Like it or hate it, there's no denying when this song, and any of Eric's songs for that matter, come on the radio you know it is him. He has a sound all his own, and it's totally different than everything else on the radio, and that's why I listen to his music. There's no cookie cutter pop sound here.

I agree. I think he does it a lot better than most country rock bands. Most of them let the country get drowned out by the rock music, whereas Church has them on even ground sometimes putting one in front of the other, but not for the whole song

Y'all need to chill out because Eric Church is one of the best in the business. He can jam out an awesome country-rock song like this AND sit down and play a soft, acoustic country song in the blink of an eye. Few musicians in Nashville are as talented as this guy. Johnny and Waylon would be proud.

Does it work for a chart-topping radio hit? Probably not. But pop country's getting stale-- it can't just be pickups, girls, whiskey, and G-chords with electric guitars and rock-snares. This is cool.
***** I hear ya on that. That little jam session right in the middle really makes it stand out from the crowd. This is one of the few country songs on the radio I can stand to listen to. It jumps right out of that stale pop sound that I have grown to hate in most of what the radio calls "country".

I love the Outsiders album. I feel like Eric's earlier records, e.g Sinners Like Me and Carolina, were the most honest. Although Chief was an awesome album, I feel he was making some of the songs to please others rather than what pleased him. The Outsiders just seems so much more honest. He wrote all the songs up in a mountain cabin with no distractions, all the tracks come from the heart and you can't get more honest than A Man Who Was Gonna Die Young. Just my opinions guys.

I've never seen someone so passionate about what they do on stage, it is so entertaining. Chills and goosebumps is all Mr. Church does to me with his music!!

Eric Church is one of the few musicians who really understand what country music is about. Most of the stuff played on the radio today are essentially the same songs with slightly different lyrics. Church takes the time and effort to write songs from his own personal experience and really strives to make quality over quantity. Some artists are horrible in concert because they've risen to fame too quickly and some of their music isn't bad but it's all about the production. How much money can they make. Eric Church is just a guy with a guitar and he can play anywhere. He ain't worried about the money, he's worried about the music. #Churchchoir
