Flea markets, thrift stores, garage sales are three places to start. People don’t value toy army men because they just don’t realize what they’re worth at those places. On eBay you have resellers and other collectors who know what they have and want to get every cent they can. I’ve made ridiculously good finds at the flea market and especially the thrift store. Sounds like the figures you’re looking for are old Marx figures from battlegrounds and The Guns of Naverrone. BMC toys makes excellent reproductions of some Marx GI’s as well as a whole slew of other figures that were sold by Lido, MPC, and even Timmee. Reproductions are a great way to go since they’re new and you’re buying for kids. But most certainly check your local thrift stores and flea markets. You’d be amazed the people who don’t realize the value of these toys.
You can get army men from BMC toys online! I also have 1000's of soldiers, their just my thing. I even have pink soldiers too! Do you like collecting police figures too? I made a large order last month, cost me over £200 in total.
You know where I can get some decent quality knock off Airfix guys? (Like the first Piss Platoon Soldier you showed off) I’m just now looking into collecting, I have 200 Airfix knock off Greys that I got a long long time ago from a website that’s not around anymore, and I’m trying to get some other colored ones. PS: Great collection!

They have a wide variety of figures from multiple producers. Armies in Plastic is another great manufacturer who I would definitely recommend for younger children due to their affordability, durability, and variety of different figures. Thrift and antique stores are good places to look. Most of my collection now comes from eBay just because I’ve bought everything locally available.
