Great job Jeff, being in Scotland and subjected to the constant winter nightmare of rock salt, I know all about rust. In fact it was the reason I re-equipped my BMW 1150GS Adventure with stainless steel fasteners. Looks like that cross-member is going no where now! Thanks for posting. Kindest regards. Joe.
When they’re rusted like that up top the bottom is usually twice as bad where the water holds. A lot of those thin steel production trailers are death traps.
Yea! Another DMM video! Awesome! Glad to see youre doing better Jeff, thats really great. Nice job on the repair. That was some kind of nasty in there... that pinhole probably let water in, then when it got hot, it may have steamed up, causing it to rust in the highest spots? Dunno, just a thought...
..Welding like that is why I let Professionals such as yourself do it. Good Job Jeff...!!

Perhaps spray some Ospo inside the rust area after cleaning and vacuuming up the rust as option.
You need to drill holes in the end of metal for the galvanising process
Stuart, He said cold galvanizing spray. That's just a "galvanizing" spray paint.
Good job Jeffrey 🖒

A good workman like repair a squirt of cavity wax in those hollow sections might not have been a bad idea
