I’m waiting on an intake boot to put together my MAKITA 6401. It’s open port with a piston port. I cleaned up the piston but really didn’t know what to do with the cylinder until now Thanks Tinman
Yo Tinman thanks for sharing knowledge on my old 268 I've learned some good pointers on the timing now 👍😉 I've lots to learn ,thanks for an easy to understand video mate
I really really enjoy the content you are producing working on this class of saw! I am now up to 4 266's. The 268 is very hard to find in my area.Keep up the great work, my friend!
i'm kinda getting stacked up myself! i have 4 on the bench waiting for parts and 1 more to teardown!! Take Er' Easy! ps. thanks for the link to roy for the 630 oil pump seals!
Just tore down a 272xp serial #1380411, on the tag. I'm thinking it's a 2001. Replaced the crank, bearings and seals. New oil line, oil filter, pump and AV mounts. It's getting a new trigger assembly, clutch, mag, coil, top end, plug, filter, fuel line, fuel filter, the newer style gas cap, carb kit, new 20" bar and chain. I could be changing the carb in the end, the jury is still out on the carb. Still have to do the timing numbers and squish with the new top end. Maybe a base gasket delete. Basically a new saw. Definitely cleaning up the piston, chamfer all the edges and polishing the exhaust port. Not sure if I'm brave enough to do any real porting on the cylinder. I'll see where the numbers end up. It was basically a carcass, it was completely siezed, definitely a turd saw but it will be a shining knight when I'm done. Tinman, I'll send you a couple pic. Again the 268, 272 builds are my favorite love seeing this content. Thanks for all your sharing. TC Mahalo Tinman 🤙🤙🤙
Hey tinman, as I’ve gotten more experienced, I sort of like to use a wider ray of light…kind of like the intake since you can’t ray of light it if that makes sense. Is it more a method of consistency or does flow actually begin at first ray?
Rebuilt an ms360 and an ms210 between the two I used needle nose the bar remover wrench (has a flat blade and two socket sizes no clue what it’s actually called) and a t27 did a complete overhaul on both
+++++++++Hello. Is it possible to install a cylinder and piston from 268 on a Husqvarna 66??I know the carburetor throat needs to be replaced.I would like to know if there are dimensions and width of the hole on the cylinder for installation same as on 66.Thank you for the answer and have a nice day.
what's a 266 or 268 worth after a meteor piston and a good break-in? i have both and 266 has a meteor, 268 is stock running but a bit low on compression. Which one should i sell off?
You said there’s not enough mechanics out there there not enough of anyone, to get truthful with out bein too political, there’s more of us than them but we still let them push us around 🤔

Nice side by side comparison, I appreciate and admire the detailed notes you take on stock saws before and after porting
Thanks tinman!
Great video! I learn something everytime I watch one of your videos!!
One request for a vid on what you do with these open transfers. Great stuff as usual man 👍🏻

Very interesting how many different variations of the 200 series husky offered! Hopefully the plating doesn't continue to chip.

Good stuff man!
Great video as always. Question for you TINMAN. What full wrap handle do you have there on that 268? Is it a modded handle off another Husqvarna?
The transfer ports are very similar to McCulloch transfers.
Yes I agree. Very similar

Hello, luv watching your videos, have you ever put a 268 topend on a 266 ?
Love your work!! I have had such a good education from you. I almost know what I'm doing 😂
Keren bos 👍👍 saya suka mesin husqvarna
Hey Tinman, I asked you on the comments on your last video. About exhaust ports. Why does it raise rpm when raising the exhaust port.

what model saw is that full wrap handle for
99 bottles of beer on the wall, 99 exhaust open port.
What's the difference in a 266se and the 266xp? I have owned both but never had them apart at the same time.
Pretty sure theres a video on that in my 266 playlist.

helpful video, and very informative.
