#ep1 #Capitalism #Teardown
Arin driving through a random wall and destroying the one thing he needed to easily access the the end of the mission is the most Arin Hanson thing he could possibly do.
I thought the same thing😂
He actually didn't although he definitely made it look like that, I've played the game recently, there are no stairs up to that door, you have to make your own way up there
@@brutalbattaglia0that coincidence makes it even more hilariously perfect!
I watched a few playthroughs of this, and i seem to remember there are no stairs, and you do have to find a way up, where most people work with the cherry picker thing Arin seemingly refused to turn and look at.
Right next to getting in a bulldozer and immediately driving it into a canal.
Arin’s Kool-aid man energy can *finally* be put to good use ☺️
I just clicked on this video and saw this comment lol I'm going to be so sad if arin doesn't bust through something and say oh yea🤣
I just don't get how it took 20 years since red faction 1s full destructible environments to make a game like this haha, we loved destroying everything and burrowing tunnels as kids
Terrible quality in a forklift operator, excellent in a teardown
I was the same when I played it until the game became a time trial bs, it gets very very annoying quickly
@@KaladinVegapunk Well, for a start Red Faction still had non-destructible objects. RF1 and 2 was largely underground so that limited the amount of stuff they needed to render. RF Guerrilla only had fully destructable buildings. You couldn't dent the ground itself. Minecraft popularised voxel technology so it took someone applying that to destruction physics. And it's not like Red Faction was even a pioneer. Mercenaries Playground of Destruction did destruction on a larger scale, for example. Noita has a similar system as this game, only pixel based rather than voxel.
Basically, the answer is technological limitation and ambition.
I feel like Arin bought a couple hundred games during steam summer sale and is now playing through them all.
So your saying he bought too many games, now they have to play them all.
_Steam Train?_
@@CaptainCFalcon choo choo
This is a stick-up
And Dan literally mentions that he misses Ross, coincidence?!?
Dan kept calling "Steam Train" "Game Grumps" so many times it's finally manifested
I appreciate how this game just immediately dumps you into a tangled web of subterfuge, intrigue, and deceit.
Them both giggling in unison at the first explosion is peak game grumps chaotic energy lol
"Lets just clear the path" says arin as he leaves the gigantic construction vehicle in the middle of the path
Watching him painstakingly hammer every inch of that house like 50 feet away from the heavy machinery he didn't even look at X')
i love that they referenced the “MARK ZUCKERBERG” bit bc it’s my favorite thing arin has ever done
It wasnt even a bit. Thats just how siri works.
Trent Resin Or
@@professorfukyu744 you right i just didn’t know how else to phrase it 🤷♀️
does anybody know where this is from?
I went back to listen to it for the "I don't like dying" part and I can only guess it was the the speech-to-text misinterpreting "I don't like driving.".. just incase anyone was wondering because I definitely didn't recognize the quote haha
Arin: Walks one block and gets completely lost
Arin's Orientation Skills : "On permanent vacation"
Its an unmedicated adhd thing. I have the same in my house
Channelling the navigation ability of Zoro from One Piece.
@@robinmaurer2645 Wait... You're saying you get lost in your own home due to unmedicated ADHD?
@@sheikyerbouti39 well if i forgot to take it in the morning... Yeah it happens..
@@robinmaurer2645 You're saying if you forget to take your medication in the morning, you can get lost in your house?
For anyone interested, voxel comes from "volume pixel," meaning a pixel that takes up space.
Ah, finally, a simulator that Arin has some real-world experience in: clumsily destroying a room on camera
So many points where he could have just busted through a window with the sledge to speed up his movement. Love this man.
I am loving Dan's tired caveman energy
WASN'T THAT GREAT?!?
ugh.
I'm guessing he was preserving his voice for the NSP tour.
"There will always be metal in my house, as long as Mastodon exists" made me grin real big.
This is one of the rare times I actually get some of the frustration others get from seeing the grumps play games they like, since I just started this game a week ago. It's still really fun to see them go though all the excitement I went through when discovering the fun quirks of the game. But, also, come on Hanson, you can just move the piece of the wall man...
Danny's small 'oops!' is always so cute -^_^-
Arin is Powerwash, Forklift, Demolition and Truck Driver certified?! What can’t this man do!?.. Oh manage an Internet cafe? Or survive more then 15 days running a restaurant?! Well, he better prove me wrong!
i…dont think he’s forklift certified, not after what i saw.
@@palchumfriend4887 He's forklift de-certified after that disaster. The man went straight for record.
@@palchumfriend4887 He was just playing it up for the camera, he’s actually the best they’ve ever had!
Im getting some Johnny Sins vibes from this comment
More THAN, not then.
