I have reloaded and cast bullets for almost 40 years. I have always been interested in swaging, but the high start-up cost has always kept me from pulling the trigger. You can buy a wheelbarrow full of factory projectiles for the cost of the equipment required to swage your own. It would be nice if a budget company like Lee would step into the market.

Very nice. I checked out your website. Making my own jackets is more than I want to get into at this point but it looks like you make great stuff. I wish you great success.
Have you considered making bullet molds? There are many companies making molds but there are very few options for hollow point molds.

NAW, dies are easy - good molds are HARD. This feller can often fix you up with HP options www.hollowpointmold.com/

PSA: click on the setting icon. Select speed and then select 1.5 times. You're welcome

      CamSayCam more like 1.25.
1.5 is a bit too fast.

A set of these dies costs $3400 from Corbin. That is not my idea of an affordable hobby.

A little more than that all said and done. Price is not relative. My brothers Quads cost 7400.00 each - not an affordable hobby in MY opinion - perfectly acceptable in his. I am a tad cheaper than Corbin though. Been working on a few new designs for pistol jackets that should be a lot more affordable. Some gas check tooling and base guard tooling too. I will post some video as soon as I can.

I know this is an older post & you have probably already heard of it but, for handgun rounds, lots of people have been doing really well with powder coated bullets & they don't need a gas check. I haven't tried it yet because I usually load rifle rounds & powder coating can't take rifle velocities but lots of people have been getting great velocities, great accuracy & no leading by simply powder coating cast bullets.
I got some plated 9mm bullets from Rocky Mountain Reloading & I was pleased with them. I am thinking of looking into plating my own.
Powder coating or plating isn't as good as a real, proper copper jacket but it costs much less too. Like you say, depends on what you want to spend on a hobby.

Wtf, I'll just buy a damm lathe and make my own tools, seriously... I learned how to do precise measurements in the 6th grade.

      @@galyien well there ya go👍🏻.
That said, you should probably learn the trade of machining (if you don't already know it) or you'll end up costing yourself quite a bit in the "error-learning curve"; i.e. what you don't know can hurt your wallet.
      Ask me how I know...👷🏻‍♂️! 👨🏻‍🔧! ...💸💸💸💸...🤦🏻‍♂️!
      👨🏻‍🏫...👨🏻‍💻...👨🏻‍🎓!

+Jonathan Michelin Any caliber can be done. We do these for the Corbin S press, and the CSP-2 press and the hydro press, and also for the RCECO walnut hill press. We have also just contracted eith a machinist to make several different presses. Please feel free to e-mail with questions and details - jksswage@yahoo.com -Kel
