love this.i'm a big fan of using templates and the nested folders idea you're using here is something i will definitely use from now on.

Great video! I primarily use ableton and haven’t seen people using folders in pro tools. Very convincing to switch over for mixing! Thanks again.

300 mixes a year, man!!! I’d be on top of the world if I could get 30. How does anyone get that many orders?

btw Croy, I have a template for mixing where several Reverbs and Delays are shared by every track AND a template where each group has it's own private FX. I use the latter when I think the client may need stems, so I can print all of the stems (including separated stem FX) all at once. They are both useful. I also like the shared FX template because it is more efficient with the CPU and it is fun to design the FX for the overall sound rather than just one instrument at a time.

Been using a similar workflow to this video lately and went to print stems for the first time since doing it this way and was like “yikes” haha. I’m going to do what you just said, great tip

Looks like in separating your FX bus, which then go to your INST bus, have you noticed any issues during your mix process of having Vox FX going to your INST bus? For example, if you mute your vocals to focus on your instrumental mix, you'll still have vocal FX coming through.

Nice video Corey! I like how simple the template is. Do you find yourself trying out any "hacks" people come up with to create clarity or space or things like that? Seems like every other day there's a "new better way to create space in the mix" type of video but most of them seem very convoluted with what ultimately seems to be more of a mix issue.

I've never made the jump to using folder tracks in protools, but I think this video finally convinced me...👀

My brain short circuits when I have too many tracks on the screen at once. Folders make me feel more organized and allow me to focus on specific areas of a mix without getting distracted. Try them out and see how they work for you!

Do you have any interns doing the editing, mix prep and other time consuming tasks? How do hell does one mix 300+ songs a year, especially bands with real drums and other instruments?