Dan's "now we're breaking with gas" underrated comment
Episode one?! Can’t wait to see some more of this! I’m glad these dudes are getting around to the more recent amazing Indie games!! I love bad Indie games on the channel but god, it’s so cool to see these games be played by the grumps!
Also heres proof that Arin has the same amount of memory as the sledgehammer he carries. 23:20
I love that Arin is making me discover so many good indie games.
U somehow didn't hear abt this when it came out?
27:35 the way Arin just blindly drives directly into the ditch absolutely wrecked me
Another great start of Arin being confident about something and being very wrong lmao
Virtual pixel, as opposed to 2d pixels which are entirely irl.
Between calling a voxel a virtual pixel and questioning whether minecraft is a voxel game I think I had a stroke
@@JohnUnsub same lol, when he said he was unsure if Minecraft is a voxel game, I almost bashed my own head in--it is like "THE" voxel game.
If you were to try to explain voxels to someone, you would use Minecraft as the example
@@KrazzeeKane I'll accept that in a weird meta way that the question makes sense, considering Minecraft both IS and ISN'T a voxel game by technical definition but I know for a fact he didn't mean it like that
@@KrazzeeKane Voxels are usually smaller boxes… Minecraft isn’t voxels
I just want to watch someone play this for more then 2 episodes haha this game is so cool!
Smii7y has competed practically the entire game; pretty funny and has a running bit with the treadmill
Jacksepticeye had some fun with it.
@@marionette8144 Smii7y's playthrough is really good I highly recommend
Vargskelethor (AKA Joel) does streams of this with mods so its long form content with several episodes :D
Nerdcubed did like 5 streams of it and finished it!
One minute into this episode and I've already learned more about this game than in 5 different RUclipsr playthroughs of it.
arin getting in a vehicle and immediately driving into the river is sending me
They can finally put Arins talents for alternative solutions to good use!
Also known as the patented “Arin Hanson path of most resistance”
If we only get one 'I hope you continue this', i'm using it here, holy crap. I didn't know i needed you to play teardown but now i need you to not stop.
love how theres a fairly straght forward path between all the alarms but arin insists on blowing up walls
i hope they play more of this.
Haven’t they played this before?
Oh man this is awesome, teardown and plate up the same week. Love it when game grumps play good games!
Teardown is a great game, but it gets horribly difficult at later levels with the amount of pre-planning you have to do to execute the heists XD
I wouldn't say it's very difficult unless you go for 100% completion for all missions, but it is pretty time consuming. Still loved every second of this game when I played it.
I wish some games stuck more to the gimmick and that was it. This game turns into more of a heist game than a tearing things down game. I just wanna tear things down! Not be stressed about executing the perfect heist!
Love how quickly this game goes from "demolition/wrecking crew simulator" to "you are now a career criminal"
From Battle Construction Vehicles to Clandestine Destruction Vehicles.
This channel is going places.
I hope to see more of where this came from, this is one of my favorite games, never thought I'd see the day where the grumps would play it, I am overjoyed!!!
I found that whole soda can bit WAY funnier than I should have
12:05 that moment when they finally discover vehicles is SO satisfying
I love seeing you guys playing these kinds of games, they're great!
Also, more Plate Up pls.
Gonna hear this a thousand times, but volumetric pixel, not virtual pixel.
Glad i'm not the only one who caught that
"At least I got a new hole for myself" Arin Hanson, 2022
Holy shit they're finally playing Teardown? This game is nothing if not an infinite well of RUclipsr content... I really hope we see more of this.
please play more, this was so good
The perfectly cut scream at the end was an unsung hero of this episode.
0:30 - Minecraft is voxels, they're just huge. Also I BELIEVE (from some shit I saw on Discovery like twenty years ago) that voxels are 'pixels with volume' as opposed to being 2D. And pixel is short for 'picture element.'
This will all be on the test.
I hope you do more episodes of this! This game is crazy fun, and the challenges get more and more interesting. Basically turns into speed running where you create your own skips.
I was so excited for Arin to figure out you could use the vehicles, then felt like I was going crazy with how he would continually take the longest and most complicated route to get anywhere.
That freestyle drum fill sounds like vintage Keith Moon of The Who. 💥
The forklift game hand a maximum number of collisions, this game has a minimum number of collisions.🤣
You need to check out some mods and sandbox mode for this game, they're so amazing
My humor would never be able to survive an in-person encounter with Officer Terdiman.
"Hi Dan this has Voxel tech, it means it has great physics as every voxel has physics set to it"
Not 2 minutes pass - there's a house held entirely by some old wooden stairs.
Doesn't get more realistic than that.
Watching this and smii7y's run-throughs are two types of entertainment and also anxiety that should not exist within one entity.
