Wow! Crooner @ about 1:09 minutes, I almost fell out of my seat when I heard that brass section & the full orchestra, such a real, clean & natural & very dynamic sound! I convinced about tubes...it's the real deal.
@TheGmodProductions They are stereo components for high fidelity music reproduction. They date from the 1960's. They were made in NY USA and are of the highest quality. Unsurpassed even today.
@patkwok Speakers were originally Vandersteen 2Ce Signatures. But the video shows older Paradigm Mini Monitors. The version of Carmen was obtained via RUclips available audio for videos. I have no idea who performs or directs it. Thanks for your comments!
The 8b is what Saul Marantz listened to himself. All the model 9s got sold and he was content to listen to an 8b. But are the lower two units tube? I associate the sliders with later Marantz solid state gear.
Jolly good! But watch out; y'all need to replace the pilot lamp in the preamp...otherwise, one of the tube heaters may pop open when the pre is switched on! Very sad if you're using Telefunken or other NOS tubes.

Tubes are Svetlana (original SED) from 1997. Great sound. I recommend them.

I listen to records on it also, with a VPI Scout turntable and Dynavector cart. I like CD's also. Not sad at all to listen to them.

Did this happen to you? I may use an LED pilot lamp to prevent this.
so sad to listen to cds with such a set-up... ;-)
