Good Times in Pattaya on Soi Yamato AKA Soi 13/1

- In this episode we check into the Cosy Beach Hotel on Pratumnak Hill before heading out for an evening on Soi Yamato. We will take a look at the hotel and amenities and also visit a neighboring eatery known as The Sky Gallery for a look around at the great views from it's cliff side location. Then it's off to Soi Yamato, also known as Soi 13/1. We start by enjoying a Japanese meal at the restaurant from which the street gets it's name. The staff tells me the place has been in business for 41 years and the food and service reflects that. Afterwards we visit an adjacent pub owned by a subscriber and have a great evening. Good vlogg mate, my 1st ever visit to Pattaya was at the Cosy beach in 2001, there was hardly anything in that area back then, we used to eat in the Wishing Well Restaurant owned by a Brummy called Richard..great days 🙂

the YAMATO restaurant was certainly in operation back in March 1983 . On my first visit to pattaya i tried the food it was excellent
i have been back many times.
The Bangkok bar used to be nice and sleazy bar ....now that was a great bar !!! great video

I have been to yamato rest. In the late 80’s. I had yakisoba,my favorite in Japan.

I have always loved 13/1 Stringfellows was my favorite! I also loved LaBamba bar and Bodega Bar! Oh and I loved The House Bar also! Not all of them are still there but they give me fond memories! Thanks for posting! If you want great sushi, check out Tsunami on 3rd road, they are great my favorite restaurant in Pattaya!

Hi Loucas, love your coverage of all tings pattaya, & may i say you pronounced Soi Yamato perfectly, even though im still amazed its still called that, as i was there in the late 80s & 90s & used to use Las Vegas go go bar too. Happy daze man, stay safe keep up the good work .
In 2018 and 2019 I spent the summer in Thailand. I based myself in Cozy Beach. It was fun watching at the beginning of your video as you approached your hotel on the main street road I am oh so familiar with. I saw all the places I used to eat as well as where I got massages. I also see some completed construction on that main street that was just started before I left last year. At 2:35 in your video you pan to the building that I stayed in both summers (the building in the middle of the shot). I watched as the brand new building in front of it was being built the last two summers. It was great to see my old "hood" again, and the changes. I spent a total of 6 months based there in cozy while taking side trips and hanging out in Pattaya. Thanks
I'd say you're one of the better reporters. They wouldn't hire you at CNN because you show good times though. Keep on going, man. I usually don't write a comment. I went to Thailand 32or3 years ago twice on vacation. You and my friends (I haven't yet met these friends personally), you're making me homesick. Even only being there for 5 weeks total and having bad experiences also. The good ones and the food canceled the bad ones out. Thanks man for making me kinda homesick. One more thing I have to add. She did damn good. I would send her out a lot.

I went here tonight, I've never had raw fish in any capacity before but the waitress busted her hump and the Miso soup, along with Yakitori and fish was very well prepared. I think they'd benefit from a louder music / ambience but overall this place was well worth a visit. Bin with 2 beers and girlfriend came out to about 1100 THB, well worth a visit I think. I never woulda found it without you recommendation, so thanks.

last year I was at the sky gallery, great sunset view! the food took a bit time to arrive. but it was really busy then. hard to find a taxi afterwards....

Natalie does not own it anymore she moved back to Bangkok I own it now come buy sometime and have a cold one.
Chocolate Factory is very nice and a great place for a date. You need to make a reservation to get one of the seats with the best view of the sunset if you go in the evening, but the other tables are good too and so is the food. They also have a store selling Chocolate. Yamato's main competition is probably Aka (in Central) and Fuji (Central and Terminal 21). There are some other Japanese restaurants around as well but are less well known in the Farang community.

Go and try Suggestions Restaurant. Best to go Sunday lunch as you can choose off the Sunday roasts menu and they do the weekly lunch specials menu too. My favourite in Pattaya. It's basically fine dining, without the formal feel and small portions, for 350b (if it's the afternoon anyway, evening menu is more).

"So Nice" is only refurbished, definitely not new 555. Used to be LasVegas II or III. I've known YoYo for years !
