- REINHARDT OVERWATCH 2 GUIDE! Reinhardt got some changes in Overwatch 2! This guide explains what they are, how they change Reinhardt's gameplay, and how you should play.

Honestly I just need to learn to chill with the charges. I find my self getting carried away with that. It’s just so satisfying getting an elim.

My biggest concern when playing has always been if the supports could keep up to heal me consistently and continuously. Low elo supports sometimes would just forget about healing and then it lead to a team wipe because tank died of no heal.
Lol they definitely do, but just improve yourself and you’ll climb to a point where that’s not something you’d need to worry about
Make sure you keep up awareness of medpack locations. If your healers are falling short it's better to retreat for a pack than die and walk back
I focus on keeping them alive so they can heal the rest of the boys

@@allibababoo interesting, on my part when i play dps my top priority is to sucker punch into oblivion the enemy healer as soon as they respawn 🤣
I had a feeling playing corners was the way to go. I've enjoyed the way you present balancing agro and shielding, it feels right to me vs other people branding you "Shielding Sally" if you show a little caution.
I do feel that enemy healers are prime targets to go for, since at least one of them is pocketing a tank to some degree. However I can imagine healers will hide better the higher you rank up.
Yep! No matter how aggro of a tank you are you have to pay attention to the flow and know when to playa aggresively or shield more

I let the shield down to recharge it and rely on my armor to take reduced damage. If the enemy is too distant, I spam the flex emote while shouting, "ARE YOU CHICKEN? YOU SHAME YOURSELF!! COME HEEEERE!!!!"

@@Dunmuir mind games. Lol. Tanks in games often have a taunt ability. Just fulfilling my role as a tank in that regard by trash talking and getting the enemy team angry.
Thank you for this guide. I’ve taken some notes from you and two other RUclipsrs on this stuff. Ive played Reinhardt for years and never had a problem until now. It could be because OW2 works a tiny bit different and I haven’t played in a while. I definitely noticed a quick difference in how I perform when I used your tips. I’ve been getting better outcomes.

Nice little video! Never was a fan of Reindhart but randomly picked him up since 2 came out and have had a lot of fun.
I used to think big dude with big shield was a pure turtle machine, but getting a feel for when I can start swinging like Babe Ruth and when to be more disciplined has made it a ton of fun.
Yep! There’s a lot of nuance to Reinhardt that’s a bunch of fun if you get to play around with it
First time over watch player, felt good in quick play but ran into some really toxic players in ranked in my first couple matches. Figured I’d do some research before I hop back in, I think this helps!

Got bad news, the toxic player base never goes away in comp. You’re gonna get blamed for everything because no one can admit THEY misplayed anything. It’s always someone else’s fault

Wow , this seems like a really good guide, the best I have seen. And these tips will help me push forward into higher ranks. But one of my biggest concerns is my team, I play with my friends, and they play people like lucio, which is a good support but not a great healer, are there any tips for people playing with supports with low healing rates?
I made a guide for some of the supports too! But for characters like Lucio and mercy, it’s super important to take care of your other support. If both of you two stay alive you’ll carry your games
Do you have any tips for if you’re trying to push a payload/robot with him?
Use the payload or robot as cover until there’s a good corner to use!
It feels like you didn't talk very much about using charge. I see you're using it for mobility especially out of combat. Now that it can be canceled and (I think) it has better turning, are there more opportunities to use it in combat?
Yes and no. You’re still vulnerable while using it, so it’s better to just not. You can go for some more aggro charges, but you’ll still be punished if you miss just not as bad
@@Dunmuir Following up on this, you're gonna want to see if the enemy team has any ways to stop your charge into team and cancel. If there's Ana, you want to bait out sleeps and anti (if you cant dont bother), but of course against characters like reaper/cree/hog. Dont attempt it, play around corners.
I’ve won so many team fights by getting the first elim with a charge. Knowing there’s a wall to use that won’t put me out of position too far, go in with full shields. You need to use it more. The changes made to his kit make it so you should play more aggressive.
@@Dunmuir The good thing right now though is the fact you can cancel the charge which makes it a lot better. I use it a lot for just gapclosing and then swinging. In my matches so far people usually don't expect it :)
yeah i think using charge offensively is so much better now. Of course its bad to just charge into the enemy team and die but having the ability to cancel feels so good., also throwing people off the map is fun:)
so all in all, play corners and have a healthy mix of aggressive and defense?

When overwatch 1 came out I played him alit but now since I got overwatch 2 I forgot how to play him 😔
Never even thought about covering a corner like that.

Idk if you'll see this, is there a chance you'd know how to deal with orisa/high dps poke teams?
Gotta not take poke from range by them, and try to play corners where they have to walk through. Whatever it takes to get on top of them as fast as possible
@@Dunmuir ok gotcha, I always wonder if it's my fault if I play corners when these situations pull up, I try to give my team advantage as much as possible (gold 4 rn so maybe reins not the best idk). Thanks this advice helps a lot :)

Should I play open que or role rue?
Role queue is what matters and what people will take more seriously, so I’d say role queue
is there a reason you keep swinging the hammer when there are no enemies or do you just do it
To catch unsuspecting people coming around corners
Moves your head hitbox around a bit, but unless you need to be quiet or need to time your swing specifically there’s not really a reason to not do it

Very map dependent. On anything that’s not small like control center I feel like you’ll have a hard time playing rein. That is if you’re playing at a higher level, since enemies will off angle on you and your squishies and you won’t be able to support them. Lower tiers and they’ll just stand more or less in front of you and you can get solid value on other maps too
@@Dunmuir what are the maps that are good for him and maps that are bad for him?
How come you swing on Zayra bubbles so much?
Because most times just burning through the bubbles will let you kill Zarya faster. If you respect her bubbles all the time then she’ll be unkillable and just do whatever she wants
@@Dunmuir but doesn’t this charge Zarya and you said hitting the bubble drops it faster?
The bubbles break after 200 damage, otherwise they last for 2.5 second (though this is changing to 2 with the patch). It’s just not worth letting her have 2 seconds of free control and space to try super hard not to charge her. Beginning of fights yeh don’t charge her, midfight end fight just blow her up
Idk why but I cant even find him in hero selection i had him in overwatch and now i cant find him anymore i merged y account as it is and i know he hasnt been removed because i see everyone else playing him

rein is the template upon which tanks are built, it’s hard to find something that rein does that doesn’t apply to a lot of characters
what makes your game look so bland and simple like theres no shadows or anything?
Lowered settings so they don’t lower my frames or add unnecessary visuals that might block things later
