Wukong once naively believed that as long as he completed the task of the Celestial Court, he and the Bull King would be free, so he forced and insulted the Bull King. That's how their brotherhood broken.
But later he found out that the Celestial Court was all scammers😥So in the end, he decided to resist, but was killed by the Celestial Court and many Yaoguai together.
Bajie had to kill the Bull King's concubine because if he shows any mercy to Celestial court's former enemy, Bull King and his family will suffer even more. Bajie knows how the celestial court operate and how crual they can be, he is a great pretender, which is why he won't recognise his own daughter with the spider lady to protect her.

The order of the plot of the Bull Demon King animation is as follows:
1. The Bull Demon King and Wukong became sworn brothers and joined forces to resist the Celestial Court and make a big fuss in the Heavenly Palace, but failed. Sun Wukong was suppressed by the Tathagata Buddha for 500 years. He decided to compromise and protect Tang Monk to obtain scriptures, becoming a lackey of gods and Buddhas, hoping to establish merits and become a Buddha, so that he could protect the safety of his brothers and Huaguo Mountain. 2. Because the Bull Demon King had a lover named Jade-faced Fox (Pingping's mother), the Bull Demon King and Princess Iron Fan had a bad relationship and separated. As a result, Princess Iron Fan was calculated by the Celestial Court, drank the water of the Pregnant River, and gave birth to the Yaksha Red Boy.
3. In the original Journey to the West, Sun Wukong needed to borrow the fan to put out the fire. Princess Iron Fan asked the Bull Demon King to agree to hand over the fan to calm the matter, but the Bull Demon King was resentful of the Celestial Court and refused to hand over the fan. Sun Wukong asked the Celestial Court to help defeat the Bull Demon King. (The original content of Journey to the West)
4. The stubborn Bull Demon King was defeated by Sun Wukong and the Celestial Court. Sun Wukong believed that surrendering to the Celestial Court and becoming a Buddha was the only way out, and resistance would only lead to death. But when the Bull Demon King heard that Bajie had killed the Jade-faced Fox, he was completely enraged and rose up in resistance, but was eventually suppressed. (Powerful Yaoguais like Bull Demon King and Sun Wukong are usually not easy to kill. In the original novel, Bull Demon King was beheaded by Nezha more than a dozen times before he finally compromised and surrendered. * Nezha and the Three-eyed guy are the two most powerful warriors in Celestial Court. At the same time, they are also dissatisfied with Celestial Court like Sun Wukong. But they had to serve the Heavenly Court. These are two other stories.)
（As to why Zhu Bajie killed the Jade-faced Fox, the current plot has not made it clear. Now there are two speculations: 1. Zhu Bajie was controlled by the Celestial Court. 2. The Jade-faced Fox was a spy of the Celestial Court.）
5. The power of the Celestial Court made the Bull Demon King desperate. He felt that it was Sun Wukong who caused his lover to be killed. He hated the Celestial Court and also hated Sun Wukong who surrendered to the Celestial Court. So when Sun Wukong betrayed the Celestial Court (at the beginning of the game), the Bull Demon King followed the orders of the gods and joined the team besieging Sun Wukong. (Sun Wukong discovered that although he had become a Buddha, the Heavenly Court was still wary of him because the Golden Hoop Curse had not been lifted, but was just hidden.)
6.Sun Wukong was besieged by the Celestial Court and the five YaoGuai kings and died on the battlefield.(Bull Demon King was one of them.) Before Sun Wukong died, Bull Demon King began to understand Sun Wukong's thoughts and regretted what he had done.
（A more reasonable speculation is that Sun Wukong was not killed, but committed suicide. Because his power was restricted by the turban of Tathagata Buddha. After the end of Journey to the West, the gods and Buddhas broke their agreement and did not take off his turban, but just hid it. So Sun Wukong thought of a way to let his body die and leave his power to the person of destiny, so that the heir can get rid of the imprisonment. In addition, according to the plot, the gods and Buddhas use Yaoguais and humans as consumables for immortality, and Sun Wukong is unwilling to be an accomplice.）
7.Sun Wukong's body was divided into six pieces of relics, and Bull Demon King got one of them.
8. Full of resentment, Red Boy asked Bull King for the relic, hoping to gain the power to take revenge on Celestial Court. Bull King did not want his son to die tragically, so he refused to hand over the relic, which led to a quarrel between father and son (Red Boy was a member of the Yaksha tribe. The tribe was destroyed by Celestial Court, and Red Boy was the last member of the Yaksha tribe).
The Bull Demon King in the game has become decadent and old because of the tragic things he experienced (lover's tragic death, marital discord, son's hatred, daughter's disappearance, sworn brother's tragic death),
9. Regarding the pig in the fragment, it is a two-headed pig, with one head on each side. When it wants to make a choice, both of its heads will move in different directions at the same time, which means it can only stay where it is forever. This also represents the fate of the Bull Demon King.
nice summary but one thing I wanted to add is about bull king body condition, it was indicated in the game that after the death of wukong, the bull king often retch or puking, and guess what was inside his stomach all these time?, yep- wukong’s body. Unlike other bosses, bull king refuse to cultivate wukong’s body to make himself stronger, he hid wukong’s body inside his stomach waiting and wishing to return it back to its original owner. But putting wukong’s body inside his stomach without cultivating it cause rejection between two powers, which makes himself unwell as the time pass, imagine you ate sth bad, your body wants to puke it out badly but you keep trying your best to suppress it, for years