That's why teardown is such content fodder. XD
'Voxel' is a portmanteau of 'Volume' and 'Pixel'.
Arin " Have you witnessed me? LOOK AT ME!"
Danny " LOOK AT ME" *LAUGHTER*
this is such a classic and sacred GG moment all the way from the first season of the 10MPH
Arin just lived one of my dreams. 😑You have nooooo idea how badly I've wanted to destroy my alarm clock with a freaking sledgehammer every time it woke me up for my shitty school years.
Oh my gosh I love this game and I'm so excited to see Danny and Arnold play it.
Wow, you guys actually played Teardown, that's tight.
I was part of the MVC and got to talk with some of the developers and testers.
We made a LOT of voxel art and concept designs as a community and now I'm very glad to see it here.
I played Teardown and I would be excited to watch you two play through the whole thing. Please keep going, the puzzles get so crazy and fun. You get rocket launchers and all kinds of stuff.
Couldn’t be more perfect than Arin declaring he’s the Master of Disaster at the exact moment the rank of ‘Amateur’ appears on the screen
I have to say, I wasn't expecting the story of this game to take this turn, let alone IMMEDIATELY lmao
This game is so SO much fun at mid-late stages, very fun heists!
The second Dan mentioned Mastadon I just remembered a concert I went to where the main show was Primus and the band just before them was Mastadon. They mainly played songs from Around the Sun but it was an amazing concert.
Dan with the Mastodon call out! Nice one
Has the tools to remove everything in his path to a quick getaway, only makes the most roundabout openings, hilarious. Never change GG, never change
Oh man, haven’t seen these boys in years and they just posted. It’s about to be a good half hour
So whenever you’re doing a heist I would recommend quick saving before you start obviously and using your spray can to mark routes to follow
Omfg I thought I'd never see it. Finally teardown!!!
One of my favorite games I hope the grumps do a full playthrough!
This feels like something he'll come back to
I was not expecting them to ever play this game but I hope they finish it. Fantastic game for shenanigans
6:50 the editor turning the music up was a neat touch
Voxel actually stands for "volumetric pixel." Basically where a pixel based sprite is measured in height and width of pixels, voxels add a third dimension of depth or "volume" to the "pixels" making up a 3d model.
hell yea dude hell yea. the day has arrived for Grumps to explore Teardown. 😁I hope you do a series with all the missions.
This is gonna be a great series. excited for more destruction
As someone who spent far too much time breaking and throwing stuff around in Control, this looks right up my alley.
Please play more of this! The missions get crazy
I love that I’m high and Dan and I had the same next thought after “I don’t like dying” it was a magic moment
Please continue this as a series! This game is a gem and fun to solve!
soooo much more of this please
Omg I love Teardown! So glad to see Game Grumps playing it
I was yelling at Arin to prepare his escape load. Then he reloaded his save, got in a truck, and immediately drove into the water. Such a perfect game grumps moment ❤️
Now they're just being mean, they know we want more from that Harvest game. But they want to make us struggle. But we need Dan to handle the controller. Arin simply does not have the patience for that game.
Direct paths are more efficient for time, remember you can set up all kinds of things to do things for you. One thing i like to do is cut off parts of buildings to re arrange them for parts of the path :D
I swear to god these ADS! They have perfect comedic timing adfghbj
When Arin threw the dynamite towards the chimney it quickly cut to an ad just as it was exploding ASDFGHJK
I kinda want to see them fuck around with mods for this
I laughed out loud when Arin smashed the alarm clock with this sledge hammer.
The missions in this game get wilder and wilder, such a good time.
This game is amazing!! Please keep playing if you enjoy!!!
A stark contrast to the last game. I'm glad Arin loves it. Hope they do a bunch of these! It was so satisfying to watch them bulldoze buildings.
Wouldnt mind this turning into a long series
5:14 I can't believe Danny has the NERVE to play games on company time
Dan's confusion between comically bad British and Australian accents reminded me of the amazingness that was the Battle Construction Vehicles playthrough
The reference to BT/Mike Doughty makes me super happy, Dan. 😂
of course he tries to hammer the whole building instead of searching for an alternative i love you arin
stranger: will pay more for extra discretion. Arin: I'm gonna throw this propane tank.
love them XD
I hope they play more of this game, it's really fun
Every perfectly legal job should come with an escape vehicle.
This is one of the best "puzzle" games I've ever played. Would love to see more of GG trying to figure the game out while having fun.
2:10 yeah, I'd rewatch that kings quest gameplay sometimes. It was awesome.
17:56 Hearing Arin utter a HomeStar Runner reference fills my heart with warm and fuzzy joy.
Loving this era of Game Grumps
