A young woman who never knew her birth mother became close to my mother. They were so close that they even travelled together. This individual moved to another state and my mother would visit her. Then this woman ghosted my mother. My mother later learned from a mutual friend that the woman was upset because my mother supposedly borrowed a hat and the woman claimed she didn’t get the hat back. My mother said she didn’t remember this. My mother was a very responsible person and if she borrowed a hat she would have returned it or paid to replace it. The woman went to her grave not talking to my mother. She passed away before my mother at a relatively young age. Ghosting my mother was her loss. It’s no telling what’s wrong with your friend. It could be jealousy.

Hi Sheila good morning ...let it go beautiful because most times it's the other person and it has nothing to do with you doll ❤ AND AND it could even be jealousy... I've experienced this some years back and it ended up being jealousy from the other person who I thought was my dearest friend...it hurts YES but just let it go... there's nothing you can do about others' emotions...you are a beautiful spirit and God knows what's best for all of us🙏🏽... Love you❤❤❤

I had a friend who would go dark every couple months and would pop back up again like she didn’t ghost me for weeks at a time and would never acknowledge this. One time we had plans for dinner and she event ghosted me to the point of standing me up for dinner!! I thought it was so bizarre and inconsiderate how she would do this and later realized this disappearance and reappearance was her going through manic episodes. When she would disappear she was in an episode and would come back later as if nothing happened. Never know what someone is dealing with when they ‘disappear’ on us. Regardless we should honor our boundaries feelings and needs; honor what your instinct is telling you about the friend.

Hi Sheila, I have been a “ghoster”. In my experience, the other person didn’t deserve an explanation. For me, it had nothing to do with being a woman or man, as you stated. Sometimes it’s best to just set physical, mental, and spiritual boundaries for YOURSELF, regardless of what the other party thinks of it. In the end, we’re all adults and will move on with our lives. It’s nothing to hold on to because, trust me, the “ghoster” isn’t giving it a second thought. Go on with your life and reevaluate how you’d like to create different relationships and friendships moving forward. It’s life…

It’s unfortunate that you feel that way jomr.. my life experiences have shaped how I choose to protect my peace. We all have that choice. It’s not arrogance or one-sided. It’s life choices that suit how you see your future and what you can offer someone else in a more genuine, reciprocal relationship. I hope this doesn’t come off as rude or offensive or arrogant. That’s not my intention. Freeing myself from a relationship that no longer serves either of those involved, makes space for a more intentional relationship. Shouldn’t we all want that regardless of who’s the ghoster vs the ghostee?

Hi Sheila… This is a great topic. It would be a great panel discussion. I think I can see it from both sides. Like in your situation you have been a very good friend to someone and they ghosted you and you don’t know why, but there are other situations where people have been ghosted and they know exactly why. probably because of how they treated someone, disrespected and disregarded their feelings and maybe that person got tired of it. So I can see it from both sides. I can see how you can feel blindsided when you’ve been a very good friend, but I can also see when somebody has just had enough of mistreatment from a person for years and decides to just end it and go their separate way.

When someone is a SERIAL ghoster, they are the problem. No emotionally functioning adult does this. It IS disrespectful but it is also a power play. They know that it leaves the door open to circle back when they have no one else they can turn to after they have blown up all the bridges to every relationship they enter into. The older they get, the more stealth they become at doing it. The last person that did that to me for the last time, I healed in silence and surprised the heck out of them when they tried to circle back when they realized that door was slammed shut, locked, chained and walked off. Taking your power back should never be underrated. Leave this person where they are and never listen to anyone who tells you not to feel how you feel and work it out the way you need to. I could care less about someone who behaves like that over and over again. That has nothing to do with hating anyone. My motto is “ You don’t exist in my world anymore” and they can take that how they want.

  • @rondalucy

All you “ghosters” on here taking about it being okay to shit people off are selfish and immature. There’s no excuse for choosing not to communicate and at least give the other person an opportunity to understand what’s going on.
Setting boundaries and choosing peace doesn’t excuse you from being an adult and showing a bit of empathy for someone who was supposedly a friend or loved one. Grow up already. This is some middle school level immaturity and unless the other person has been abusive to you, there’s no excuse for this. So tired of selfish people.

Ghosting is very common these days. If the relationship is close, one should at least be kind enough to let the other person at least know.
Even some spouses walk away in the dark of the night never to return. Some people are not compassionate. Unless you’re in an unsafe situation, pls let your friend know respectfully. You would want the same.

Regarding the scarf, if you're handy with a needle you can cut and attach a new or different trim😂
Heard a saying one time, I think it was "Wayne Dyer" that said your friends are God's gift for making up for your family 😊
Humans say they love you, but the love is usually conditional to the way you treat them 😆
Just imagine what real unconditional love is really, like the love you have for your son, that love is the status level for everyone I say that I say I love meaning when they are going through something, I am going to love them regardless.
I rarely tell people I love them because to me, I will love you though the tough times even if I'm not feeling their love is reciprocal 🥰
I have ghosted and been ghosted, some relationships are just for a season, because I ghosted you doesn't mean what we shared for that season wasn't beneficial, just may mean time to move on and don't want to waste any more time trying to explain myself, some things are better unsaid because the truth of why may not make sense to you or can be even more painful to share with you 😬

I 100% disagree with this assessment. I am 49 y/o grown woman and can say that I try my best to keep it real. People who ghost are cowards usually. Cowards and lack effective communication skills and emotionally IMMATURE. If a person has NOT explained to the person what is bothering directly and has not given the person the opportunity to address or fix the issue, then they are a coward. Especially, if it someone who professed to love you. There is no reason outside of abuse or manipulation, that someone needs to ghost a grown a** person. There is a way to end something indeed, but if you have to be so abrupt, then the person is usually the issue. Sadly, this used to be something that young kids did, but now grown people are engaging in the same toxic behavior.

    • @GlamGadz
      @GlamGadz День назад

@@shirleydavis5060 Agreed. It takes work to overcome the behavior and in today’s age, people don’t want to do inner work. Be honest why you are hurt or disappointed or why you don’t think communication is warranted anymore. Also, people need to be receptive to hearing it and not going off when the person tells them. I think you owe it to people who have invested a lot of time in you, or vice-versa. Ive ended two long-term friendships last year and wished them well, thanked them for their role in my life, and explained why and released them. If they leave this earth or if I do, there is no guilt on my end. I strongly believe in treating people how you would want to be treated and karmas effect as time goes on. I’m done on the topic.
