Wonderful video. When I moved into this house 20+ years ago there was a twig of an oak tree, a little lilac bush that had two blooms on it, and another tree that I was recently told is a kind of redwood. The lilac bush was transplanted to the other side of the garden, has become huge and produces the most abundant, beautifully scented blooms you could ever imagine. For some reason it blooms after all the other lilac bushes in the neighbourhood have died off. I have done nothing with the other two trees, but the oak tree is trying to reach the sky. I left the lower branches to grow naturally. It's the most gorgeous tree. I love it, and would gladly do something to have it protected when I eventually move from this house, if I only knew how. The leaves get little circular holes in them but I find no evidence of an offender. The redwood takes a lot of abuse from an army of squirrels but continues to bend and straighten in the most impressive ways. I would love to know more about trees. I'm shamefully ignorant of their identification, needs, and who knows what. I'll bet I'm not the only one.
Very nicely presented there. ❤️🔥 I’m having trouble because I’m looking for smaller trees. Every time my research tells me I’ve got the right one, I see that they get much bigger after even more research. They are advertised as small trees! 😮 I would like something that stays 10-15 feet. A monster is simply good. Maybe there is no such thing as a small tree, and I should just buy a hydrangea on standard, a lilac, or a crepe myrtle. 🤷♀️ Take care. ❤
Thanks for a nice video! I have always wanted to plant a Stewartia! Strangely enough it is very rare here in Sweden, but I know it tolerates the climate in the southern parts. The Cornus cousa is nice as well, there are so many nice Cornus out there, both trees and shrubs. Luckily for me, I just bought a cottage with a big garden, and I have lots of space for both sun loving plants, as well as woodland ones. I´m planning on documenting the progress in my garden on my channel, and hopefully I´ll manage to prepare some areas for planting this fall! So looking forward to it!
@@PlantedwithIanCooke Sweden is a long country with many climate zones just like in the US. I think my area is similar to Minnesota, maybe a little bit warmer. But just guessing.
I have a still very small tree of the Stewartia pseudocamellia variety. Only 1.60 meters high. He had only a few flowers and these also last only one day, then they fall off. Is this normal for such a small and young tree? Also, it grows very slowly. Thank you for your answer.
@@PlantedwithIanCooke I have planted this out since spring 2016. The same year he already had flowers. The years in between none and this year less than 2016.
Yes I have one I planted 15 yrs ago, the flowers typically last 1 day and drop. Be careful not to overwater especially during flowering as one yr I believe I caused all of the buds to drop off before they opened. It may have been from the chlorine etc. in my town supplied water or simply from overwatering.
My three favorites as well! Thank you, Ian!
They are very special
Three very amazing trees. I love it. 👍🌳💚
Thank you. Is your first name Myrtle?
@@PlantedwithIanCooke No, it's the name of my favorite plant. 😀

Do you know what temperature range in Sweden is similar to the US?

How long has your tree been planted? Did you plant it.? Young trees will flower, it’s not unusual.
