In 2004, Adam Dunn hit a homerun out of Great American Ballpark, which bounced off Mehring Way and onto a piece of driftwood in the Ohio River, which is technically Kentucky. So, Adam Dunn's homer technically traveled from Ohio to Kentucky. ;-)
Champ Summers hit a Cubs home run that landed in my convertible as I drove on Waveland Avenue. I was on my way to San Diego. It technically traveled from Illinois to California. Amazing how that works, eh?
now there one for you out of the park is an understatement Adam Dunn not only out the park he hit it clean out of the state is that a felony or something.
I hit a home run during a wiffle ball game that went over my backyard fence and into Smackover Creek. Estimated distance about 124 feet. A monster blast!! 🤟
Ha ha that's Awesome when i was younger we would put tape on some of the holes in the ball and would be able to throw some crazy screwball ~Knuckleball type pitches.
OMG don't say that! The players will have to start wearing blaze orange vests at the plate, limit swings to no more than 6 and have background checks in every state for bat carry permits!
How could you miss Dave Kingman's blast in the Cubs-Phillies 23-22 game in '79. It went out of Wrigley and hit the porch on the 3rd house down the street across Waveland Ave.
Was at the game in Yankees/Astros game in Houston last July 21st when Judge hit one that went over the railroad tracks and would have left the park had the roof/window been open. The crowd made a sound I’ve never been present for before but will never forget. It was like an intake of breath and everyone said ‘Ohhhhhhhhhh!’ There were no longer Yankees and Astros fans, just thousands of humans united in appreciation of watching a human being do something extraordinary.
What would you expect. Judge is big. Ever hear of Frank Howard? He was bigger than Judge. He hit one in old Yankee Stadium into the left field upper deck that traveled well over 500 feet.
In 1971, Willie Stargell hit the longest home run at Philly's Veteren Stadium in its first year. The shot lasted 32 years and was still the longest home run at The Vet when it closed in 2003.

Color commentator Jim Northrup on the first homer. He was a hero of the 68 World Series and got the big hit off Bob Gibson in game 7. Also Kirk Gibson’s homer was called by Paul Carey, legendary announcer and voice of summer in the 70’s and 80’s in Michigan along with Ernie Harwell.
I met Glenallen Hill last year at an Albuquerque Isotopes game. He's their manager now. Got his autograph and mentioned to him how I saw that homer on tv. That ball was murdered.
Babe Ruth hit one out to center field at Tiger Stadium that landed in the middle of the intersection of Cherry and Trumball, about 575 feet. In 1921, Ruth hit homeruns over 500 feet in every American League park.
I hit one totally out of the Brewers Miller Park once. .Was working there briefly while the place was under construction. Stood about 20 feet from the fence in left field, tossed one up,gave it a whack, out she went and nothing to it. Always a point of pride knowing I hit one where few if any of the Pro's ever did.
8:22 I’ve been to comerica park on several occasions. Miggy hit this ball further than I have ever seen anyone hit a ball there. That’s literally the concourse where you walk into the stadium. Unreal.
My personal favorite home run to leave the ballpark entirely is Tony Perez's blast in Game 7 of the 1975 World Series in Boston. It was pivotal in bringing the Reds back from a 3-0 deficit in a game they won, 4-3. Perez's homer landed on Landsdown Street. It was hit so high that it likely would have hit the top deck at Riverfront Stadium. It was just plain powerful.
In game 2 of the 2002 World Series, in the top of the 9th, Barry Bonds hit a massive home run to right field off Troy Percival. From my seat near the right field foul pole, I saw the ball sail through one of the arches that form the outer perimeter of Angels Stadium and carry completely out of the stadium and into the parking lot. It was huge!
@@yrogergssenrah2938 You can look like the hulk, but if you don't have the eye hand coordination and skills to make contact and square it up, it don't mean a thing,. I thought I'd see some of Dave Kingman's monster shots he used to hit out of Wrigley Field. Some of them landed on the front porches of homes well beyond the corners on Waveland and/or Sheffield Avenues! Also, Willie Stargell was rumored to have hit the scoreboard at Wrigley -- which requires a minimum 540 foot shot, they say -- but it aint true. Willie was powerful, but NO ONE will ever hit the scoreboard at Wrigley no matter how hard the wind is blowing out. It's 400 feet just to the wall in dead center! A buddy of mine, Big Dan, hit a home run at Wrigley once that was awesome -- a liner over the wall to left center. No wind that day. "Big deal," you say. It was softball game. He hit a well-worn 16 inch Clincher into the bleachers. Yeah ...they didn't call him Big Dan for nothin'.
The greatest HR ever hit was Babe Ruths last at bat at Forbes Field in Pittsburgh. It cleared the stadium at the deepest part of the park in left centerfield. I read estimates by some who said it probably could have travelled over 650 feet in the air. A collossal blast by the one and only, "The King of Crash."
