The older version have a different clasp with on the fly adjustment. It´s great. I would by an Omega 300 reedition with today´s production methods instantly. No idea why they don ´t do it. They could literally print money.
I have this watch (black dial) and my bracelet seems fine, although I did swap out the clasp. It’s turned out to be my daily driver-I wear it more than my 40mm sub date. I just love the watch 😎.
Every time I see these watches I am impressed by them. It’s an amazing style. I’ve got my Planet Ocean 2500. I actually swap it some times on the Omega Shark mesh bracelet.
@@RandomRobReviews oh your going to love it. It was my first higher end piece that I bought 3 years ago to celebrate a promotion at work. I always wanted it since I saw in those bond movies. It totally opened the watch floodgates for me lol
Almost pulled the trigger on this. Still like it though. I hope they update the bracelet and the clasp. The spring bars on the bracelet doesn't invoke confidence at all and the clasp. Well, Rob did mention it already. I do hope Helson sees this review and actually enhance and update the bracelet. Would be very interested to know too if whats inside is an ETA 2824 as advertised.
Good morning Bob. Actually I picked up this watch from eBay a month ago and so far, I am loving it. I just love the dial design (main reason I picked it up). Bazel action can be improved, but it is just okay. Very accurate and strong movement and at least my clasp is working perfect. I have the exactly same clasp as you have, but I have no issues. I think that your clasp issue could be an isolated problem. Also, I saw some other sharkmaster that has on-the-fly adjustment new clasp and I would love to have that clasp for my sharkmaster. Anyway, I bought "after market" $15 adjustable clasp from Aliexpress (look exactly same as Helson has, but bit flimsy of course) and I put that on. it works excellent. By the way, I believe that Helson charges $150 for that adjustable clasp. Mine was 1/10 of price, yet, it does the job very well.... Bob, love your review man, keep it coming.
It is my diver that lives on a Nato. The case looks more like the vintage Eberhard Scafograf 300 IMHO. I bought mine (blue, triangle, date) without the bracelet for 50$ less in September 2021. Contacted them initially to ask when will it be in stock again - they offered to put one together just for me. Cheers!
@Random Rob is the clasp issue unique to this Helson, or has it been present across the brand's other offerings in your experience? Do not recall this call out in your other Helson videos.
I don't understand selling watches that you liked enough to BUY in the first place. I'm nearly 60 years old and I've never sold a watch and I own Timex thru Omega. What's with all of this short attention span stuff? Each their own, but it's annoying to even listen to. I get ATTACHED to my watches.
@@scdevon many many many people buy then sell later. It's a little different these days with all the hype online that sells you a watch quick, that you might not have got 20+ years ago, plus any one you bought you tried on and saw. Different these days again. They're ordered from overseas.
For me to love it, a bracelet using spring bars for sizing would have to have drilled ends for easy removal. If that was the case, I would love the idea of spring bars in bracelet links.
I'm a big fan of the Sharkdiver and its utilitarian look and the Skindiver homaging the Baltic Aquascaphe. Especially the Bronze. these two are on my next purchases......

Anytime a bracelet link is shaped (looking at its side, not at the broad top or bottom surface) like an oval, the bracelet will be uncomfortable, because the ovoid "protrusion" of each link on the underside of the bracelet will cause pressure points all along the wrist. This discomfort will be worse the heavier the watch overall.
@@mgolabek89 Not "that bad" as in causing undue pain, much less bruising, but discomfort, as in there are pressure-points and one is constantly aware of the discomfort, as opposed to with flat inner surfaces, in which case there's mostly no awareness of a discomfort to speak of. Again, the heavier the watch (especially head), the worse the discomfort. A Helson is a fairly heavy watch; therefore, I'd suspect noticeable awareness.
You can also drop Forstner bracelets on these, maybe even Uncle Seiko ones. Believe I used the US endlinks (sold separately) with a Flatlink Forstner... Or swap just clasp as RR said.
Thanks for watching as long as you did. I see hundreds of watches, so I just share the little things people may want to know. The clasp doesn’t bother me but I like to point things out.
Love the watch head. Yeah, cheap Chinese parts bin clasp, too bad on that. Bracelet does seem a bit weird with soring bars - what the heck!?! Hope you can bond with it!
On May 15, 2023 this watch is all sold out or hugely changed and THAT is sold out. So, we cannot win. A fantastic watch reviewed here is now GWTW. You have to wonder what they are thinking. Only a few watch nuts would know that it is a homage to an old Omega. $600-700 for a wonderful watch, and Helson has moved on. I just don't get it.

This is such a great homage of a really cool watch. The lume is amazing 👍
Can’t wait for my RR edition Borealis Sintra to come in. Similar style with white dial. I have always loved the look of this Helson.
