What did you think of Sapp's performances here??
Free Legendary Strategies: www.lawrencekenshin.com/
So, did Tyson ever fight Sapp or Hoost?
Do u think Sapp used anabolic steroids to get to his Size? Sapp was really fighting with heart and with a good strategy. I think it was a bit unnecessary of him with his illegal moves and him hitting after the Bell ring.. 🙄
@@itsm3th3b33 unfortunately not
@@Instant-mygamingclips yes no need to be full gorilla mode like that

That was crazy. 3 fights in one night! Times were savage back then...
Super savages
Same night is unbelievable
K-1 is still doing that now. Sattari won the Openweight Grand Prix earlier this year.
When men where men. K-1 needs to start up again !!!
@@PatkaBoy831 is K-1 still in business??? Thought it was gone ??.
Those liver shots from Hoost are a thing of beauty, thanks for bringing us this amazing compliation!
Thanks for watching Scott!
On one hand, they were awesome to watch, but on the other, they gave me phantom pain. Jesus that had to hurt
@@me0101001000 probably had his opponents pissing blood for a week.
Real nasty left hooks to the liver stomach or kidneys delivered perfectly is a giants worst nightmare. I know this cause I am 6ft 5in and 275lbs and used to fight allot. The most important lesson to learn as a big man is never let your ego take over, never underestimate your opponent especially if the opponent is a foot smaller than you cause if you do fight a smaller person and you overestimate your skill to beat them just based on your own size strength reach ect than you are in for a very painful lesson cause even though that person is smaller they have an advantage over you, because while having a longer torso can be an advantage it is also a disadvantage cause while you protect your face you end up leaving allot of room for the smaller opponent to rain hell on your abdomen especially if they have good technique. Floating rib shots and liver shots are so fucking painful and if done right it can bring down giants like me or Sapp anyway of the week.
@@NostalgicNickyNYC I mean Sapp had broken ribs and they stopped the fight and made Ernestoo lose : p unfair faight
Those tournaments were insane! Multiple fights with different opponents was madness, but so great at the same time
Yes the best nights

Real life mortal kombat
Your enthusiasm, compassion and knowledge of combat sports shines in this video. Amazing retrospective of these two legendary fighters. As a viewer you can feel the energy of the time. You're a truly gifted storyteller. peace
Thank you 🙏
nice fake bot account. u are barely a figther. just a smart youtuber
@@Dualities ?? lol
@@Dualities Not a bot. You do give me way too much credit for considering me a fighter or smart. Gosh no. Growing up in the '90s and '00s without cable and less access to the internet I was blind to Pancrase, Sumo, K1, Pride, Muay Thai and their fighters. I was one that only thought of Bob Sapp as a flopper. However, this video shown me that Bob Sapp was a real fighter that trained hard, an entertainer that always brought interest to his fights. A fighter that would give respect to his opponent win or lose after a fight. He may have not have all of the Bushido virtues but he was warrior/fighter. Lawrence Kenshin and channels similar to his, brings back to life those matches and fighters that I was not aware of. He brings appreciation to their training, honing in their craft, strategy that I know nothing about. He brings these fighters and matches back to life. Growing up I recall my father telling me he just saw Rick Roufus elbow an opponent that knocked him out. Thanks to channel like this, I can share with my fathers enthusiasm. I am just a member of the YT community practicing my writing/ communication skills. peace
"A nut shot was the best way to take him down" lol laughed so hard.
😂😂😂😂
The respect sapp showed at the end towards hoost gave me more respect for him.
such a great moment
he may look like some fool underdog that has more l's than w's,but he got respect.
This is such an amazing story. I love both Sapp and Hoost. I am glad they laughed and wrestled together. Honor and respect.
I was one of the lucky ones that watched these fights during the Golden Era. Ernesto Hoost was one my absolute favourites. His left jab, right cross, left hook to the body followed by the chopping right rear roundhouse to his opponents’ left leg was a technique I practiced frequently, and still work on. Hoost’s execution was beautiful and viciously efficient.
I like that combo, or a left body rip instead of a left hook.
Did hoost fight badr?
He was nothing, nothing I tell you, compared to the Beast!
Dude this was your best production yet. Totally gripping. Great work.
thank you so much andrew!
Beautiful breakdown! Thanks for covering this saga!
Thanks Thomas!
