I’m currently living in UK. This is one of my favorite song. It reminds me of my old days when we were all in the family watching Humsafar drama serial in Hum Tv, those were my school days i miss my school and classmates and all of my family i miss my aunts who are married and living in their houses now and i living far far away from all of them. God i miss those days the family we had at that time when we were all living in the same house, it’s been 4 years i haven’t been to home back. this song reminded me of all of the good old times, it made me cry, everything changes 😢❤️.

Naseer Turabi wrote it in context of 1971, the fall of Dhaka and creation of Bangladesh. Here's a loose translation of this poem.
"When we parted ways,
Neither you cried nor I,
But, what is this,
A peaceful sleep since,
Has not touched our eyes?
He was my companion,
But not in harmony were we,
Like the clouds and sunlight,
Together but as apart as can be.
There were feelings of animosity,
Indifference,
And anguish between us,
My departed lover, had been everything,

Last time I looked into his eyes,
My poetry reflected back at me,
Verses, that which I had never,
Recited to anyone."

@@szenith4975 I was not there so I don't know the real reasons that led to the fall of Dhaka. I am not student of history and knowlege I acquire is not sufficient to give my point of view. What I have read in the books is so confusing. I would prefer not to discuss the causes, but it is a dark spot in our history. However, we are sorry if it was faulty on our part but you can imagine from this poem (written by a Pakistani poet in backdrops of separation) that people of West Pakistan felt the same pain. Deep inside us we still feel it. WE LOVE YOU and pray for you.
