Beaver Close-Up

Sometimes you can really close to the Beavers and feel you are on intimate terms with them.
It's amazing to see those teeth, 2 up, 2 down. They constantly grow and are self sharpening. If allowed to grow they would be 4 feet long in a year. The orange colour comes from iron in their tooth enamel which is only on the front. The back has dentin which wears away faster and thus keeping a permanent sharp edge.
Their sense of smell is very good, you can see their nostrils flaring. Their other great sense is hearing. Sight not so good. They know I am there but I'm not a threat.
You can see their front paws, which are very dextrous and strong. Allowing them to manipulate extremely well. Almost human looking with fashionable long nails!
