I am so thrilled to find these pieces, performed by Lee Luvisi, on You Tube! Can't wait to start listening! He was my teacher at Brevard Music Center in NC and later at the University of Louisville! Fabulous pianist, musician and teacher!
Dear Dr. Alice Cash, I am sure it was a remarkable experience to study with such a great master pianist and professor like the legendary Lee Luvisi, who was one of the main teachers of the great Peter Serkin! I am not sure if he still teaches privately, but I have seen videos of his performances of a year ago, and he still plays incredibly well even at the age of 80 as he did during his prime. To "Lee Luvisi Piano", thank you so much for posting this treasure!
Remarkable! I will never forget that recording of the prelude op 23 no 8 by Rachmaninoff. Neither Ashkenazy and nor Richter makes the melody sing out so well!
The Chopin Barcarolle at 1:05:07… I come back to this recording of my favorite Chopin work over and over

I worked at Brevard, summer of 1970 in administration. If you were studying then, we may have met.
I was at Brevard from 1965-1969. So sorry we missed each other there. But I do live in Louisville now and would love to meet sometime?

Such exquisite beauty.
Fantastic! A joy to listen to ... played with great artistry! This is music for the soul!
Piano playing beautiful beyond belief.