Saw that video a long time ago. Bob Sapp was an unstoppable rhino and Hoost was trading shots too much and shelling up being stuck to one place and pelted relentlessly instead of utilizing constant footwork and angles to catch him with sniper blows.
If Hoost utilized Saenchai's techniques and Lerdsila's evasive skills, he would've tagged and deck Sapp to the ground much more easily. After all, it is better to make them pay when they miss, especially from a humungous beast like Bob Sapp!
styles make fights!
not unstoppable 😉
ruclips.net/video/rpsVNjfBHN4/видео.html
Just look at how Cro Cop beat Sapp he didn’t stand in one place nor allow Sapp to push and get on him.
Great job on exposing these amazing fighter stories to new generations, I wouldnt have known about it otherwise.
love the commentary man
Thank you
Such a perfect and wonderful video! Thank you for compiling the story so well for all of us.
Thank you so much
Thanks to you I am now able to understand more clearly the rivalry between the two.
It was all on the same night.
You're right SAPP was more than a brute beast. Props to him !
And Ernesto is way to clean lol
Thanks for watching!!
great story and great video mate. thanks for uplouding such a pro content
🙏🙏
I'm watching your vids instead of being on Netflix. Your storytelling is immaculate!
thanks so much ahmad!
Wow, I can't believe I missed these fights years ago
welcome back in time!
It shows also the deficiencies in old-school Dutch kickboxing. Dutch-style kickboxers are tough MFs who can deal out a lot of damage and their defense is mainly being tough and able to absorb a lot of damage with their shell guard, but they're rather bad at avoiding damage. Sapp just bull-rushed Hoost and thus didn't take much damage but still could dish out a lot of damage. Hoost should have used footwork, sidestepping, and getting out to avoid Sapp's haymaker instead of shelling up but as he wasn't used to being elusive, he couldn't.
Just like what Cro Cop did when he fought Sapp and broke his eye socket.
I never knew Hoost existed until I saw this video, thank you for sharing!🤙
thanks so much for watching
Another banger as always❤
thanks so much for watching
Great content, Lawrence!
Thank you
18:58 This made me very emotional
Why’s that :)
@@LawrenceKenshin Sapp showed Hoost that all that bad blood had absolutely no place being between them, that there's mutual respect and even admiration from Sapp to Hoost. And Hoost accepted this at that moment, with great humility.
Seeing Sapp throw those quick ass low kicks on that punching bag is terrifying🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
i know right
Mr Perfects combos never cease to amaze me, timeless striking.
Amazing technique
I actually prefer the Dutch way of leg kicks than Thai It seems to go out more wide then slam through the side. Great breakdown again Lawrence! U have to go on the joe rogan podcast
Thank you Jack. Maybe one day if he wants to have me on :). Both the Dutch and the Thai way are great
dutch are better at not being midgets
I'm so happy I grew up in the K1 Era. All nostalgic here. Good one mate!
the best era
That would of been amazing to watch him and Tyson fight !
thx for this
Amazing video !
What a huge demonstration of mental strength from hoost! And such a cool happy end too. This cracks me up 😁❤️
haha thank you
This is an excellent video! Fantastic fighters.
thanks so much
Sapp made Hoost pay for his viciousness as kickboxer.
tough fights for sure
Very interesting , love your videos
Thanks so much
Josh Barnett strong enough to just pick Sapp right up is one of the more impressive things in the vid.
Very impressive indeed
josh is freak strong, he picked up nogueria in their 2nd fight, and slammed him from a weird position.
That was really nice; thank you.
thank you for watching Joe!
Great video. Thanks
Thank you
the historic knowledge and great insight to the striking universe is what keeps on being able to enjoy this content more and more.
thank you so much
Ernesto Hoost, Peter Aerts & the late Andy Hug. Those were the days 🙇🏻♂️
Ernesto, Ramon Dekkers and JWP are my 3 all time favourite fighters.
another great breakdown
thank you
Awesome
thanks for watching
That's disappointing. I'm always with the smaller guy and was thinking Ernesto is gonna win but that was Prime Sapp. He took fights seriously back then.
Yes never underestimate athleticism with a great camp
@@LawrenceKenshin great????
Tbf, he's the real winner of their second fight
But Cro Cop made him cry.
I remember seeing one of their fights. I was scared for Hoost. As I watched this work of art, I noticed Sapp didn't throw any leg kicks, Imagine if he would've.
Imagine a flying knee
It's criminal that their second fight got stopped like that. The fight was NOT over.
