  • The New York City Metal Detecting Crew travels to Fort Washington Park in Manhattan to swing their Minelab Equinoxes and pull some silver. This park has military history and houses the oldest lighthouse in New York City. It can be seen at the beginning of this video. This park has one of the best views in Manhattan. We were directly under the George Washington Bridge.

Hi, my name is Merrill Kazanjian. New York City is an amazing place to go metal detecting. We have lots of parks, colonial history and great beaches for beach detecting. I have gone to all five boroughs of New York City To Metal Detect and beyond. I also currently own 16 metal detectors. I want to have the best and I want to help you choose the best as well. Below I will showcase some of the playlists on this channel:

It literally looked like you dug some of your holes with hand grenades in the last hour 😯😯😯. Bahahaha. Anyways, it’s a great video and shows guy’s that sometimes it can take a few hours to fight through the fill, and find the good stuff. Cheers. Thanks for sharing. And Happy Birthday Carlos

Currently I live in South Fl. Been here for 25 years. During the late eighties I purchased a Mine Labs detector. I have no idea what the model was as it was so long ago. I do recall the unit looking like it was a cheap. A white black and red small plastic box connected to the handle. Being it came very highly recommended by the owner of the store I bought the unit from which was outside of Poughkeepsie on route 55. I was an inexperienced detectorist but was very motivated as I lived in an area where there was so many places to find great targets. I was living in Ellenville Ny at the time right in the middle of where all the hotels were that were no longer in business. One of the first places I went was right off grounds of the Nevele Hotel. The Nevele hotel was a perfect place to detect. I was a former employee there and knew the owners would not mind if I used my detector on their property. I did have a cylinder shaped scoop that you twist into the ground over a potential target and pull out a perfect scoop of dirt to find your target. This was the way to dig without damaging the landscape. That day I was there I was using my detector on what was known as the Arrow head lodge which was one of the first buildings to be built on the property. There was a huge lawn or I’ll call it a field as it was huge but well maintained. I must have been the first one to use a metal detector there because I found all kinds of old and new coins from the early 1920s to the 1980s! One of the coins was a 1929 silver dollar! I found that coin under about 8 inches of soil. I had my friend Russell S. Who saw me detecting and came walking over. He was not there more then two minutes when I had the strong signal. He could not believe when I dug it up and we saw that shiny silver dollar in the ground! I must have found over thirty dollars in change on that field outside the Arrow head lounge that afternoon. Just recently I bought a used Mine Labs Excalibur 2 for 500.00. I had to put another 500.00 into the unit to change the coil from an 8 inch to I think is a 10 inch. I also had new coil wires, new head phones, new battery. The unit I’m picking up this afternoon from the shop I took it to should be working like a brand new Excalibur 2. Can’t wait to start detecting! I live not too far from Fort Lauderdale beach. The Excalibur 2 is known as the best beach detector on the market! I may trade in the Excalibur 2 for a more land based unit like a Mine Labs Equinox 800 or 900. Depends on how my unit works when I get it back. Have great detecting luck guys! I enjoy your content!
