- Yesterday 3rd February I picked up a MK5 Golf GTI through BCA Nottingham, the car had been sold to We Buy Any Car so it was a massive risk! Did it make it home ok?
what a VW Golf great for the age buddy its a nice find i cant wait to see more Audis pal.
@@paul-k5q5z I think it's alright for the age mate. We'll see what I end up with but no Audis I want going through today
Nice car mate, but scary when it comes to the people buying them and warranty’s but I’m sure it will sell soon enough. As always mate keep up the good work.
@@WEFLIPANYCAR we will see! Not my Forte but who knows till we give it a go but yes I'm prepared for the worst
Great video Lewis, thats definitely a lot of car for the money, So id say a good buy.
@@wayne2socialmedia thanks mate me too!
My parents had Golfs when I was a kid starting with MK 1 GTi in red. I had a mark 3 (I think) as a company car in period also in Mars red replacing a BMW 316i. Wouldnt buy high mileage hot hatch though. It would have had a hard life. The aerosol sprayed alloys are indication of that. Would look better in factory silver.
@@MartynRogers-n7q I think red is a great colour for the gti. I'm not sure about hard life, it doesn't feel as worn out as I thought it would, seems to have had an older owner since 2013. Yeah silver is preferred for me too
Smart little car that mate for the money. MK5 will be a future classic in 10 yrs i reckon
@@midnightrider287 I'd certainly think so. Way better than the 2 generations before
They have aged very well looks wise, doesn’t seem like a bad motor
@@Budgetbangers yeah not bad at all for the age, I like them but I think I still prefer the Focus ST 2.5 😬
@ I’m probably more of a Volvo T5 man myself but that’s probably it much of a surprise 🤣🤣
@Budgetbangers just the noise for me and they do handle a bit better
Brave mate 😂 but fair play, looks a fair machine
@@CarsOnMyDrive not bad for the money I reckon
Nice car Lewis , had a Mk1 in early 80s was a buzz to drive , probably fastest thing iv'e ever driven 0 to 60 but it rusted out underneath
@@colinallen39 hopefully this one holds up a bit better! I definitely want to give it a proper blast on some back roads before it goes
@@FlippinMotorsUK sounds good
Nice buy : looks a well looked after car ! but isn't it time for another timing belt ? Two front tyres needed ?
Mark IV good for the auto gearbox.
Commiserations on the Boro result
🐈⬛
@@westendwatch I'm going to look into the timing belt, take covers off etc see if it has been done. I think I will replace the tyres as they're responsible for the noise not the wheel bearing
Perfect timing 👌
Aside from needing a few little bits here and there, this looks like quite a nice example. Though I'd 1000% get that timing belt done again
@@joespittle1 yeah it could be worth doing to attract the right buyers at the right money
@@FlippinMotorsUK Plus if you continue to build a reputation for selling well sorted cars it will certainly pay itself back in the long run!
@joespittle1 yeah absolutely, more long term than get rich quick
You did well there for say £2k, I would have took a punt at that one too, its smart for the money. I do like your partner's logic, better to be prepared than sitting at the side of the road regretting that you didn't. I reckon tidied up I'd put it at £3500 and see where you go, you can always come down but not back up, best of luck
@@graemew7001 very true mate. Even better news the wheel bearing noise is just tyre noise too! Yes we have women to do the thinking for us 😂
@@FlippinMotorsUK I've heard that kind of noise on mine here and there and realised its just tyre noise from crap roads. I'm single but I have OCD for that thinking thing, problem is you can get away from it when it starts jabbering in your lug hole 🤣
@graemew7001 yeah haha it's just cheap budget tyres on poor roads haha 🤣
Great video nice golf
@@simoncrookston459 thanks mate
Mate, you got heated tartan seats. That's so freaking rare!
Nice car I own one of these at 132k and a VW Van at 136k. As long as you change the oil you can't go to wrong
@@defibboy1 absolutely mate they're pretty tough engines overall
Might be a risk for buisness buying cars like this, but there certainly good for the youtube side of things! 👌
@@crg92 absolutely! I've had most the hot hatches I wanted from the Top Gear days now too 😁
Thats crying out for a new cam follower and new VVT timing chain mate please get it done!!
@@tomdowning6344 thought they had a belt on these earlier ones?
@@FlippinMotorsUKthey have both mate, right shit idea by vdub!
good car the mk5 golf gti
@Marcus-cf6xc agreed! If only it was candy white!
How much did you pay for it?
@@jay55148 1300 plus fees just over 1600
@FlippinMotorsUK bargain 👌
@jay55148 I'd say so, we'll see!
Nice car
@@funnymoneys8328 thanks mate
If you want my dealer advice stay away from old performance cars
@@DaleSteel agreed! I just get a bit excited when they LOOK cheap 😂
@FlippinMotorsUK the margins are good but issues can be expensive.
@DaleSteel and buyers expectations are way out I'd imagine too
