I just want to say thank you and to let you know that I appreciate all the effort you put into these tying videos. You’ve singlehandedly sculpted me into a better fly tier. I hope you’re doing good, Tim! Take care.
Wood Duck flank is a favorite of mine for legs and tails as well. I live in a swamp with lots of wood ducks flying around - some of the ones that fly too close get invited to go fishing with me :-)
I talked to you Sunday morning at the show, you were tying a fly with wood duck feathers. You said The fly imitates a lot of bugs. Thank you for your time
I need to get more experienced with flank feathers. I know they have a ton of versatility for flies but I just haven’t gotten around to them. I will say I’m going to use mallard for the first couple dozen flies just to not waste high quality wood duck
A must have material, one of the few that I will go out of my way to get. While I can substitute dyed barred hackle fiber for tails, the legs on some ties just demand it.
Off topic but, Added a set of tiny alligator clips to the upper shaft of my secondary vise, now trying to work them into my rotator, frustrates me that there is really nowhere to add such a handy addition. And this was meant for Barry, lol wrong channel. See the "featherbender" but leaving it anyway.

You hit on my favorite feather! Utilizing natural Woodduck in a handful of various patterns has brought many trout to the net. Thank you.
