Hey man, I like a lot of what you have done here and it’s very similar to the Homebrew Ranger that I made. The most unique idea that I haven’t seen anywhere else in at least a similar form is how you change half casters. I’m finding that concept pretty intriguing and I was wondering if you’ve played many games with the rules that way? The biggest difference I have is I gave the Ranger a monster grimoire that they add creature types to throughout their adventuring and having a creature in this book gives you mechanical bonuses and also interacts with your Hunter’s Mark feature which is no longer a spell.

@@nathanaelthomas9243 I haven't. This is all just theory-crafting at the moment, though everyone is welcome to play test it and provide feedback.

@@chameleonx9253 Well my player is only level 6 right now, but I’ll be keeping an eye on it and see how it feels. I too feel like once these spells come on line for a half caster, they’re so underpowered to just attacking, they’re not worth casting in many occasions. If I remember years down the road, lol, I’ll let you know if I change her progression and how it goes.

@@nathanaelthomas9243 Thanks. The only problem I can really foresee off hand is that it would make multiclassing more attractive for casters, because it would no longer slow down their progression (at least in the early game).
But that doesn't seem to be a particularly massive issue, considering Paladin is already a very popular MC due to divine smite, while boosting the Ranger and Artificer on the MC front seems like a net positive to me, as they aren't otherwise used much.