The anime cutscene at 2:49:21 was beautiful. It was not linear storytelling and involved lots of fleshbacks. I would split the timeline into 3 major sections: Pre JTTW, JTTW and Post JTTW.
Before jounery to the west started (Pre JTTW), Wukong was one of the powerful Yaoguai kings who was sworn brother with Bull Demon King. They fought with the Celestial Court together when they were young and later got defeated. Buddha trapped Sun Wukong in the Five-finger mountain for 500 years, while other Yaoguai kings escaped.
During JTTW, Xuanzang (Tang Monk) freed Wukong from the mountain and Wukong started serving Xuanzang as his master (Wukong was the first disciple of Xuanzang, and Bajie was the second one). On their way to the west, they came across a place called Flaming Mountain with fires and lava burning all the time and they could not pass. But there was no other ways around. The only solution was to borrow the magic fan from Yaksashi (Bull Demon King's wife). There might be some misunderstanding or distrust, Wukong, Bajie, Yakashi and Bull Demon King started fighting each other. Finally, gods from Celestial court joined the fight and defeated bull demon king, so Xuanzang and Wukong could continue their journey.
Nezha beheaded bull demon king in the anime, but that didn't kill him because he was immortal.
After the journey to the west（Post JTTW）, the new story of Black Myth Wukong started. The celestial court wanted to destroy Wukong for unrevealed reasons, and a lot of Demon Kings including the bull demon king joined the fight. Finally, they worked together to kill Wukong and each demon king got a remaining part of his body (the relics). The bull demon king felt kinda guilty to betray his brother so he kept the relic in his stomach wihthout really consuming it. He was waiting for the destined one to come.

这部分是讲，如果不服从天庭，哪怕有一点反抗的意思，天庭就会对反抗者的家庭/亲人/同族进行毁灭性的打击（如剿灭花果山）。而牛魔王在Pre JTTW选择和孙悟空联手对抗天宫，在JTTW选择和天庭对抗不交出芭蕉扇，都是选错了边（悟空临死的台词）。

long to short, in JTTW 500 years ago after wu kong was sealed by Buddha. Wu kong was captured by Erlang Shen then the heaven decided to burn him into the furnace with strongest flame never unburnt. He was escaped after 49 days and kicked the furnace, the flame never unburnt fallen into earth and became flaming mountain. In the journey the gang need iron fan from Rakshasi in order to pass through the mountain but she refused because the gang have given away her son- red boy, so they fought, the gang beaten demon bull king with the help from heaven
In game, demon bull king never has a good choice, first he joined wu kong then havoc heaven, they failed. Second he refused to give the iron fan based on JTTW. Third he joined heaven and killed wu kong, he took 1 of wu kong relics, wu kong knew one day someone will come after demon bull king and destroy his family all over again. It's seems Demon bull king has no choice after all. So dark

