I am sorry Gents but, really, ranking Lewis Hamiton 27th when you are ranking Gasly and Hulkenberg that much ahead of him makes me think, I truly have wated my time by following Autosport...unless of course you have been carefully building up your 377K subscribers from an Anti- Toto, Niki, Lewis and Mercedes crowd.. Why am I wasting my Time?
By lewis' standards it's probably the worst season he's had, being beaten by his teammate and himself admitting he just doesn't have the pace. Had someone else been in that Merc with those same level of performances I'd guess they'd be even lower in the list, with the reputation he's built up as one of the all time greats protecting him Meanwhile Hulk and Gasly both comfortably destroyed their teammates dragging cars to places they don't deserve to be. How can you rate someone who lost to their teammate and admits they're not performing at the level they should against two guys who beat their teammates with ease and from pretty much every source outperformed their machinery to do so
Sorry, Hamilton just doesn't deserve to be ranked #1 anymore, we understand that you Pommies just cant understand this, but to most this ranking kinda makes sense...
Comparatively Hulkenberg and Gasly achieved better results with the machinery they had Alonso and Hamilton. Its' not hard to comprehend. Otherwise every ranking would just be a reprint of the points standings in each championship.
@@jonathanokeefe9783 really? You are saying that Aston was much better than Haas and Alpine over a season? Don't forgot how many mistakes Hulk made this year.
@@ebayer1980 over the season, Aston was better than both Alpine and Haas. Far stronger than both in the fast half of the season but tailed off from mid season with a small revival towards the end. Alpine was slowest car for at least the first 5 races, the Aston was never that bad.
@@jonathanokeefe9783Aston didnt manage to develop the car one bit, everything they brought in made it worse, so from 4th 5th race they wre already going backwards. @@suzuka1307r I'm well aware of Aston's development travails. My original beef was with the comment that Hulkenberg and Gasly were 'by default' worse than Alonso, Hamilton. Personally, I think Hulk and Gasly did make better use of the cars they had than Alonso and Hamilton over the course of the season, but there are valid arguments on both sides. It;'s not clear cut as the OP was suggesting.

How can Power be higher than Hamilton and Alonso? Indycar by default is lower series. If Power would be that great, why he newer raced in F1 in his youth?
Some drivers blossom later in their careers, and some drivers - for various reasons (e.g. bad luck, money, politics) never get to F1 when on talent they merited it; and some drivers in F1 fall off over the time. Would you argue that Sergio Perez performed better than Will Power last season just because he's in F1 and Will Power is in Indy?
@@jonathanokeefe9783 Perez was really bad this year and he never has been on of best f1 drivers. I am comparing similar status drivers in their series. F1 great by default is better than indy. So does f1 backmarker is better than indy backmarker Also, Power made many mistakes this year unlike Alonso.
I’m a huge Lewis fan, but I agree with him being low this year. Some good peaks like Silverstone, but probably his worst season in F1 ever. I’d put a handful of Indycar drivers ahead of Lewis this year tbh! Hope he bounces back next year, I’d hate Lewis to have a Raikonnen ending to his F1 career.
Great to see Dries Vanthoor on the list, and deservedly so. He's outstanding.
Hulkenberg could have had the career of a great, but no title challenging team wanted to design a car with a cockpit big enough for him to fit.
I should Be in the top 5 at least. No one can drive a Micra like me
take a shot every time Gary says "you know"

Ah, the old F1 snob......keep believing that. Clueless.......
I will continue following your reasoning, as pragmatically as possible till the end, but am already considering unsubscribing
