Near fields are for mixing at quieter volumes. They are ideal for precision mixing meaning your ears have to be well tuned. If you did not purchase them for mixing then you bought the wrong type of speakers.

Basic entry-level okayish, in a very limited way... I'm also on a severely limited budget and will probably be going with Presonus Eris monitors (E3.5 or maybe E5 if I can afford them). But before I do that I'll have to work on my room treatment first. Should be paramount...
