- De brug (The bridge) is a 1928 Dutch documentary short film directed by Joris Ivens. This silent film explores the then-newly constructed Rotterdam vertical-lift railroad bridge: its structure, mechanisms, complex actions, and the steam-powered trains and ships making use of it.
Original music by Mark Hamlyn for Billi Brass' Silent Films Project; first execution for 2016's Koningsdag.

Il ponte è un documentario del 1928, diretto dal regista Joris Ivens. Il film descrive la struttura, i meccanismi e il funzionamento del ponte sollevabile ferroviario De Hef (Koningshavenbrug) di Rotterdam, completato nel 1927.
Musica originale di Mark Hamlyn, composta per il Progetto Cinema Muto, eseguita in prima assoluta dai Billi Brass Quintet in occasione del Koningsdag 2016.

Beautiful film and music. Glad Bezos didn't get you to take it down for his latest $500 million toy. One thing the Dutch and Americans have in common - most of us think Bezos is beyond reprehensible.

Each time I see De Hef, it just leaves me speechless.
This monument breathes industrialisation and raw power.
The middle part being lifted to the heavens is just aesthically beautiful.
And lots of respect for not letting Bezos get his grubby mitts on it. 🙌