Kirk Gibson hit several shots OUT of Tiger Stadium's right field. That's one of the longest HRs possible. While right field was 325, the upper deck area that he hit over is 4 stories tall.Amazing shots.
So terrific to hear Paul Carey's call on the Gibson's home run. Needs to be in the broadcaster's wing in the Baseball's Hall of Fame along with his radio partner Ernie Harwell.
I cant remember the exact year, but it was the year Cecil Fielder hit 51, maybe 1990. I went to an A's/Tigers game and seen Cecil hit one that bounced off the roof of Tiger Stadium and went on out in left field. That same game, Cecil hit another one, McGuire hit one, and Canseco hit one. At the time, the A's were my favorite team so it was an awesome game. The Tigers ended up winning.
Mr. Spencer; Being from Detroit myself, u r actually SPOT-ON RE: Fielders HR ovr the LF roof. I remember the call from Larry Osterman (the PBP announcer on the Tigers' telecast @ that time). His announcement/reaction 2 it was priceless.
As a fun honorable mention, Ken Griffey Jr. hit the warehouse across the street in the 1993 Home Run Derby at Camden Yards, Baltimore. Also, the like 100+ "Splash hits" (*both giants and opponents) at the Giants Pac Bell / AT&T Park. I get how those are taken with a grain of salt as "out of the stadium" in a video like this though, because it's a lot easier to do it there as compared to most other stadiums.
Willie Stargell hit a few out of Jarry Park in Montreal into the municipal swimming pool (nicknamed by the fans "Willie's Pool 495 feet away. Upon his last game at Jarry Park he was presented with a life preserver in memory of all the swimmers he chased out of the pool. Willie is sadly gone and the Expos left town a long time ago but that seat is still there.
You got one in the river at PNC Park, but you missed two really impressive shots. The one Kyle Schwarber hit in the NL Wild Card game cleared the walkway and landed directly in the river in Pittsburgh. Another Cubs shot was the one that landed on the rooftop across the street from Wrigley. If not the Schwarber shot, the rooftop shot definitely should have been included here.
Legend has it that Dave Parker hit a home run completely out of Watt Powell Park when he played for the minor league Charleston WV Charlies, the ball landed in a moving coal car and was found in Cincinnati OH the next day.
There is something about the buzz when a visiting team player crushes one. The crack of the bat when one of those shots is mic'ed up right is priceless, too.
Chancey Colborn Exactly. Those belong in here, so this video would be far from incomplete. Unfortunately, they're all on the longest homers vid already, so it kinda makes this one irrelevant.
That was from the 23-22 game. And all three of the HRs Kingman hit in that game were monstrous shots. The first of those three was long enough that one of the people on the roof tops acted as if he was going to catch it, and the second was about 500 feet as well, as it went across Waveland Avenue, but the third one is the one most remember, because it reached the fourth house across Waveland Ave. If I were to add up the footage from Kingman's 3 HR that day, it would likely exceed 1500.
Jim Thome, massive monster blast out of Jacobs field. Went over the park out in center field, over the gates and landed across the street and into a park. If you stand where the ball landed and look towards home plate, you can't even see, people are smaller than ants. Crazy far.
Dick Allen did this more often than anyone in the video. He did most of it during the pitcher-dominant era and before outfield walls were brought in. Now if the Carpenter family that owned the Phillies during those years would get their heads out of their asses and release game film from that era, you wouldn't have to take my word for it.
Mickey Mantle it was said, that he had hit a ball out of every American League park in the 50-60's ... except Yankee Stadium. Can't prove it, but I saw him hit it out of 6 or 7 myself.
Can we appreciate that this dude actually put time to find these clips instead of all of them being McCovyCove home runs? ( McCovyCove is at at&t park.)
A good start, but need to create a part II to this. Other moonshots should include: - Reggie Jackson’s 1971 All Star Game blast off Doc Ellis which hit the lights @ Tiger Stadium, - Dingers going into “McCovey Cove” at Oracle Park in San Francisco, - Dave “King Kong” Kingman’s monster blast to the 3rd house on Waveland Ave on 5/17/79 out of Wrigley Field during the famed 23-22 game. - honorable mention (but saw no video of it), Mike Schmidt’s “single” off the rooftop speaker at the Astrodome 6/10/74 which, if not impeded by the speaker, may have travelled 500 feet.
What about Norm Cash? He did this about a half dozen times. Hank Greenburg also did cleared the roof a few times. The Tigers seem to always have someone who can hit it out.
That was the right field roof. Was done quite a few times.I remember Reggie Jackson hitting the light tower in the 1971 All Star game...Only three players ever hit it out over the left field roof...Harmon Killebrew, Frank Howard and Cecil Fielder..
