David your mind is always seeing what could be not what is ......Great job ... I have learned something again.........Protect your DIGITS
+Gregg Voice of Reason cool, thanks Gregg ! 👍🏻✌🏻️
We are so used to buying tools. Thanks for showing how easy it is to make a simple, useful simple tool
+Mike Peace thank you for that nice thought!
I like the fancy music.
It never fails when working on a small project and you have Just enough materials, then you fuck something up and have to reevaluate!!
+Matt Lane ohhhh yes. Brings a little energy at least... Thanks matt
A classic :)
An easy way to reverse the ones you messed up is to select it with your mouse and hit "mirror" in the drop down :D
+John Heisz it's funny that we work in and out of that ability- from shop to computer. Thanks for watching John! I'll try rebooting the bandsaw, and closing some scrapplications..✌🏻️👍🏻
There's something strangely satisfying watching someone create tools out of scrap. Beautiful work.
+Mika Kuitunen I love to make use of free and abandoned things - always another form or use for many things- thanks
David once again you have designed and built something not only useful but really on certain jobs can't be done without them, and you did it all from scrap, thanks for bringing us along brother :-)
+Ron “Big Ron” Sanford thank you sir! Be well my friend
This is my favourite compass design from all videos I watched, ngl
This is such an inspiring series. I look forward to seeing what you two come up with each day. Y'all are a massively talented pair of dudes.
+Crafted Magazine thanks buddy! Keep putting up your content- you make great stuff man.
Appreciate it man! Hope to work on something with you at some point in the future. You gonna be at WIA?
I almost didn't finish the video from going back to when giaco yelled HA! every time David said whatever
Job well done David. Simple but effective way to clamp that sharpie onto it. One safety Sally remark. Wear a respirator or dust mask when working with Ipe. From the wood database: Although severe reactions are quite uncommon, Ipe has been reported to cause skin, eye, and respiratory irritation, as well as other effects such as headaches, asthma-like symptoms, and/or disturbance of vision.
+Norner Houtbewerking thank you for all the good info- I did feel irritated eyes. That's good info sharing and concern- not being a safety sally or negative! We can exchange good thoughts and ideas in a reasonable way- like this!! Imagine??..
+David Waelder you are more than welcome David. I like having you around in good health kicking out awesome videos with Giaco. Looking forward to seeing today's video!
good morning and great video the coffee maker must be on none stop these 30 days huh lol
+Juan Moreno we have three now. Cheers man thanks !
Never let Giaco mess with your creations again David !!
+Jean Paul ha - he cannot.
Pretty cool! I like it very very much. Beautiful piece.
Giaco's mad parrot impression in the background. 😆😆😆😆
+Richard Martin he laughs everyone I use the word "whatever" it's brilliant branding on his part to make the name so universal or whatever
+David Waelder aaaah
Giaco laughs at all the right times.
Whatever ;D
+Greg's Garage haaa! Nailed it
I really like the intro on this series of videos, evokes a sense of excitement and urgency.
+James Stanley cool - I like that - and left it sir more to be discovered- well just a couple things - since I would be using it ..30 times cheers dude
Big compass, little compass, always good to have. Nice project David.
+skycarl thank you!
Up from 6:50 i loved the music and the video...totally reminded me of master and commander, which i will watch tonight, thank you sir!
Nice way to start the story of a beautifully crafted circle-making tool, by designing it with a circle drawn with a humble paper jig.
That's a beauty.
+Wood Tools Workshop well thank you.
wow all the woodworking legends reacting on this video
+Bastian Brandsma thank you for tuning in
+David Waelder no! thank you!
Man I remember back in the 80s there was a chalk compass in every classroom.
The first ting I thought when you Nes'tea plunged the wood pile was Scrooge McDuck swimming in his money vault. A lot happening in this vid...good stuff!

Stumbled (happily) onto this... I may never be the same. Was havin' a rough day, but those random "HA"s made me piss myself. Thanks. Seriously, really good video and I can't wait to check out the rest. Thanks again.

Nice project! Everybody need this! I'm sure it will come in very handy for several years. Oh, and the compass side-project was nice too. (just kidding! It was all great!) I like your ingenuity and ability to come up with unique content under pressure (30n30). Next project should be making something from the scraps of this project (sharpen your tweezers). :)
+CS Wilson ha! Thank you, that's a funny ideas !!
I love IPE. This would look great with an aluminum sharpie...
Great idea to use the saw blade as a beading tool
1. Maybe just a little too much time on the scrap wood angel?
2. No router? Nice detail work with the circular saw... I guess.
3. I like the Sharpie, but will it hold a pencil? I like to use those kindergarten jumbo pencils in my shop. Bet that would work.
$.. Nice project. Thanks!
"scrap wood angels" ha!
Haha--Scrap wood angel--nice
Hey, looks like my scrap bin.
At the begining of this vid it looked like an episode from Jackass when you were doing that wood scrap angel in the floor, you even had that grocery cart hehehehe tnx for sharing it man!!!
+Emmanuel Lopez Ha!!!! Thank you for coming back
Cool. I could not figure out what you were doing with the aluminum until you actually put the marker in there. ha
+Bruce A. Ulrich thank you
Nice project, simple but you'll use it often. One thing, you should feed your bird, it kept making that crazy noise in the first few minutes of filming! Love the videos, thanks
Gwood morning!!!
Goooood morning
+Tiffany Johnson good morning Tiffany

David, you are on the edge of the bench, "black and yellow" border. What made it so?
Mark
Looks great but have you ever had an issue with sharpie ink seeping through the wood?
Love your project, keep up the good work
Nice video stile, raw and fun
halló from Iceland
never underestimate the stupidity of the internet troll
+Rúnar Sævarsson awesome, thank you from Italy and mostly NYC! Cheers
Awesome! Next video should be top ten things you can do with your Ipe Compass. Chopsticks, ring a door bell, poke your girlfriend, pick your nose, Billy's club, etc. Ha!
+RetroWeld thanks Douglas!
Where did you get that really thin chisel?
nice
Лайк за то что упал в кучу обрезков дерева и сделал ангела!!!!)))
Bravo. what is the largest radius you can make?
Awesome, please make it 60 days.
I like to vice jaws. Great idea! Did you really have those pieces of ipe sitting in the scrap bin? I never throw my exotics away until they are about the size of....sawdust particles. ;-)
+FarmCraft101 we got them from a local shop on trash day at the road- didn't have the footage to tell that part of story.
Look up the Piano Guys - for the cello music. Just as pleasing.
Beautiful compass, great video. My son wants to know how it points north;)
+Claterpult Workshop I ask siri- or look find the mossy side of the trees- or wait for sunrise or sunset - I haven't worked all the bugs out- smart feller you have there haha! Thank you
Very nice! If only there was an aluminum Sharpie somewhere, you can crank down on the screws without it breaching the barrel of the pen. :)
Not sure if you're being sarcastic and it's going over my head, but there are aluminum sharpies! I have one, and it's refillable. But it uses the fine point tips, which I don't like as much as the felt tips. I know they used to make aluminum industrial chisel tip ones, but I don't know if they still do.
+traderjoes ha nice reference - I already stole it.
+MegaSpyder13 Giaco whatever made a cool aluminum sharpie in his channel-- from the standard sharpie
David Waelder Oh, I know, thats why I said it hehehe
