- being stuck in a period of consolidation is one of the worst things that can happen while trading. there is no momentum and price just seems to be moving sideways. Periods of consolidation in day trading are very difficult to trade. this is why I highly suggest people avoid consolidation at all costs. in this video I explain how to spot upcoming periods of consolidation in two different ways.

Periods of consolidation can be found in price charts for any time interval, and these periods can last for days, weeks or months. Technical traders look for support and resistance levels in price charts, and then use these levels to make buy and sell decisions.

My strategy is to try and enter after there are signs of a consolidation period ending. That’s when I start trades especially FOREX because it can catch those big moves after consolidation. Consolidation periods are basically my “time off” from trading

Angles cannot be measured on a price chart because the vertical axis units are not the same as the horizontal axis
The charts resize according to volatility so the same movement will appear different depending on atr at the time

Agreed, consolidation means that the big boys are accumulating before a big move in their desired direction. What you can do is to place pending stop buy and sell orders on both sides and then just wait.
That stupid, cuz you can be taken out on both sides
Agreed but something I have noticed is that when price breaks out, it will go in a certain direction for a bit and then go the opposite way which is the true direction, its frustrating.

I have been watching your analyses everyday. Can you clarify one thing. Ex: when should I enter a trade when 1 hour divergence shows a bullish momentum but 15 min divergence shows a bear momentum. Which divergence should I follow? Thanks again, you are the best teacher.
you should always follow what is on higher time frames since it carries more weight, then use your lower time frames (entry time frames) to enter your trade
