Dear Colette and jack, thank you so very much for the lovely hand written card that arrived with my 2021 calender. I was over the moon for two reasons. Firstly I had been rearranging the ornaments on my dresser and I had read that the eye is drawn to symmetry. So I put on one shelf a matching pair of jugs, on another shelf a matching pair of photograph frames and on the other shelf a teal blue candle holder. However, to my dismay I couldn't find anything else in that colour to put alongside, but I left it there looking at the empty space beside it. The very next day I received my calender and the beautiful card I had been sent was a beautiful teal blue the absolute exact match to my candle holder and it looks lovely in my living room! We know there's no such thing as coincidence, thank you Colette and jack for sending me a little piece of magic from Bealtaine cottage I feel blessed xxx
Yes, I tried just letting the land regenerate on it's own and I ended up with a brushy mess. Today is my first day of Retirement & I'm already researching local species of trees, bushes and plants to start my own Bealtaine style haven. Starting out this year with a small section of my 5 acres and will expand as my knowledge grows. You are my inspiration. Thank you so much.
Good Morning Colette and happy April to you , Thankyou for the cheerful video it's great to see and enjoy the changes and colours of Goddess Gaia , Lovely day here this morning and all is well in the garden where we can just be as nature intended at one with Our Mother Earth. Hugs& Blessings to yourself and Jack.🌹💚
All of your videos give me peace and calm. The views and the sound of your voice is very calming. Thank you for that and please keep it up. You're an inspiration. We all need to have a bit of your sanctuary
New life shows all over.. Here in England, Hertfordshire too, though yesterday and today it's been freezing cold, wind and tried snowing for a while.. cleansing more of mother Earth.. Good that you can do compoost.. I like your info and explanations..I resonate with your sentiments about nature and so forth.. I love the colour (sagey turquoisy) of the weather boarding on the house..it's actually the colour I painted (this and pinkish) All our furniture within our house around 2 years ago, after a lot of decluttering.. Our outside weatherboards are black, with a tiny bit of pink wall. I used barnpaint, only in black and grey I think.. no matter, the pink brightened it up Your Sagey house already looks so friendly and welcoming..and calming without trying. So Lovely! Thank you for your time
Colette, I recently came upon your cottage and your 17 years of work and my heart is truly connected. I am a third year architecture student who has come to connect with mother Gaia and you fully emulate the visions I have of what the land is screaming for. From my architectural degree, I really hope to move into the type of work you have curated here; which is fundamentally helping Mother heal from the damage done. I am living proof that Mother is seeding her young to aspire to do this; create these sanctuaries such as your cottage. Nothing would bring me more pleasure to help service the land. I send you the warmest light❤️ I am excited to purchase your books as I can afford them, it’s been such a delight seeing a few of your recent videos. I will absolutely love what you have written. Happy April to you too🌷🪴
Lovely. This is my dream. Honour the land. Plant. Trees. And to sleep surrounded by it. Even in the city backgarden I try to. E.g. castagne and oaks are now 3 years old trees but it is a start. If I cannot poo outside (living in a flat), can i still do the gathering and put it in a bin outside? The human manure handbook...i will dive into it. So lovely the seeds will now fall into healthy ground in which they find a home.
Dear Colette you’re an example for us.your experience is so inspiring.I juste have a little garden in France not 3 acres like yours but I treat the soil with respect and I do lilke my hauwthorn trees, apple tree, plum tree etc. And I’m so happy to have birds and all insects there.we can help nature even in a small garden.mother Earth talks with us everywhere.but at Bealtaine cottage you make her sing!thank you dear Colette.blessings to you.
You are so right about not leaving the land to regenerate itself and for all the reasons you mentioned. I am working on saving for my own little bit of land. I have been following you for several years. Two years ago I divorced, and at age 59 am starting over again. I have been so inspired by you. Thank you! Pats for Jack as well!
Dear collet i love youre garden I know it,s a lot of work I have one of my own I,m always outsite It,s now snowing and there is hail terribel weather I hope the weather wil be better soon Enjoy youre garden greetings from holland
Hi Colette, I think that piece of land was waiting just for you to find it, no-one would have done as much with it as you have, it certainly deserved you! A special, ancient area brought back to life and it's former glory, so wonderful to see, well done! Blessings to you and dear Jack
Every time I visit you via yt, I feel like I'm home😊, may the April Showers bring many May 🌷🌸🌹🌻 flowers. Love spending time with you and adorable Jack.Blessing from Texas USA😍🇺🇸🙏
My husband and I long for the day when we can leave the city, buy some land and build a wee cottage. When that happens we will need help on which trees and shrubs to plant to feed the birds and the bees and bring life back to somewhere quite barren. It’s this dream that keeps us going!
Wow! I just found your Channel. And have been watching all your videos before bed each night. Very inspiring, relaxing and wonderful to watch. You've done an amazing job!!
