    I think the exposed carbon is beautiful on the cars. It's not just slabs of black all over the car. They integrate it into the paint work very cleverly. Williams in particular.

    The exposed carbon was cool to see since its a product of this seasons regulation changes, but shouldn't become the norm. F1 Livery is part of the identity of the sport, and the teams should have more freedom to experiment with the look of their cars, being forced to reduce weight by stripping livery hinders the visual identity of the teams.

      Someone mentions Ferrari, most people think of Marlboro/Shell ones from 98 to 2007, with that specific colour.
      Someone mentions McLaren, it's either the Prost/Senna era white and red Marlboro one or the Coulthard/Hakkinen/Raikkonen white, gray and black Mclaren Mercedes West.
      Someone mentions Williams, it's either the Rothmans blue, yellow and white from the 90s or the blue and white HP one from the 00s.
      Someone mentions Renault, it's the blue and yellow Mild Seven one.
      Someone mentions Red Bull, it's that red bull of theirs with some combination of blue, yellow and purple.

    It's unbelievable to see the lengths the FIA will go to destroy the most important aspects on F1 racing..... 'fine tuning the car for maximum performance & safety'.
    As the pinnacle of global motor sport, the FIA has forced F1 teams to add unnecessary expense and to compromise the essential 'fine tuning' needed to perfect the cars performance for the race by:
    1) Introducing 'Sprint races' which does very little to improve the F1 fan experience as the leading teams can't risk having a major accident / mechanical failure just before the race.
    2) Introducing compulsory use of tires that do not complement their car's setup for a specific track, just to help the tire manufacture make heaps more money?
    3) Regulating the car design to compromise efficiency in order to favor one team's floored design. Porposing was created by each team's car's design engineers and should be left to each team to eliminate the problem. Yes!!! The FIA must address this major 'driver safety' issue but should limit it's control by imposing constructors penalty points & possible race disqualification if problem is not resolved to standards set by team agreement.
    As F1 fans, let's appeal to 'Liberty media' to restore the true essence of F1 racing back to our sport.

      Are the FIA a bunch of individuals that have actually raced in F1, or are they just people who set rules? If the former, think they need to really see the rules from a holistic view and from a drivers perspective; the latter doesn't take that into account and only sees rules as just that - there to be obeyed/ followed. It's not a regimented sport and there should be fluidity in the execution of rules; some need to stick ( eg cheating ) other require common sense ( eg tyre use/ safety cars, etc ). Just a thought

      @stevenmoran4060 Год назад +4

      Porpoising wasn’t a risk to health and safety at all, it was poor engineering by certain terms. It was easily cured by raising the ride height but, Mercedes didn’t want to do this as it slowed the car. Conversely Red Bull have always run their cars higher than anyone else especially at the rear. So, by managing the raised ride height played more into RB’s hands than anyone else. Yea again Mercedes we’re whining but hurt themselves more.
      FIA could have sorted bouncing by banning teams from racing if their cars bounced. Red Bull didn’t and nobody else would have done either, all they had to do was rise the ride height.

    Sprints are fun, but they could be improved by keeping them in line with the normal Q1-Q3 process. Run Q1, lose the slowest 5. Run Q2, lose the slowest 5. Those 10 start the GP in P11-P20. They don't sprint. The 10 cars that passed Q2 start the sprint in their Q2 order, and the sprint finishing order becomes the GP P1-P10 starting order. The sprint replaces Q3, and performs the same function as Q3, but under race conditions.

And to make it fairer the highest qualifier in Q2 gets to pick where they want place to run in Q3 and so in till the 10th position gets the last slot. This could be tactical due to weather track temp etc.
