Last Call BBS Part 1 - the first of seven unique games that make up the final Zachtronics game. Themed on an old computer with dial-up internet, explore the bulletin board system (BBS) to find out more about the computer's previous owner and manufacturers.

Wasn't fully sure about this in the video, but this game is basically an overview of Zachtronics' whole legacy, condensed into seven (or eight) games with a wide variety, usually centered around problem solving. This one's more in line with Hexcells, the next one will be more Opus Magnum. Stay tuned for a fun variety of games!

I can only hope that Zach's teaching will plant game design seeds that will ultimately result in even more awesome games than he could've done by himself. And at the very least, I'm not about to run out of his games to play... I'm stuck in like all of them except one :P
What's crazy is that he already taught remotely for a year and then quit in order to take another programming/dev job.
This is so satisfying to watch you play. You gotta recommend this to cracking the cryptic.

I had to keep reminding myself this is not Picross. I see a number of 5 or greater and begrudgingly mistake that the center of the row needs to be filled in when that rule does not apply within these types of puzzles.

Even in the mid 2000s (until around 2006 or 07?) I was dealing with dial-up. It wasn't as bad as it sounds back then. But now I'd definitely not want to use it since I'm used to faster speeds and methods. It wouldn't be bad if everything was available as a torrent, but a lot of things aren't
Slowest speeds I've ever lived through was 3G, but that was when I was very very little >_
Actually- I think there was a time when I experienced Digital 1X or something like that, it was really really outdated at that time tho
I'm only 14 so I've only used 4g and 5g but dialup doesn't sound too bad back a ways in time
I like how Tyler forgot that he was supposed to play multiple games, and just played the puzzle game

Yaaay Zachtronics! although this episode is less zachtronical, still enjoyed the puzzle nonetheless. This reminded me of those pen & paper puzzle I used to play on GMPuzzle. Knowing this is the legacy of Zachtronics, I feel like I'm able to appreciate it more.

Just pointing out at 7:40 - no you cannot set both boundaries because corners don't matter. You could've been sure from the top one because the left of it is the last block inside the room.

Are you sure, that your timestamp is correct? Because at 7:40 he is mapping out the treasure room, which is logically correct.
I think I somehow understand what you meant and no, there can't be 2x2 spaces so he was sure that the south wall had to be there as well
Yeees the 2x2 is for sure a reason! I missed it and understood that he were enclosing that tile BECAUSE there were an entrance there and not because having the entrance there would force it because of 2x2.

Check out "Please Fix the Road" - neat simple puzzle game that can get pretty challenging relatively quickly.

im really intrigued by a picross game break from the picross formula
the puzzles youd played couldve easily use like 1,2,4 and just have a good logic sense but no theres markers that tell specifics

There is actually one hidden rule: "There is only one solution" - the game never states this but it is true, and you can use this for even more deductions: An ambiguous situation means an a previous assumption was wrong, so you can reverse it.
If it doesn't have Tradewars 2000 it's not a real BBS.
