He’s not lying about the center console making the job a pain in the ass! Came close to ripping the SOB out of the truck before I finally got it installed. Thanks for the video.
Dude thank you. I just went and bought a A/C clutch switch to see if it would fix my problem but it didn't. Now I gotta change the blend door actuators so this is extremely helpful
Bout to change mine out to see what happens. It wasn't that bad getting to that screw but I'd be a damn liar if I say the thought didn't cross my mind to just pull that cover off forcefully. Lol but 15-20 minute fix was awesome. I changed all 3 on my other truck before but had no clue where my 04' yukon denali actuator was. Thanks man helped alot 🤘 I'm in Florida and this heat and humidity is a killer. Glad to have cool air back
Puede ser este el problema. La cosa es si no enfría del mismo lado del chófer. Si es del lado del pasajero entonces ba ser otra parte similar pero en otra locación
Any feedback on the plastic replacement vs the OEM metal? I understand it's just a rubber "knob" it wraps around; but, the weight of the metal I believe was part of the original design.
Buenas tardes amigo jorge yo tengo una yukon 20001gmc slt y si enfria en el tablero pero en medio y atras solo avienta aire caliente podria ser el actuador q va en la parte de atras o podia ser el ventilador q esta pegado gracias por los videos
What do you do if you take the old one out and the plastic snaps and stays in the old actuator when it comes out???? I have 2003 Cadilac Escalade and IDK what to do????
Great video jorge! Question for ya...My gf drove her 2005 Tahoe to friends house for dinner. She was blasting her AC in the car and worked fine. She starts her car 3 hours later and battery is dead and needs new one. She swaps out battery then immediately the driver side blasts hot air and the passenger side blasts cold. Bad passwenger actuator or car needs reset so actuators can adjust to new battery?
I would try resetting the ac, I can't remember from the top of my head how to do it but there's videos on it. I would think the Actuator got stuck from a short on the battery or something that killed it. Atleast let's hope that's the case because it is a little pain in the rear to replace this actuator
Turn key to on position and hit auto on AC controls, then turn off truck go to engine bay fuse panel and pull “10” fuse labeled hvac for 1min and plug it back in, then turn truck on for 2 mins and the AC controls should start on 74 degrees and on auto. DO NOT TOUCH, system is recalibrating, once 2 mins are done turn truck off for 15 seconds and turn truck back on. Then the AC controls should reset and can then move them around
How many actuators is there? The driver side actuator is on the passenger side, so where is the passenger side actuator? Is there a.rear one for the back passengers?
That passenger actuator is behind the dash right in the middle of the passenger side. It is quite a job to change that one. As for the rear I'm not really sure
@@Jorge.Rangel so if I change the blend door driver side I’ll get my heat back? It only blows cold on the driver side, heat and cold both work on passenger side
I used a 1/4" drive breaker bar. I couldn't squeeze my ratchet in. It didn't take much to loosen it enough to turn with my fingers. To put it back I JB welded the socket to the screw. I got it pretty tight with my fingers then used the breaker bar.
Then first you can try to recalibrate the ac system. There's a few videos out there. If that doesn't fix it then maybe both your actuators are done. This one plus the one behind the glove box behind the dash. There's videos on that one too and is alot more work to fix.
Not enough space to fit any camera in there. Theres barely enough space to feel the screw with your fingers and try to put the socket on the screw just by feel.
Ok how on the f*** did you get the third screw out? The o e behind the console that holds the black cover on? I can get a long socket on there but not with the 1/4” drive ratchet. And it’s too tight to loosen it by hand! Plus my hand can hardly fit on there to turn it lol
i have kinda the same problem. i have a 04 yukon and it's blowing hot air out the front and if i put the aux control so i can control the air in the back and i move the ac from the back i will blow cold air in the back only.
That's what is called, there is not other blend Actuator on the driver side, but there is another blend actuator behind the glove box I would assume "passenger side". The only other Actuator closer to driver side is called the mode change Actuator above the gas pedal and is meant for selecting where the air comes out of.
Look at my vids, see my latest upload today. The parts puller is dead asleep while trying to get out the part. He watched your video, but he can't get the back screw out so he tore apart the entire dash. I've been watching him go at this for 45 minutes trying to get the actuator out and I'm about to give up. I can't tell him anything because he knows everything. So I'll just go buy it new.
Tengo un problema similar, enfría del lado del conductor y del lado del pasajero sale aire caliente. Cuando pongo el aire caliente no cambia en nada. Espero y puedas ayudarme con este problema. De antemano muchas gracias
Google it. They call this one driver side, yes I know about the one above the has peddal that controls where it comes out of because I just swapped it aswell. Same gear was broken. The passenger side blend door is behind the glove box behind the dash. I'm not expert but wbery Google search I did came out with the same names.
Apparently he was right. Mind u it did fix the problem and it was only the drivers side with the issue. Also keep in mind it's a dual climate control system.
@@Jorge.Rangel There's another one on the driver's side up above the gas pedal behind the dash. It selects which vent the air blows out of. It's the same part number.
It's the driver side actuator because this one controls the driver side temperature. There is another that controls the passenger side which is way up in the dash almost behind the passenger airbag.
He’s not lying about the center console making the job a pain in the ass! Came close to ripping the SOB out of the truck before I finally got it installed. Thanks for the video.
Driver side door actuator is much worse in the 2003 Escalade, yet your video gave me the most help.
Its driver side on mine to he labeled this video wrong ours is 2003 and the driver side is on left side under steering wheel
Thank you! There are about a thousand videos on resetting the AC Unit and ONLY ONE video on the required repair.
Dude thank you. I just went and bought a A/C clutch switch to see if it would fix my problem but it didn't. Now I gotta change the blend door actuators so this is extremely helpful
Dude, best video on this! I've watched them all and never felt confident to replace this. Thanks so much! Texas summers FTW.
How did you get the 3rd 7mm screw out of the fascade piece?

this was a very well put together video, it actually gives me the courage to see if i can conquer this job. thanks
Thank you so much! Saved me a couple bucks brother took me 5 mins to change this and my blower motor
Not too bad of a job. Fairly easy. Now that one 7mm screw closest to center console, now that can beca PITA
Yo just fixed my ac with a new actuator just like you said thanks homie .
You said the truth it’s a pain in the ass thank you sir for showing me I finally got it

Yes it does. No problems at all.

Awesome easy vid thank you!
Great video!! Thanks
Is this the actuator that controls the hot and cold air flow on the driver side...(passenger side is cold)
Yes
Is there anyway you can send a pic of how that actuator plug is pinned? Need to match the colors for a new plug
Picture of the Actuator itself? Or the harness side in the dash?
My door is very hard to manually turn should it be like
That?
How in hell did y'all get that 1 bolt out 😂 ive got them all out except for that 1. Cant get anything to it to get it

How did you get the last screw out?? Were you able to twist the socket by hand?
If you have a small ratchet it will fit in there. Is a tight squeeze but it will work. Insert socket first by hand then attach the ratchet
@@Jorge.Rangel ok thanks bro!!

is this the one you changed right next to the radio? everyone I talked to said they have to remove the dash to change it out?

Seems like blend door actuator plus the air mode actuator.
I fixed the problem on the driver's side and the part they sent was this 1 for the passenger side so order the rite part
What if mine is blowing cold on drivers side while heat on
Passenger side is hot
And driver side doesn't change? Always stays on cold? Then is the same issue it just got stuck on cold.

That blend door is located in the rear on the right hand side. That one I believe will take programming.

Different part number?
