Thank you for this, Tammy. I'm a father of two young girls (8 years old and 3 years old). This is an important (critically so) topic for all parents, not only for their own well being and that of their children, but also for the society in which they reside.
I would love to see Tammy and Queenie say the Rosary together. It would lovely to say it with their lead. So powerful. So holy. Thank you for these conversations ❤❤❤✝️
I really enjoyed this conversation, I don’t have many women in my family that are as positive as you both, they constantly berate and undermine men forgetting that I am a man too. It’s good to know it doesn’t have to be that way.
Thank you Mrs. Tammy! I really enjoyed this talk. I’m working to become a virtuous woman of God. I’m slowly finding His way and my courage. I’m waiting for my rosary to arrive! I’m not Catholic yet but I feel a real draw to the faith. I hope you’re well and God bless you!! 🌻
Your remarks about needing to be a particularly special person to help someone else become a better person gets at something critical in the human services field (at least in the U.S.). I worked for several years both as a counselor in a youth detention facility and a residence manager in a residential school for youth with developmental disabilities. You would be very hard pressed to find a worker in either place who wasn't riddled with pretty significant pathologies themselves (and I was no saint myself). In fact, 5 years into such work, I felt in myself that I was being dragged down more than I was lifting up. Eventually, I found myself working on a career change to software development. Looking back now, I feel deep sorrow for not only my previous coworkers, but for the people we were supposed to be serving. With the way society at large has been going, I don't see those situations getting better any time soon.
That's when the idea of virtue comes, you need to strive for the best you can be so that you can feel worthy of helping others, I guess. We can all become better versions of ourselves. I still hope I can have this kind of more meaningful life one day. Edit: I also wanted to say that your story was very meaningful and a good example of how our society has been going downwards since it stopped valuing excellence. Too often the population will admire quick success over hard work. We want to believe life can be that easy and we don't need to try that hard. This is really an ideology that's been undermining performances in general, and the importance of making our societies better as a whole.
Tammy thank you for the time you take to make your podcast. I always enjoy it. I love the place God has brought you to in your life. It is very encouraging and has been a help to me❤️
I agree with all point as a mother. I have raised my children with some demand to reach their potential in all things especially etiquette ( which seems to be a dying art)🌟🌟🌟
My parents are Jehovahs Witnesses. I don't agree with them. They baptized me twice and it didn't stick. But...to my parent's credit...they DID manage to not let me and my brother turn into hacker monsters. So that part was nice
Regarding bullies: Sometimes children are placed in a situation where they are gang bullied. This is what happened to me in elementary and jr. high school. I was extremely nearsighted and when they attacked me on my way home from school, they threw me to the ground and broke my glasses. My alcoholic father did not replace my glasses, and there were no adults to protect me. How do you stand up to that? When I am told that all I had to do was "stand up for myself" I feel bullied all over again by society.
That’s a rough childhood. What a drag. I lived up in northern Canada. I was the youngest of 4 kids. On the way to primary school the kids from the Catholic school were outside in the playground. There were 2 girls from the local reservation. They jumped me and my friend and washed our faces with the icy snow. I found ways to sneak to school after that. I hated those girls for years. When I walked to school one day in high school I saw one of them get out of a car near their school. The driver was an old white man and she was a very pregnant 16 year old. I didn’t hate her anymore after that. I was grateful to be saved from my self pity
Dave Rubin recently interviewed Miami Mayor Francis Suarez. He's doing exciting things with the homeless. He might talk with you about that shared interest.
To me virtue is not taking the job yesterday because I knew I'd only be tempted to hack the company. I'll sit any way I want while I make these choices.
Like hell the outside world won't let me sleep until 11am.... I'll wake up at 3pm and they'll be grateful for it. Oh how does it allll workkk???? If you want to know, I get to sleep. Not that I can. My mom lives in a cult. There is no rest for me. There is no striving to change it. I just wait. I watch. And like hell if someone's gonna tell me to go to bed on a schedule. As I've said in marches, war doesn't end on time.
@48:00 Mins. What can we offer ?? The Technical reason why society is selfishly motivated is NARCISSISM. Dependant types of people are ordinated toward service of others to get their needs meet. Narcissistic types of people are oriented toward control and manipulation of others to get there needs met. The Adam and Eve metaphor is correct but practically speaking, No one understands why ! Children develop one of two dominant relational styles while growing up. 1 Depenant style 2. Narcissistic style The Narcissistic style dominates because it appears to be the more powerful style and the society bends to the perception of power. People do not want to look at these core patterns because that involves looking at the parental relationship, doing that and questioning that relationship can be very problematic. So Narcissism is a very dominant and disruptive pattern in society that people, choose to ignore. That’s the reason why people are personally focused, , it’s defensive. External power over love and service. Their are exceptions but generally the dependent type of people who seek to serve get over run and smashed by the more dominant types. If you wanted to change society you would start with Intelligent, educated conversations for parents about the nature of Narcissism versus Dependant traits and how these can be balanced in maturing children and in Adults. But it’s probably not a good idea to seek to change a society ! Great Chat - I enjoy thus podcast. Thanks,
Oh I didn't know there was a proper way to sit. I thought you could just take a load off...ok sure...how do you want me to arrange my spine, mommy dearest?
16:31 How much "digging" did this lady do though....sounds like she just wrote off the girl and assumed, "Well, you're unhappy here, so I guess you don't belong. Bye" The girl may have agreed simply because she could tell her house mother had already given up on her. As someone who was in a similar situation, I find most house mothers/authority figures find it easier to do survivor bias and think "Well, all the other girls like this, you don't, so the issue must be with you". To be fair, I don't know much about this situation and I could be making wrong assumptions, but it sounds like this girl might have been written off too soon. People need to do the hard work of establishing rapport and getting the discontented girl to trust them, then REALLY listen to what she's upset and discontent about. Only then can you make an accurate assessment about whether the girl belongs there or not. Same with 20:26-They basically saw she was having trouble handling everything and said "Oh I guess you should just leave" She probably had outside support to help her stick it out...sounds like the first girl unfortunately didn't.
Good discussions. I think your husband was trated with O3 Ozone theraphy. Same tratment of blood purification is done to cure herpes. It also helps to detox from harmful medicines. O3 Use in medicine started already during first world war. For strange reason its still not used in western medicine..
Your husband is great at the abstract, but that's not you, per se. When I feel you the most is in your stories. When you take an abstract and give it skin, that's your strength. I feel like you should be taking things topically, dealing with historical and current events, sharing what you feel and your experience with friends. Put you, Queenie, and a couple other girlfriends at a table, doll y'all up, put a camera on you and ask you what you think about things that grab you, that's a show I'd want to watch. Maybe have Jordan deliver flowers one time to each of you, that would be too cute.
Compassion even becomes self-defeating when it begins to become pathological. It undermines the quality of life for the beloved.

I love hearing of telling the truth. No secrets is a good place to start...I am glad this conversation set the tone for the rest of the day. Awesome.

IMO proof is the number one value society should embrace.

@@TammyPetersonPodcast Yes. Forgiveness is very powerful. A gift from God, I believe. Thank you for what you do for our global community.
Thank you