I was at Tiger Stadium one evening when Norm Cash hit one over the right field roof. I was sitting in the upper deck between home and third and had a perfect view of the ball going over the roof. It went right down the line and it was a majestic shot. I don't care what they say about a short right field porch, the ball had to be hit hard and go up fast to get over that old weird chicken coop or whatever it was on top of the stadium.
Reggie Jackson crushed that one into the lights in right center at Tiger Stadium that was still on a line and going up when it hit the lights. That was a sizzler. Reggie Jackson and Norm Cash had similar swings.
This reminds me of myself at one time. I could do this most any time I wanted, no matter which stadium I was in. Actually, I could do it today, if I wanted to. It’s just a matter of good stance and keeping your eye on the ball. Yep, I can watch players hit balls out, just like these fans did ! 🇺🇸
The 2016 season is not even over yet, but I already miss Vin Scully. Also, where is the 1986 shot done by Reggie Jackson out of Angels' stadium? I was there for that one. Over the high wall in center field. It broke a car window in the parking lot only a few spaces away from where my family's car was parked. Brutal shot ... Must have gone 600 feet long and 200 feet up in the air before it hit the ground.
Jimmy Wynn had a homer fly out of Crosley Field in Cincinnati. Despite the blurry image on the telecast, the ball could clearly be seen bouncing on the freeway.
@@Pissgremlin5964 Right on! That's why it was so popular in the corporate/ financial world in the 80's& 90's after those drinks at lunch. It gets rid of the double vision quick.
Glenallen Hill’s homer out of Wrigley, over Waveland Ave and on top of the not very low building is the longest I have ever seen. It is on RUclips. Terrible quality but you can see the ball land on the roof of the damn building in the replay. Absolutely insane.
I had moved to Boston just a couple weeks before the All Star Game was held there in 1999. I dragged my girlfriend to Landsdowne St. for the Home Run Derby just to watch ball after ball off the bat of McGwire sail over the Green Monster. But any hope of actually GETTING a ball were dashed when I realized that most of his shots were sailing clear over the road and onto a parking lot instead. But it was still fun to see the ESPN guy trying to guide the crowd toward where the ball was going to end up. Every few seconds, he would just point in a general direction a few seconds before the ball would come into view
During the first Home Run Derby held at PNC Park in Pittsburgh, ESPN's Baseball Tonight crew had their set with the crew's backs were towards home plate; some of those balls sailed towards it and probably landed in the Allegheny River (the Baseball Tonight crew was clueless as to why so many home run balls were headed from home plate to the set).
In 2004, Adam Dunn hit a homerun out of Great American Ballpark, which bounced off Mehring Way and onto a piece of driftwood in the Ohio River, which is technically Kentucky. So, Adam Dunn's homer technically traveled from Ohio to Kentucky. ;-)
Back in the day a train used to go by Fenway a guy hit it on to it and it traveled to KC.
"An out of the state homerun!"
Hypothetically, someone could hit one into the bay in San Fran and have the tides and currents carry it to Japan, China, Australia, etc.
Champ Summers hit a Cubs home run that landed in my convertible as I drove on Waveland Avenue. I was on my way to San Diego. It technically traveled from Illinois to California. Amazing how that works, eh?

Now if the Carpenter family that owned the Phillies during those years would get their heads out of their asses and release game film from that era, you wouldn't have to take my word for it.
Simpson have the best homerun, he hit the firmament!
When you fool the cameraman, you know you've done something special. 💪🏼
only clicked bc of Camden yards as the thumbnail
Shawn Davis I did the same!
Unever Studios no way!
Yep. Mantle nearly hit a home run completely out of old Yankee Stadium. Unfortunately it hit the facade and bounced back into the upper deck seats.
Happens all the time at at&t. People actually sit out there in kayaks with nets and wait for them.
Keenan Bartlome yea
Mickey Mantle it was said, that he had hit a ball out of every American League park in the 50-60's ... except Yankee Stadium.
Can't prove it, but I saw him hit it out of 6 or 7 myself.
Missing Jim Thome leaving Jacobs Field vs KC
Can we appreciate that this dude actually put time to find these clips instead of all of them being McCovyCove home runs? ( McCovyCove is at at&t park.)
Fielders like father like son
Fun fact: The Mars Rover has 122 dents in it and the bill for damages was just received by Barry Bonds.
Where do the balls hit out of the stadium go?
Do they reach the parking lot and break someones wind shield?
obviously, it depends on the location and situation of the stadium.
A good start, but need to create a part II to this. Other moonshots should include:
- Reggie Jackson’s 1971 All Star Game blast off Doc Ellis which hit the lights @ Tiger Stadium,
- Dingers going into “McCovey Cove” at Oracle Park in San Francisco,
- Dave “King Kong” Kingman’s monster blast to the 3rd house on Waveland Ave on 5/17/79 out of Wrigley Field during the famed 23-22 game.
