I'm a New Zealander living in France in retirement. What do I miss about NZ?
In NZ people generally want to help. The air is clean and fresh. People tend to treat others as equals. Even if superior or more powerful, do not make too much of it. Acting self-important does not not go down well. Do not tip people, it's demeaning them. Things are generally tidy. Take your rubbish home. Technology and websites generally work and prople want to sort out faults. Lack of language barrier. A long way from Israel and Ukraine.
What is better in France?
Bicycling. Driver attitudes (amazing), interesting places to go with more emphasis on human history than scenery, cycle infrastructure, lots of minor roads. Surprisingly, easier than you'd think to make friends here. Customs of politeness. Solidarity in social groups. More public access to land (so much in NZ is either steep or fenced off). Wide range of food available (NZ surprisingly limited in some ways). Medical system is excellent. (I think NZ mainly better than USA on most of these issues).
