      Each nation only got 3 runners. So most of the 62 runners ranked above him wasnt running at the olympics. Ethiopa have 20 runners ranked higher than young. And kenya have 28! And like i said they can only send 3 runners per nation.

      Othmane el goumri and kenenisa bekele was the only people ranked above him who he beat. The top 8, all ranked above him, and beat him. So youd imagine had the top 63 all been there hed have been closer to 60th

    Thank goodness for Mantz's running style that you can still tell it's him in a sauna suit! And if you ever run into a trail sign that says waterfall, you 100% follow that sign. And that car at the end was scary!

    Again, another outstanding episode and truly outstanding story telling. My favorite running series on RUclips, by far. Some interesting takes from this one is, getting to see Grant Fisher on a training run with you guys in Sankt Mortiz. That Clayton has to go back to make the microwave bell click after making lunch. Love the CORE spaceman suits and what a smart thing to do to get accustom to the heat. Finally, we almost lost our two best marathoner's to a Paris driver not paying attention and nearly hitting you both. Can't wait for Episode 16 and I'm hoping it's the race day coverage, but part of me wants it not to be as I don't want this series to end. Sorry this is so long, but really really enjoy these when they come out.

    You two made us USA BYU fans so proud! What a great race you guys ran!.
    The question I hope gets answered in this series is: Did Tola break everyone when he surged, or were Clayton and Connor just cautious about covering a breakaway that far from the finish?
    IOW, was the difference in fitness, or experience?

    • @_Clayton_Young_
      @_Clayton_Young_  2 месяца назад +4

      That's a great question to ponder... and I am sure my answer will change with time, ur here's my gut answer. There's no doubt that Tola was crazy fit that day. I do think I could have contended for a medal if I had made the right moves, and was a little more aggressive up that last hill... but that's easy to say post race... and I am not positive I could have hung with Tola. We don't know his limit. I do think that if it was more hot and humid my chances would have gone up, and gone up drastically.
