Supreme Kai was the biggest letdown in the entire series

Part of Shin's problem is that his info is ten or so years out of date. If I remember correctly, he recruited Team Dragon because he heard they defeated Freeza, who was regarded as one of the strongest mortals in the universe. If he was aware of what happened in the Android/Cell Saga, he might have been more prepared. It doesn't help matters that Beerus, who could've helped, is also a lazy ass.
@@johnnygyro2295 I don't think the creators thought so much into the future. They didn't think of characters like Whis or Beerus back then. Had they done so, Whis would certainly have woken Beerus from his sleep to intervene because Majin Buu threatened Supreme Kai's life.

@@Sungura_Kaiser I think it's more he didn't expect Goku to have hit another milestone in SSJ3 yet, even if he didn't know for sure what it was. He just knew Goku was still far superior in power at the time and did not like it
@@blakeainley7489yeah Vegeta could hit ssj2 no problem but as soon as Goku gave yakon that energy drink haha it was over. I do wish that Goku didn't get ssj3 until way later because i thought it done Vegeta very dirty.
@@leftyshredder9289no he couldn't. Vs yakon Vegeta caught a glimpse of Goku's ability to go SS2, something only Gohan was able to at the time. He only allowed Babidi to control him because the majin power up allowed him to break through and also achieve ss2
@@ricksaburai wrong if you remember Vegeta talked about how Gohan had been slacking off when he went ssj2 vs Kibito in the tournament and he didn't seem the least bit worried about his power. And also when Gohan was fighting dabura he wanted him to quit so he could finish him off. He was already able to transform in the ssj2 but he still wasn't as powerful as Goku. Babidi only gives a power boost that's it. It would be ridiculous if you think about it that in 7 years of training Vegeta didn't ascend to ssj2.

I feel like Goku had already dealt with the "fighting in darkness" back in Dragon Ball at Fortune Teller Baba's tournament, but I'm only somewhat familiar. Really should read the original Dragon Ball at least, I liked the more fantasy oriented storytelling Toriyama did (which was an interesting shift from Dr. Slump being sci fi sitcom)
I mean, true, but I question whether those can be comparable.
@@Fate263 Honestly, I might've been mixing up the fight Yamcha had with the Invisible Guy, there's not really a fight in darkness in that tournament, if anywhere in Dragon Ball. The cliche is old, though

Nah, there are only two episodes that look bad in Super.
Also, the Universe 6 arc, which is before Future Trunks' return, looks amazing as well.
You nostalgia blinded fools really need to rewatch Z. There is so much terrible and lazy animation there. Goku vs Frieza has many moments where it looks like they just dragged still images across the screen.
@Zac Boyd Yes, only two episodes of Super had this low quality of animation as this scene here. And Z had a lot A LOT more episodes like this. Like when Yamcha and Tien fight the Cell Jr. or Vegeta attacks the namekian village. Hell, the majority of Goku vs Frieza looks like they just dragged two jpegs across the screen. Watch Z again and you see the crappy animation.
@Zac Boyd I'm just saying the animation isn't as poor as you make it out to be. And my point was that people hold Z up to this pedestal as a perfect series with no bad animation, which is blatantly untrue. Also the show didn't end because of "poor animation" or "poor writing", (the writing isn't bad for Dragon Ball standards), but because they wanted to concentrate lots of budget on the Broly movie. And that would not have been possible, if the show ran at the same time.
