Such a gifted musician! Can’t take his wonderful melodies from my mind! Addicted to them! CHAPEAU! And thanks , thanks, thanks
When you truly love your profession, you make master pieces!
Such beautiful score. I have listened to it so many times and I still get chills.
Hurwitz's compositions should become jazz standards!
They’re a long way off from “standards” material. That’s why no jazz musician has even gone anywhere near this cheesy soundtrack.
@@JulianDiaz-Tpt Thats the worst criticism ive ever heard
@@yooree4992 you've haven't heard many then.
Jazz is about improvision. It is in the players bones and not on a piece of paper.
@@JulianDiaz-TptI agree with the first part but the soundtrack is still amazing in my opinion
A well-deserved oscar, congs.
Keyboard/Piano was my favorite musical instrument since I was a child. At the age of 22, after watching this film, I finally bought one just to learn and play the musical scores of this movie.
Justins music melodies always puts tears in my eyes how beautiful.....
Loved hearing about Justin's creative process behind the music. He's brilliant.
what a generous interview this guy gives
Loved hearing it in such detail
Forever grateful to this man for his beautiful music.
Thank you Justin so incredibly much for all the beauty you added to this world...
I've looked everywhere to find a video with scenes from the scoring of this movie. Considering the importance of music to this movie, I thought they'd be readily available. This has just a few passing scenes of the recording of the score, but it's the closest I could get.
14:23 love the technical explanations of how the magic was made.
not that complicated. he's using extremely basic terms("it goes back between major and minor" isn't really the best way of explaining the harmony).
he straight up said 'jazzy.' shows how little he actually knows about music and how overrated he is.
Wow. Really admirable work on the music, it's a privilege to hear this insightful interview. Thanks for sharing.
Justin, you genius, you!
americans starved for talent. stop idolizing artists who are simply mediocre. find better people.
The high level of detail oriented from him and Damien, daaamn 🙇🏾♀️🙇🏾♀️🙇🏾♀️🙇🏾♀️🙇🏾♀️💘
Sweetie, Happy Anniversary.
Great insight & excellent interview! I loved how much he was free to talk the entire way through.
If he's not actually a genius, he's very close.
If he's not, who is?
@@necroyoli08 nothing Justin has done is genius. he's incredibly generic. are you really that starved for talent?
Later this month is our first second date anniversary.
Don Garrison, you don't miss a beat, do you.
Obvious genius.
no. mediocre. overrated. only hired because he's damien's friend.

First Man!!
The fake fingerings for me are always the thing, that ruin a movie with music in it.
Justin favors a young Chuck Lovell.
You give up yet.
It’s that nose
I'd refer you to that song in "Spamalot" that says that a musical won't be a hit if "you don't have any Jews"
"i've been writing jazz for Damien for a while now"
DO NOT HIRE SOMEONE TO WRITE FOR A JAZZ MOVIE IF THEY NEED TO STUDY IT FIRST.
Justin's great but he should not have composed for this film.
You ripped off The Rainbow Connection. What a HACK. 😂😂😂😂😂😂