Thank you 🙌 this is our 4th year anniversary of owning our 2 acres we moved into on 1 May but obtained keys this week, I actually have dandelions this year the first time I was watching bees 🐝 enjoying them we have planted nearly 500 mixed trees and now started on shrubs I think the land 5years plus must have been sprayed as was grazing things struggled to grow but this years seems alot happier
Happy April hope all have been enjoing spring & out in the yards & garden planting growing loveing mother nature & our mother earth. Hello Colette and sweet handsome Jack ive been on your channel for 3 years this june i just love love everthing you have done at that special magical place 3 acres & comfiey cottage 💚
Happy April to you and Jack. Colette you have inspired me over the years I have been with you. It is chilly here and windy but beautiful sun shine. Blessings to you and Jack.
I more than agree with you! Although I am only working on reclaiming a backyard, it was used as a midden in the 1920's and 30's. It has broken glass everywhere, vines, very poor soil, no drainage. I planted trees, working on cleaning up the glass, planting lots of other plants to help keep the vines gone. It needs lots of help. You are right! Blessings!
It seems to me that compoosting is the natural cycle, instead of sending it to be chemicalized and out to sea - where humans don't live. I learn so much from your videos, and witness so much beauty that fills my heart. Thank you!
What a wonderful walk with you and Jack this morning. Seeing the beautiful fresh green. Thank you for letting us enjoy time with you. Blessings to you also!
Just bought Ribes! Very difficult to find in my area but had to have it. Thank you for walking on your land and identifying the beautiful flowering plants and trees. I love learning about plants🌺
It is April 1st just before noon here in Northern Indiana and it is snowing like it's February. So wonderful to see all that energized greenery.... ComPoost😉 😎..Ahh nowI get it . Thanks so much for our visit .
Happy April Colette and Jack. Oh how the trees are the most important thing about owning a home with any amount of land. And how impoverished house after house in Ireland is when you look at their gardens 😩
Good morning, Colette I love your peacefull and great garden............Greetings from Daggy,Germany and I hope, that I can come this Year in my dreamland again
Happy April dear lady, how pleasant to wake up in NJ ,USA to your video. You are so calming to listen to and the knowledge you share about the land and the trees it’s wonderful .The earth need more people like you to help her , I wish I had an area like this to get lost in , but I do try to work my little garden. These days I can’t bend like I use to so I’ve researched what I can do. Thank you so much for your teachings , Big hug to Jack ,I can’t get enough of watching his devotion to you. Happy Easter 💕🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷
Hello, I was inspired to make my new mixed hedges thicker because of your last video and have placed some dogwood cuttings in front of it. I will add more throughout the years. Many thanks Laura
Our rural Midwest US area is beautiful. Trees and large forests are/were so abundant. People from all over say they love the natural beauty yet they are moving up here in droves building big second homes, making manmade fake lakes with fertilizer going into them and they cut down all the trees! Developers keep cutting thousands and thousands of trees and its like a cancer. The buyers don’t even live here yet now we have to put up with the sheer ugliness they are creating. Its absolutely disgusting. We bought another 1.7 acre lot to add to our other 5 acres and will buy what comes available if we can just so we don’t have to be close to yet another development and listen to more out of town weekend warriors. We retired here so we could get far away from urban sprawl. Now its followed us..homes crammed in being built on sand with a few white pines and no deciduous trees allowed is not looking good and there is no regeneration. Its natures’ degradation at its worst. We love our land. The wildlife is fantastic through the seasons. Deer sleep in our woods and bring their babies. Male turkeys are here now. We had eight males all together in one day. Man is destroying the best of life. Good show today. Happy spring!🌺
Beautiful April to you and Jack. I love trees too. I’m blessed beyond measure having several acres of hardwoods. I love collecting the seeds and nuts, stepping them into the ground in order to help the trees regrow. I envy your flat land though 💙 I’m in the driftless region of WI and we have very little flat ground to work with but, you certainly build your legs constantly navigating the hills on foot.
Yes, you have beautiful, gentle hills. We have something called goat prairies. I should have clarified. We drop 400’ down in 1600’ linear feet. We have switchback fire roads and lots of erosion control (where most of our $ is spent) . We sit atop of a east/west ridge with steep north/south slopes. No one wanted the land because of its challenges. Like you, we saw the potential for its return to healing after being clear cut and used as a piggy bank. We are on year 9 of forest restoration 🌿💙
Happy April to you Colette, the sun has been shining here in west wales too, Ive been planting like crazy , thank you for being such an inspiration xxx
Hello Colette. Thank you for Video to day it really was amazing what you have done over the short time you have been looking after the cottage and 3 acres I have learned so much from you in a short time I wish TV program like ear to the ground would film your work and beautiful restored land it would educatio the nation which is essential to everybody especially Irish people i students also who I'm sure would appreciate to see your live evidence of how To grow on boglands you should be compensated by the government for all your work I'm sure that there's a grant somewhere in the restoration of land in the west of Ireland I urge you to seek information from minister of state on that department thank you Colette for all your work .and information planting I'm on other side of 60 and still learning and delighted to do so
Thank you for all the information you share with us. I've been slowly over many years eating more and more a vegitarian diet. The world's animal processing is a horror for the earth and consequently us not to mention the horror it does to the animals themselves. It's a gorgeous day here in Oregon and now that I've had my tea and toast I must get out there and tend to my woodland. Blessings to you and yours.
