Part 1. Furniture store demolition in Rockville, Maryland. It had been Danker Furniture, then Sheffield, then Persiano. (They were testing the fire alarm system at the new building across the street. It seemed to be working well.)
Produced by John Z Wetmore, producer of "Perils For Pedestrians".
R we listening to that alarm all through this video?! This is a great video but damn that alarm is annoying.
The fire alarm was just as annoying in person as it is in the recording. Perhaps mute the audio and play the audio from another demo video in the background.
@@JohnZWetmore I was just thinking about that after I posted that comment, this is where wearing ear buds come in handy.
First time I've ever seen a store plastered with "ALL INVENTORY MUST GO" and "STORE CLOSING" signs....actually close and be demolished, kudos!
Also, this the second phase of the Wegmans Twinbrook development, correct?
That's right. Wegmans has a sign in the window saying opening 2025. ACECO did the demolition for the first phase three years ago: ruclips.net/video/1Ab-blUd7dI/видео.html
Why didn't the power company disconnect the building alarm device before demolition
The fire alarm is coming from the brand new building out of view to the left, not from the old furniture store. They were testing the alarm system all week. It was just as annoying in person as in the recording.
Good video. Thanks, John.
You found a good vantage spot to shoot this. Somewhere on the new apartment complex next door?
I'm filming from the 5th level of the parking garage for the Twinbrook Metro Station. I had a good view of the Fuddruckers building and the back of the furniture store. I'll need to go out to Rockville Pike to get the front of the furniture store because the view will be blocked by the new apartment buildings. (The apartment buildings have some nice balconies that would be great for filming, but it would probably not be easy to get permission to use them.)

cool green Machine
It reminds me a little bit of WALL-E from the 2008 movie, the small tracked robot, which cleans the left behind earth from garbage
I know where that was😂. What are they putting in there?
🤣 Like the video. 👍