Wukong true master is Puti Zushi. Tang Sanzang was only his master in the sense of duty, like Puti Zushi was like his father who taught him meaning, while Tang Sanzang was more like his boss at work.
The reason why many people died or experienced tragedy in the game is that it is called "Black Myth"...

Bajie is one of the worst companions to have in recent gaming... he just talks and curse alot but hardly do anything in fights.. just vanished all the time after few minutes or fly elsewhere, then appears in the cutscenes..lol

At the beginning of the game, Wukong was fighting alone against the Celestial Court and the other five Yaoguai Kings of the five chapters including the bull king. This is the second time he fight the court.
Wukong’s body was broken (this was wukong’s intention, he wanted to remove the headband this way, proving to Erlang Shen that he was beyond this world’s rules nobody can manipulate him - otherwise, no one could destroy his body). However his undying spirit endured, and they were assigned to divide up Wukong’s remains.
The chapter 6's animation depicts Wukong’s entire journey. At the end of animation, wukong was determined to do something, which is right connected to the beginning of the game. The core of this game are telling why Wukong fought against the Celestial Court again.

Wukong said Bull King is unlucky that he has never made the right choice, or should be said, the right side.
Back then, Sun Wukong and Bull King were brothers and claimed themselves the title among the Seven Great Sages which was the seven most powerful Yaoguai Kings. While others were not mentioned much in the original novel JTTW, Bull King and Red Boy were actual trials set for the team of Tang Monk to overcome before reaching the enlightenment at Lingshan.
In this game, the first wrong choice he (Bull King) made was when he, with Wukong, decided to declare war with the Celestial Court. In the novel it was only Wukong. He then was repressed by Buddha for 500 years to atone himself until Tank Monk recruited him to the journey as a part of the destiny. In this version of the game, we can see he was fighting along with Bull King, and after the defeat of the Havoc in Heaven's Palace event, Bull King’s family was punished as his wife (Rakshasi, or Princess Iron Fan) was forced to bear a child by drinking water from the river, and they were restrained in their place.
The second wrong choice was when the team of Tang Monk encountered Bull King’s family and need the fan on their journey to the west. There Bull King chose to stand up against Wukong and the Court’s will again. This led to his total defeat as the second wife (a fox guai) was killed by Zhu Bajie, and his son (Red Boy) was sent to Guanyin to be a disciple in order to learn some manners. Wukong said to him that the only way out for the likes of them was to serve the right and have a position in the enlightenment, like Wukong became the Victorious Fighting Buddha. But when he heard that his second wife was killed, he became outraged and disobeyed, driving the force of the Celestial Court to oppress him once again. As a powerful Yaoguai King like Wukong, his head was cut multiple times in that fight by Ne Zha but he was not dead, however, he submitted to Heaven.
The third time was the intro event of the game, Wukong might see something decadent so gave up the buddhahood and quited, he went back to his mountain and want to enjoy free life but found his kinds were killed, as Wukong realized no matter what they did, the Court will always see them as “a transgression” something that needed to be controlled and they will never be free. This time the Bull King chose to be on the side with the Court until the last moment of Wukong and heard what we viewed in the Chapter ending. This time, he still didnt steer clear of the relic as Wukong warned, which caused the ending of chapter 5: his son found out about his true identity and their past, demanded the relic for revenge, finally failed and suicided.
Anyway, Wukong understands his brother the Bull Demon King and saw through the court and buddhas, but his brother is always one step behind in understanding the truth.