Happy April to you as well! (and Jack too). Just finished your video, and starting to watch the wonderful Judi Dench's RUclips video "My passion for Trees". She is really a remarkable human being..din't you think??
An April good morning Colette, such a beautiful time of the year. A time for honoring all that rises from Mother Earth to create, propagate and give to all that is upon her. 🌿🌲🌻🍄🌱🌰🥔🧅🍓🌽🍏🍐🍑🌳
Happy April and happy Easter Collette and Jack. I just love your videos, the paradise you have created and inspiration you give to me are just perfect ❤️. Many blessings to you both ❤️
Thank-you Colette. For sharing your world and your trees and the incredible diversity of things you love and care about. Thank-you for sharing Jack. Like a lot of your subscribers I am inspired by your work. How rewarding it must have felt to find tree seedlings "the first time" and now there are so many to pot up and share. I have a question. How many species plants/trees have you found growing on Bealtaine Cottage in the last few years that weren't there when you bought the property nor something you yourself planted? I would bet you have tons of native volunteers that have been propagated by birds and other wildlife. Just curious. The gravel walks look so neat and tidy. The primroses you grow are amazing. Thanks again, Karen in North Carolina
Happy April Colette & Jack as well as everyone🌱My goodness my heart swells seeing your garden burst into life each year. All the tidbits of knowledge you share with us is appreciated indeed. Big hugs to you both!
Happy April to you and Jack, loving the spring awakening, everything looks so fresh and healthy. Your family visitors from Canada will be made to feel most welcome...they may not want to return there - I know I wouldn’t 😊 thank you for the regular videos, all are most welcome x blessings to all x
Ha Ha! I was just thinking about you and Jack and you popped up on my YT feed. Wonderful. Looks beautiful. Things are changing. I sense a shift in energies. All positive. Sending you both love and blessings. 💓xx
I wish it would be a gores day here on April first, but we have snow flurries today, and wind chill to morrow night into the teens!!! I just planted by strawberries two days ago. I bet they have the chills. You have a lovely place, so warm and inviting. I love Jack, and the way he looks at you, he just loves you. Blessings to you and Jack.
Welcoming April already, I say that because I believe this is the first year it didn't take twice as long getting here.! Could you spell the name of that pink flowering tree/shrub in the start of this video. I love it, hope I can find them here in the states, some I love we don't have here and I don't know why. I seen a beautiful Japanese cherry on Gardeners World and we don't have that one here.
It's all so other worldly, your land. The forecast in my little part of the world is calling for up to 8in of snow. I'm hoping the weather person is wrong. The one tree on this property that can feed the bees is loaded with blossoms ready to pop. But if we get what is predicted they could freeze. If I had my way there would be a lot more trees but alas I don't own this. Blessings to you and dear Jack ❤.
I was just thinking of how you hadn't gone by the crack in the earth for a long time now and today you glanced by it. Those trees were growing from a fallen Rowan was it? When the wall pulled away there? That spot has always intrigued me. Blessings on ye and he.
It was one big Rowan tree...(see the map, Rebirthed Rowan) that fell down in a storm around the time I bought the cottage...all the new trees grew from it.
April.. 💐Lordy lordy where is this year going what with your birds and mine it's quite deafening.... 🐦😂Blessings to you and MR JACK 🐶🥰💐🌼🌷WE ARE GOING TO HAVE SNOW ON DARTMOOR IN DEVON WERE I LIVE NEXT WEEK 🌨️❄️⛄😂❄️⛄🌨️...

Happy April, my favorite month! Make sure it will be legal for your family to bring your plants into Canada.
Yes, best to check the requirements and get an import permit if necessary.
Thanks LT. I misunderstood what she said in the video.
The cottage is here in Ireland 🇮🇪 very close by 😊
Happy April 💕🌷☔🌷💕
I'm a seedling-saver too Colette. I can't pass up a chance to try to save those little "volunteers" that pop up in unexpected places.
I wish it would be a gores day here on April first, but we have snow flurries today, and wind chill to morrow night into the teens!!! I just planted by strawberries two days ago. I think it's the Ribes you're referring to, commonly known as the flowering currant. 😉
@@poppy6488 Yes Thank you. I searched with that name and couldn't find anything. Hope flowering currant turns up over here. Thanks again.
@@poppy6488 I just received my red currant order, Thanks for including the common name.
Yes! Love that tree. TY I'll rewatch that vlog.
It's Fantastic x
Planting a tree- It is the multi level possibilities, isn’t it?

Hi Colette, have you ever considered adding mulberry trees to your garden?
Will your son be able to get the plants through Canada's customs?
