really enjoyed watching this + it was great just to hear all the natural sounds of ye working at sea and some crappy music, you've just got a new subscriber
@@CaptainAndrian I worked in Jersey for about 3 months, but I didn't earn much. there were 20 lines and we were paid per line... the captain was bad, and a bad person... a lot of work, little money. bad weather, tides, you don't work... you pay for the apartment. I would love to come back again, as a tourist😁 greetings from Croatia
@@CaptainAndrian Thank you so much for your response. You mean each line contains 60 traps (Cages)? and you drop 18 line per day in the sea? I am basically doing research work on noise exposure on fishing vessels. That's why I am interested to get this information.
@@CaptainAndrian Thank you for sharing this info. One last question. How long did the traps soak in the sea (I mean, how much time did you wait to retrieve the traps after dropping them in the ocean)?
Last 3 years need to pool the lines 2 times a week . Because not to many Crabs. In 2014 and 2015 we pool every day and we have same catch. Now just need stop fishing for 1 or 2 years ,the Crab to increase, and after 2 years we have again good catch like on 2015.
We leave in the morning at 3 or 4 until the evening at 17.00 18.00 15 or 16 hours daily now at the moment 4 5 days a week we work. the money is good, but not on all the boats, money is made, if the captain also tries to go fishing ... Where are you from ?

Hi, im a lobster fisherman from jersey and oh gosh the industry is crashing, we are losing much money and cant make enough sales as the fisheries keep making the limits smaller. Max , Jersey channel islands
Whelks! I love them! Better than lobsters! Wanna live there a year. It must taste better fresh than in Korea. Well, if I live there, I will go to the port every week and buy directly from the ship. Cooking is so easy. Just boil them with a few hot peppers. Yummy.
Great job keeping the ocean circuit going in the wright way🤗🤗🤗

Nice job..... 😎🎥😎

@@CaptainAndrian I'm sure that is damn hard work.
한국에 골뱅이를 수출해줘서 고마워요. 덕분에 싸고 맛있게 골뱅이를 먹을 수 있어요
what if the gear comes up twinkled together or you have problems with hauler? ;) Isn't is too risky to shoot it back at the same time?
since 2005 we throw directly into the water, of course it is more risky. If we think bad and at home we can suffer bad. Always positive
Nice video mate always wanted to see how this is done 👍👍
Can you tell me the number of traps and how many spots (or how many fishing grounds the vessel went to in a day) the ship went for fishing?
18 lines by 60 traps a day

How many days consecutively are you out, all weather dependent? Hours many hours each journey? Does it pay well. Sorry for all the questions!

Nothing better than hot cooked whelks fresh
👍👍👍👍👍🔥
I used to eat them as a kid, sadly later in life I developed an allergy to all molluscs..... so tragic....
I fish at the pier that boat stays at 🙂
Ffsm Why don't you just use a gaft. Your not in 70 mile of wind aboard a 140 footer
tide is strong, we are closer
