I just restored two almost dead toothbrushes following your process, thank you so much! For some reason, it is very hard to find flat top batteries in India, so just used the regular button batteries and transferred the connectors from the old battery to the new one. For trimming the fins, I just used a regular cutter knife and it was much easier than using tools like diagonal cutter as shown in this video. One small mistake I made for the second one is that I left out a couple of small cylindrical plastic stoppers (of the size of about 3mm) while assembling it back. I saw them underneath the board and put them aside when one of them fell off, but forgot all about them later. I decided to just leave them be, as I think they were just for extra support. Strangely, I didn't come across the stoppers for the first repair, most probably because they never fell off or fell off and never noticed them.
Nice work! Thanks for sharing your experience!
Also, I didn't use the charger to open bottom cap as it was taking too much force and it felt like the charging tip might break. I instead use a screwdriver to pry it open, like mentioned in a few other videos.
Thanks for the video...what a pain in the ass for real...
Thank you. "Solder helper vise" $10, solder wick, from amazn or HF would really help.
I bought an oral b 3D whitening that uses batteries instead of a charger and it works great . Just use rechargeable batteries and good to go . Keep one pair in the brush another in the battery charger.
Hi... but could be AA normal one? I bought one of those with replaceable battery and just worked for a month... thinking to buy one of this... just I don't like the fact I need to trash it when batteries dies.
Well they make that difficult. I just wanted know how to take bottom off and clean it and what a pain in the butt. Tks
I am all about fixing things myself. This model goes on sale for like $24.99. The replacement cell plus shipping probably come close to half of that cost.
If someone fucked up his toothbrush I'll gladly buy the sealing ring from you! Just washed it away accidentally
you really could benefit from a vice :-)
Blue Tack works a treat
what about oral b braun pro 1500 - 3766? do you have a video for it? there's to many copper wires, i need assistance.
Sorry, I do not have any other videos on other electric toothbrushes.
This is an oral b pro 500 toothbrush, not the PRO 1000, right? The pro 1000 has extra fine wire filaments inside the circuit for powering a over-flex detection light.
Thanks for the heads up! I fixed the title. When I made the video over a year ago I must have googled the the name and saw an image that matched my toothbrush and it was labeled Pro.
I ordered it off of amazon and it is titled "Deep Sweep 1000 Electric Rechargeable Power Toothbrush Powered by Braun".
Thanks for letting me know! Your video is great though. It's really good to be able to replace those batteries - and save on needing to buy a new toothbrush!
It is a 1000. The flex light isnt in the Pro series, only the smart series and up.
Where can I buy the battery?
How many days does a fully charged battery last?
@George Bonak day 36
.... I think i'll just buy another toothbrush
the hell is going on,,, so when the battery is gone I have to buy tools to get the battery out. foh this will take hours
@1234fckJwTbe lmfao
The battery you fitted, is just a standard AA rechargeable?
The one I used had soldered tabs on the end to make installation easier. I think it would be pretty much the same spec wise though. I just noticed the link on the video to the battery is no longer valid. I'll get that fixed but I used a NiMh 1.2V AA 1800 mAh battery. amzn.to/2LKLnCw #affiliatelink.

if i keep trying to get battery out i;m going to just chip away at the plastic and in the end i still cant get it open! i thought if you press the lip or put something under lip it would be easy opening.
yeah, it can be a pain. Depending on how much spit and junk that drips down your brush, that could also be acting like a glue.
I did this but now the LED is blinking green even when it's not charging. Any ideas?
I’m not sure what would cause that.
I just bought this but I had vitality which has very bad battery life. I think I'll just have it on charger for the whole life of my brush.
Vitality has Ni Cad battery vs NiMh in this one
It is real simple to make an instruction video. Put camera on Tripod. Look through the lens and see what area it covers. The mark that territory with blue masking tape. Then when you are demonstrating something of importance to the instruction, it will be in the viewing frame. Those are a couple of the problems with your video.
This was like my first video. Yeah I sucked.
changed the battery put on the charger and the low battery light is flashing red, what's wrong?
If leaving it on the charger for several hours doesn't fix it, I'd double check my wiring to make sure everything is connected properly (battery polarity, loose connections). Otherwise it could be a bad battery or something else went bad. Best of luck!
Probably you need to turn up the volume on some really bad music.
is that a 18650 battery ?
The 18650 has a larger diameter and its longer so it may not fit without some serious modifications of the internals. The one I got from amazon is the perfect diameter and slightly longer then factory, plus it already has tabs already soldered on. amzn.to/2m0QeP3
I just wanted to take out the battery not- oh damn.. I thought it was like those batteries everyone knows, yk like those AA etc :((
Why didn't you use a "puller"? Your electrical work looks great but will the electrical receptacle on the bottom still take a charge after that abuse?
I don't have any "puller" device so forcing the base some was the only way to get something in there to pop off the end. The charging coil at the end does have some flex to it too. I've done this to two toothbrushes, one more than a year ago, and both continue to work just fine. Thanks for your feedback!
Best way to get the end cap off is to put the toothbrush on the charging stand and bend it backwards - base pops off easily with no tools.
It's a contactless charger, using two coils to transfer the power, one in the toothbrush, one in the charger.
@@slavedriver394 I"m afraid it doesn't work for me.
You need to talk to tell me what you’re doing
Use the end of the charger gets the bottom off easily
Sorry, that plastic piece of shit distorts itself. The big question is which way to turn it ? What position opens the locking ?
The battery on amazon cost 9€ (in italy) a new tootbrush with litium battery cost 30€ (with new more powerful motor a cover a charger and a replacement brush) so its a really shit thing drop in the rubbish a thootbrush only for battery but the cost of the battery and the time of the sostitution is really too much in front a buy a new model..
You can also buy a cheaper 'regular' rechargeable battery (even AAA) and solder a couple wires to it.
@@maxmordon7295 wow really shocked ! Thanks a lot
And that’s why the planet is fked.
Video for Oral-B Pro-1000 is here (battery is super easy to remove)

I don't know why you speed up the video and show what you're doing at an angle and quite a distance so we cannot see how it's done. If you're showing us how to replace the battery it would be nice to include close-up detailed maybe with verbal explanation as to how to take the unit apart in order to replace the battery.
Sorry. This was one of my first videos. I didn’t really know what I was doing.
Time consuming. But if you enjoy it. Time save just buy a new one
Very true. If you don’t like tinkering and fixing, it’s probably not worth the effort.
Poor quality engineering
Fuck me, just buy another one
Are you kidding me Oral B? 🤬 I’ll research my next electric toothbrush especially in battery replacement. I guess your banking on the consumer to just throw the damn thing out once the battery dies. FU
I AM going to throw the damn thing out but sure as hell won't be replacing it with another Oral-B
This is ridiculous. People who DO NOT have these tools what should they use?? Ur acting like we are fixing an IPHONE or something
He has a solder sucker, so he is an electronic geek. He is not your typical consumer.
Damn! Don't you think you should keep the work in frame? And why do you think I looked at this video if not to see the work? To listen to that awful excuse for music? About half of this video was trying to make the wrong battery fit. Did it cross you mind to get the correct replacement battery? Or at least one with the same physical dimensions?
Wow, someone needs a hug!
Geez the guy is trying to help you 🤦♀️! Thanks Dakota busy for your efforts. Great video.
This guy is showing how to have a longer battery life span because Braun supplies a short ass one. So he is not fumbling, he is making your toothbrush to last forever
There's always one in every comments section.....just go find another video.
@@DakotaBusy naw, someone needs to see competence. Would it have killed you to see that the video was a dog's breakfast and reshoot it? Take a smidge of pride, man.
