@SlavicGuitar whilst I agree with you that the players you mentioned are fantastic, the fact Palmer is second only behind Haaland for the Golden boot in a chelsea side that for 90% of the season has been one of the worst in recent history, I think that more than places him as the better standalone player this season.

@@hobotomato4252 Palmer has been fantastic this season, no denying that. However, it must be mentioned that Haaland was injured for a significant period of time and, despite that, will still win the Golden boot.
Of course, Palmer is not a striker so he is not expected to score tons of goals, but quite a few of his goals this season were penalties.
Furthermore, Chelsea did not really win anything this season. They had the perfect opportunity to win the Carabao Cup against Liverpool's 3rd team, but failed to do that. Surely the "best player in the league" could've done something in that game? It wasn't even Liverpool's 2nd team, but 3rd!
In the end, I think most people would agree that Palmer has been carrying Chelsea this season. But I still wouldn't outright call him the "best player in the league", even though he might be.

There are not many Football fans that have a RUclips channel where they talk absolute sense and know exactly what they are talking about, also there are not many Football fans that have a head on their shoulders and put aside rivalry and even say nice things about their rival's. But it was absolutely refreshing and a breath of fresh air to find your channel. I am a Chelsea fan and have been for nearly 57 years when I become 60 years old later this month ( May), I even worked at Chelsea fc part time as a turnstile operator from the 1980's into the 1990's. My younger brother is a massive Man United fan here in Hertfordshire, I originally came from London. Thank you so much for your kind words about my club and for hearing your incredible knowledge about our beautiful game that I love so much. Firstly, for some reason we've been clicking brilliantly the last 4 and a half games. Can't really say any player have put a foot wrong in that time with the exception of the James red card albeit against Forest that assist he made was too classy. Nkunku looked good, Caicedo starting to look like the Caicedo that Brighton had. Madueke I like but needs to be more consistent, played well tonight but can't say the same about the Forest game although I genuinely believe he'll come good.
Also special shoutout to Chalobah, not only did he play well, but glad he liked my IG post on my stories after the game where I tagged him and said I thought he had a good game.
Let me help you as another Chelsea fan explaining the reason - it's Connor Gallagher partnering Caicedo in the double pivot position instead of Enzo. And no, it's not "4 and a half games" it's 6 already. 6:0 Everton, 5:0 WH, 2:0 Spurs at home and 2:2 Villa, 2:3 Forest and 1:2 Brighton away. And yes, in the midst of those is the trashing at Arsenal with Enzo partnering as in shackling Caicedo and the whole team in the process which was the case all season long. See how easy the mystery was solved 😊? And no worries, Clownlake will sell our captain this summer and Poch will have to reinstall Enzo because he is a "baller" whatever that means in kid's talk so...don't keep your hopes for the next season too high.

Enzo was playing for us for 2 years ( with an injury I suppose) and our lot was 10-12 place for the period.
He is out and suddenly we are on pace belonging to a top 4 team with a squad that have, balance, backbone and pressing quality for the whole duration of the game.

When he returns on the pitch( that's inevitable under this ownership- price tag) don't be surprised by Caicedo for example "underperforming" again and us as a team fading and losing points after the 70th minute will ya.

Chelsea had one of the worst injury crises in the league and still we are going to finish in Europe that too Europa League. It is an incredible achievement for poch. How he managed this is just exceptional. He took us to the final of the league cup and semi final in fa.
And people who think the new owners came and spent one billion are a joke. They invested in talented players, once they start clicking, we can dominate for years. For eg - real Madrid. In the case of Chelsea if we kept our few older players and then did it, then we could have won a few trophies to shut the haters mouths.
But everything happens for a reason.