Reggie Jackson crushed that one into the lights in right center at
Tiger Stadium that was still on a line and going up when it hit the lights. That was a sizzler. Reggie Jackson and Norm Cash had similar swings.
0:11 that announcer is a goat 😂 and where's bonds, dunn, sosa and Andrés Galarraga
This reminds me of myself at one time. I could do this most any time I wanted, no matter which stadium I was in. Actually, I could do it today, if I wanted to. It’s just a matter of good stance and keeping your eye on the ball. Yep, I can watch players hit balls out, just like these fans did ! 🇺🇸
Sit down old man. You couldn't hit it out of a little league park. Stick to playing with trains
There were many others. Mickey Mantle hit one out of Yankee stadium, Norm Cash hit one out of Tiger Stadium and the list goes on!!!
Was sitting on the 1st line when Stargell hit one out.
Everytime I see an Astros highlight at home, I now assume that they probably knew it was coming.
Did we really need to spend 10 minutes on the McGwire homerun?
he is arguably one of the best baseball player's of all time. This whole video should be dedicated to him
He sobbingly admitted to cheating.
Yes, most indubitably.
+Bubba Love the only reason he had so much power was because he was on steroids weather it was illegal at that time or not it is still cheating
It's not cheating when anybody could have legally done it. Just because they chose not to is their problem.
Two best things in this video; seeing the Montreal Expo's (uni's) and hearing the legendary Vin Scully.
Michael Goronsky That would be freakin majestic, I want to see one that far at Suntrust Park from Freddie Freeman
Check this one also. go to 1:52:00. Looks like it left the park??
Jimmy Wynn had a homer fly out of Crosley Field in Cincinnati. Despite the blurry image on the telecast, the ball could clearly be seen bouncing on the freeway.
Strawberry's hit the top of the dome. How was that an out of the park home run if it came back in?
Darrel still not getting the respect, no replay.
brian versansky wow you are dumb
Better question is how did Straw-man ever generate such power - dude was a twig there. His swing was just sick back in his prime!
Hit the roof above the right field stands.
+Michael Goronsky (MG2K17) O stadium in montreal was not a closed dome when Strawberry hit the home run. They eventually tarped the stadium.
When wii sports was big (it still kinda is), i hit 10 of those :3
We can thank cocaine and steroids for a couple of those.
InConTruth cocaine?
@@0subscriberswithnovideosho388 Several players in the 1980s including Darryl Strawberry used cocaine during their careers
KroMcLovinFaSho i mean cocaine doesn’t really help you
@@0subscriberswithnovideosho388 have you ever done cocaine? Talk about being hyper focused. 😂. Like Bill Burr said, "you can see every stich!"
@@Pissgremlin5964 Right on! That's why it was so popular in the corporate/ financial world in the 80's& 90's after those drinks at lunch. It gets rid of the double vision quick.
4:45 that audio of the hit, sheesh. That ball was absolutely destroyed
Grandall's Mccovey Cove home run?
Glenallen Hill’s homer out of Wrigley, over Waveland Ave and on top of the not very low building is the longest I have ever seen. It is on RUclips. Terrible quality but you can see the ball land on the roof of the damn building in the replay. Absolutely insane.
All the McGwire homeruns should have an asterisk.
Oh well. shame him or bonds aren't in the hall of fame.
There's an out of the park hr in sf and Pittsburgh like once a week
there is a whole list of them
I was at a game where Harper hit one in sf
FAT DIP TIME No, it's a shame Pete Rose isn't in the HoF. Bonds and McGwire are cheating dbags and a stain on an otherwise amazing sport.
Boy oh boy Cecil/Prince Fielder had insane bat speed.
+dodgerfilms where are all of Bobby Crosby's out of the ball park homer's
Those are during batting practice
I love dodgerfilms
I had moved to Boston just a couple weeks before the All Star Game was held there in 1999. I dragged my girlfriend to Landsdowne St. for the Home Run Derby just to watch ball after ball off the bat of McGwire sail over the Green Monster. But any hope of actually GETTING a ball were dashed when I realized that most of his shots were sailing clear over the road and onto a parking lot instead. But it was still fun to see the ESPN guy trying to guide the crowd toward where the ball was going to end up. Every few seconds, he would just point in a general direction a few seconds before the ball would come into view
Yup, steroids are fun.
Kyle schwarber and Garrett jones say hello
Cecil Fielder. I never saw such a great all natural thunder stick as he in my 45 years!
Detroit is strong 💪
During the first Home Run Derby held at PNC Park in Pittsburgh, ESPN's Baseball Tonight crew had their set with the crew's backs were towards home plate; some of those balls sailed towards it and probably landed in the Allegheny River (the Baseball Tonight crew was clueless as to why so many home run balls were headed from home plate to the set).
