      I cannot believe the plastic gears didn't crumble inside. That's 700kg*cm of torque, absolutely insane.

      @@arcsiz Maybe there's high amount of wear after prolonged usage. Still amazing any how.

      @@huytranvan2754 At the end, you can see that all of the contact surfaces have roller bearings, so I wouldn't expect too much wear at all. Though material creep might cause issues under load

      That's such a nice thing to say. I'm happy with it. Next is to replace the NEMA17 with a NEMA23 and see if I can lift 50Kg.

    Incredible torque

  • @HappyMathDad
    @HappyMathDad Год назад +1

    Since the belt reduction output torque is about 1.6 ft/pound you could replace it with a magnetic gear. I'm not sure what would be a more complex construction.

    • @PaulGouldRobotics
      @PaulGouldRobotics  Год назад +1

      I've played around with magnetic gears. They don't have much torque handling.

    • @HappyMathDad
      @HappyMathDad Год назад

      @@PaulGouldRobotics That's the idea. Combine both the first stage may be okay. But you got a belt. It could help with efficiency I believe.

    Would this work for building a robot arm like the ar4 robotic arm?

    • @PaulGouldRobotics
      @PaulGouldRobotics  Год назад +3

      The cycloidal might have too much backlash for the ar4. Maybe my anti-backlash housing design with needle bearings and extra timing belt stages could work.

      @PaulGouldRobotics  Год назад +1

      I use the KL-4030 (40V @ 3A) and the 17hs24-2104s stepper motor. TB6600 is better. What is your NEMA23?

      @@PaulGouldRobotics Thenk you for responding, i'm using JK57HS56-2504 nema 23 stepper motor with 1:19 reduction on my cycloid drive, and i could only lift about 4,5 kg on 15cm arm, wich is about 6,6 Nm, even on really low speeds. I didnt check the stall torque of the whole drive, but still i think thats really low.
      I've just find out that you reduction was 360 and know i understand that you couldev lift that much. Really impresive stuff.
