- ראש הממשלה בנימין נתניהו נפגש היום במשרד רה״מ בירושלים עם אלמנות ויתומי צה״ל, שאיבדו את אב המשפחה במהלך מלחמת ״חרבות ברזל״.
במהלך המפגש, ראש הממשלה שמע מפי האלמנות והיתומים על דמותם של האבות והבעלים שנפלו, אנשי משפחה אוהבים ומסורים. כמו כן, ראש הממשלה הקשיב לסיפורי גבורתם במהלך אירועי ה-7 באוקטובר ובלחימה ברצועת עזה.
ראש הממשלה חיבק את בני המשפחות והשתתף בכאבם, ואמר כי יקירהם נפלו על הגנת המולדת. עוד הוסיף רה״מ נתניהו כי צוואתם של הנופלים להשלמת המשימה עד לניצחון המוחלט על חמאס היא יעד שישראל לא תרפה ממנו.
ראש הממשלה צפה יחד עם בני משפחתו של רס״מ יוסי הרשקוביץ הי״ד בסרטון ששלח להם מרצועת עזה לפני נפילתו, בו אמר: ״אנחנו עושים את המשימה הקדושה הזאת, משימה מאוד קשה וחשובה. אני שמח שאני לוקח בה חלק יחד אתכם - אתם חלק בלתי נפרד ממני״.
ראש הממשלה בנימין נתניהו:
״יש פה סיפורי גבורה כבירים. מה ששלומי אמר זה נכון. זה לא רק אלפי אנשים, זאת מדינת ישראל שחבה להם את הקיום. זה לא פראזה, זו לא אמירה בעלמא.
מה שיוסי ביקש, להילחם, להשיב מלחמה שערה, לנצח. זה יש לנו, זה גם נעשה״.
מנכ״ל ארגון אלמנות ויתומי צה״ל שלומי נחומסון הוסיף:
״כשאתם מסתובבים ברחובות ירושלים, בדרום, בתל אביב, תסתכלו ימינה ושמאלה ואתם תראו את האנשים, שהיום הם בחיים, והם יוצאים לעבודה, והם יוצאים לבתי הספר ולגנים, והם מקיימים את השגרה שלהם בזכות האבות שלכם״.
במפגש השתתפו גם המזכיר הצבאי של רה״מ אלוף אבי גיל ויו״ר ארגון אלמנות ויתומי צה״ל תמי שלח.