Very masterclass ,very epic .
Thank you
So epic!
🙏
Bob Sapp is awesome. I crack up every time I watch him fight.
hahah awesome showman for sure
This is Epic.
cheers!
I'm a big fan of the channel. I've searched, but I haven't seen any videos covering Alexey Ignashov. He was my favorite heavyweight kickboxer.
Thanks! Alexey is great
Amazing

Lotta back of the head shots

Not sure if you're into videogames but I have all the K1 titles for PS1 & PS2. The Konami PS2 titles in particular were excellent as were the later PS1 games too. Being able to play as Branko Cikatic and Michael Thompson in the early titles right through to the likes of Badr Hari in the later ones. Utilising Tekken's limb per face button attack method, they were great fun with a Bob Sapp specific edition released in 2003 💪
Looking forward to future content and sifting through your back catalogue. Osu!
I miss this era of kickboxing 💥💥💥
same
The legend :)
legendary
I remember watching Hoost on eurosport K1 😊
Great video. My memory is faulty because I thought I remembered Hoost beating Sapp in the rematch
Thats because he did.
Bcuz he literally did
K1 history, makes me bit emotional 😢
Can you do a video on Branko Cikatic? Or Cikatic vs. Hoost both times?
That was an excellent episode. Thankyou for your awesome content. I'm can't help just imagining Bob Sapp and those tiny Asian female fans.
thank you so much
Mr Perfect Body Shot, Love It!
Absolutely awesome video 👍🏽
Thank you
Unreal performance for this guy. Superhuman.
big time!
its easy to be the best in fighting when you outweigh your opponent by 150 lbs, while maintaining a shred of athleticism. For Hoost to be able to break his ribs and take him out, this is the real testament to fighting prowess.
BULLSHIT. Go and find ten people who outweight heavyweight boxers mma fighters or kickboxers for 150lbs and no matter how long they would train they will never beat world champions
If weighting more and more and more would give you advantege then people like Wilder would never be heavyweight champions while being like 98kg
Looking back id love to see Sapp vs Lesnar. Striker vs Wrestler but of equal size.
What a legend Hoost is.
if it's not him they sure do favor! Great video.
🙏🙏
Sap is a mad elephant lol
BEAUTIFUL HISTORY
Thank you for watching
The amount of muscle on that frame, even if it he is not skilled he is dangerous
Man he USED to be a beast
Biggest beast
the longest yard is a real fighter? you learn something new everyday! "Broketh my nose"!. Very informative ✊🏽💪🏾💪🏾✔✔
Haha 🙏
The golden age of K1 , Eurosport had it when I first got multichannel tv , good times
🙏🙏
Japanese commentators gives an anime feel to the highlights. It's like Saudi Arabian football commentators. You don't know what's being said but you feel it 😂
I've been caught with that left arm kick trying to throw a jab. Functions now, but was OOC for months
hmmm. Which part shows his fight against Tyson?
I think it’s fair to mention that this era was known for fixed fights. As much as 70% of the fights were fixed
If you think anything showed here was fixed, you're deficient
@@davidjones8043 how about do your research before making that statement. This era of mma/K1 had a very dark well known and well documented secret. It was estimated that a one point 70% of all these Japanese matches were fixed: specifically the main events. Learn your history before you come at me. Mark Colman has all but admitted this publicly as well as Bas has spoken about it but didn’t participate. Just because it hurts your feelings doesn’t mean it’s wrong. Facts over feelings. This era witch is highly praised and regarded as the golden era has very dark secrets tied to the Yakuza. This involvement would ultimately be the cause and fall of Pride leading to the sale to the UFC.
Can everyone imagine that he retired after Ernesto Hoost wins... Go like one of greatest.......🔥🔥🔥
Plot twist : Bob Sapp actually wasnt really hurt .He knew what was up and did the Noble thing.
That would be cool
He's celebrating like someone who has no problem breathing, raising his arms, or twisting. All symptoms of a broken rib.
@@damienthetexasian6827 dude, can't you just accept that he had actually lost the 2nd fight due to damaged limbs?
@@enterurnamehere27 just reading the evidence shown
@@damienthetexasian6827 bruh, the doctors confirmed this. Also, in the immediate aftermath, Hoost is still in good shape and could walk and fight well, while Sapp have to had people helping him to walk. That doesn't seem like a man who's in a good shape.
Also, the symptoms of a bruised/cracked ribs include: strong pain in your chest area, particularly when you breathe in
swelling or tenderness around the affected ribs
sometimes bruising on the skin
feeling or hearing a crack if it's a broken rib
Also, he didn't just broke his ribs, he broke his hands too, . Also, when he's celebrating the victory, he doesn't show the same cheerful face when he celebrates in other places and times, seems to me that he's that injured
His *(Bob Sapp) fight with Ray Sefo was epic lol. Sapp vs Cro-cop too.
So inspiring... osu 👊
imagine if we had Mike Tyson vs. Bob Sapp that night!
When I watched it back in the days I couldn't believe it, all my friends said it was a work.
its real brother, there was sketchy reffing tho
@@LawrenceKenshin I was already 15 when I saw the fight on the internet and I still had to go to the toilet to cry.
@@LawrenceKenshin You have to do a segment on punches that look like Sapp's, or like George Foreman's slo-mo punch that landed on Michael Moorer's chin. It looked like it had neither travel distance or speed, but somehow there is enough mass behind it and Foreman had enough motor-nervous-mechanics to do an "inch punch" from that distance
If Lerdsila was there he would've defeated them both 😂 Mr ultra Instinct 🔥
hahahah
Just a detail: Sapp didnt advance in the tournament not because of broken ribs(there were none), but because he broke one of his finger punching Ernesto into KO. There's even a video of Sapp after the fight saying this and showing his broken finger.
Sapp sucks now, but back in the day, when he actually cared, he was a beast.
the beast!
I think after a certain point he got paid to take dives, for a spectacle. With his size and aggression and smothering strategy, he should've been unstoppable for years.
Approach the big moster and whisper in his ear : run bob. Run. Mirko is in the town
"I will rock your body with big nasty hooks" lmao
Damn, Sapp took a ridiculous amount of punches, he had a good chin back then!
What a boulder star
Sapp : hey Tyson i challenge you
Tyson : You'd better to prepare your funeral 🤣
lol
According to Lawrence every great kickboxer is “the greatest” lol. Love your videos and breakdowns nonetheless
thanks! if you go to interviews and wikipedia pages, you'll also see lots of "greatest of all times" - this is definitely very subjective. "one of the greatest of all time" is a slightly better way to put it... but it's hard to title and thumbnail.
@@LawrenceKenshin ur right. And those u mentioned as “greatest” definitely belong in that conversation. Thanks for clarifying!
Bob is like shaq
Haha
I have to wonder if Bob ever rewatched his fights? His punches were just so awkward looking. How great he could have been if he knew how to at least throw a proper punch.
If he remained coachable, as he was here, he would’ve beat everyone. Keep in mind he was facing Hoost less than 6 months of training and fighting
@@LawrenceKenshin could you imagine?!
He was at the start of his career as "fighter". Sapp having been a former US football palyer
@@LawrenceKenshin i think Bob was a force and with some more training he would have been even better. But i don't think the "Bob Sapp type of fightingstyle/physice" would be able to beat everyone. If you are over 300 lb and rushing in like a bull there are limits to how long you can do this, even with the best cardio training. I think this would cause him lots of problems against fighters who can withstand the inital bull rush or even worse punish openings with heavy 1 shot hits like Cro Cop did. So the consequence for Bob would be to not rush in against heavy hitters and therefore loose one of his strongest weapons or to get lighter and therefore loose the other one of his stronges weapons.
But who knows. Maybe propper coaching would have transform Bob in a monster, which can avoid heavy single hits while just needing one rush to end each fight?
I'd love to see a fight between early Bob with motivation and heart (which i think Bob showed a lot of in his first fights, especially in his second fight against Ernesto) against the one and only Reem in his uber form.
@@makoko6812 that bull rush would not work vs Mark Hunt back then, bull rush into a over hand right that would sleep a rhino.
Guy was just a pumped up bully.!!
Anybody know what is the weight difference between these two?
Approximately 350 lbs to about 210
Remember watch both matches pay per view....never notice Josh Barnet was a corner man for Sap
2nd fight was definitely bad stoppage. Hoost could've kept going but man went on to fight 2 more guys that night. His style works well against other kickboxers but against a giant beast he should've adapted to fighting in the pocket like Mike Tyson. Also would've been interesting to see Mike Tyson vs Bob Sapp. Might've been the first time Mike get knocked out or vice versa
Not friends but family!!!
