This is one of the most elite runs I've ever seen. The seed seemed impossible, he saw a synergy for a build no one ever tries (which was possible by knowing what was offered ahead) and made the best status card spam build of all time. The forethought take is NEXT LEVEL.
Icing on the cake would've been a madness used on Power Through, he could've sped up the process a lot by always being able to play it for free, then just using Forethought to put the Wounds into his draw pile (not counting the setup phase). So he would've been able to just go Power Throught->Wound->Power Through->..., going +1 Wound every time without needing to spend any time thinking or worrying, since it'd always be massively block positive and with no risk of messing up.
gremlin nob that pisses in your mouth and whenever you try to close your mouth or use your hands to block it he pisses even harder with +2 strength thoughts
The thing thats killing me is one chatter chatting "hey I think I couldnt play firebreath decks like you, you exhaust too much" then a follow up of frost "yeah firebreath decks are tricky" just for him to keep exhausting his wounds for no reason and losing 3 runs because of that.
@@my5108 not sure exactly when your refering to but he was playing wounds when he was still looking for other cards. wounds take a draw slot and he was using exhausting cards as a draw engine* (edit changed option to engine not sure how that word got in there)
@@Da5kone001yeah he was looking for draw, but at one point he was complaining about not drawing wounds then proceeded to exhaust every wound in his deck. Like he is definitely way better at the game than I am so I’m sure he had a plan, but seemed odd nonetheless
@@MegaMeister123 they pollute your draw, if he needs to draw key cards still you need to get them out of your deck even when they dont draw cards they still are a card in your draw pile if you dont play them. There is a balance to be had there leaving all them in just leaves you dead.
Frost, I tried the RARRAN run after you suggested it. It was absolutely amazingly goated. One of my strongest run I have ever encountered as the Ironclad. Act 1: I picked up the Broken crown as my first relic and went the third path into question mark into triple elite. Got 2 Havoc and Perffected Strike. With 4 energy, breezed through most of the elite fights and easily cleared Slime boss with a pure offense oriented deck of Strikes+Carnage. Act 2: Got Black star, went the question mark stacked route, bought omamori, got the upgrade all strike/defend event, got some lucky card rewards like Shockwave, picked up the Ritual Dagger, and then cleared the Champ with Empty Cage as my boss item of choice. Act 3: Went elite route with 2 of the Question Mark being 999 Gold event & Gold Stature 333 gold event. Stacked myself like crazy next shop bc of Courier and got all the keys, cleared Time Eater and Donu Act 4: Got 2 Thorns potion and a dream of the Heart, Cleared it on Turn 7. I recommend giving Broken Crown a try because although the lack of card rewards is bad, the extra energy is way too good to pass up. Toxic Egg + Juzu was also an amazing combo that provided only decent to good skills in the small card rewards I got. Not to mention Gold Statue giving the extra gold I needed for every shop visit so I could stock up on good cards, this run was the perfect Broken Crown run.
That's acutally very impressive holy shit. If I remember correctly, I do once have a forethought+ win, but never a busted crown swap win at A20. I feel like busted crown and ectoplasm are the most tedius swap one can get. They both need specific strategy and RNG for cards and events to actually make it to the end. Also, l like your mentioning of Juzu, it's often time such a neglectable relic since the value it provide is so indirect. But I guess in a Busted Crown swap run it do become a very important factor. I have to say I never thought that before.
On my first attempt before watching, I got to the first elite in act 2 and it was highroll gremlin leader spawning 2 sneaky gremlins and attacking for 11×3 on turn 2. This seed is insanely tough.
This was so entertaining to watch as a huge fan of status builds. Didn't really think he had a shot without a Barricade or Feel No Pain, and then that glorious Forethought play made it all possible. Awesome.
Actually the wildest run I've ever seen of STS, and I've been watching your content for years. I think only a handful of people could have pulled that off, well done sir.
This is honestly the most hyped I've ever been to see a video. I knew instantly which run you were talking about. Loved the stream (RUclips viewers should come over)
I love how this collaboration with Aaron has resulted in some videos that we would not have gotten otherwise. It's interesting watching you grind a seed
Fire breathing/evolve is basically the reason I love playing ironclad lmao free stuff from the cards that would otherwise annoy me the most sounds pretty fweakin sweet
I actually did beat it on my first try without watching vid by going for the crown. Still friggin hard though. Went for fighting every elite possible on the right act one and then picking up the black star and just snowballing elites with a perfected strike as dmg. End of act two was very close though.
Havent yet seen your run but i managed to beat act one first try. I took 100G to an early shop with slimg of courage. Then picked an evolve, pommle strike perfected strike and carnage to first elite. With the help of the potion the gives you more potion i beat the elite without takeing much damage. I then picked thunderclup, feed(upgraded asap) and upgraded seeing red from the toxic egg. I took no other elite and beat the boss and got corruption. I went with darkblood as im not trying to get to act 4. Edit: died to snakeplant in act 2. RIP
Honestly, this might be the craziest infinite I've ever seen. This build shouldn't work as smooth as it does, and yet it was a defeat the heart run. Like, evolve, breathing fire, med kit, power through and dark embrace to keep enough block, with forethought, one of the worst card in the entire game, allowing this crazy combo to pull off an infinite. Also, exhausting the deck with second wind and true grit to make the infinite easier to pull off was the icing on the cake.
A lot of time, you never know if you can trust the title, but I was loving the races anyway. This is seriously one of the coolest STS runs I’ve ever seen and you adapting to the run was brilliant. 🎉
man i was like studing for my last exam like really fliping hard and it made my brain hurt so i came to chill between chapters and then you play this shit and my brain hurts even more. thanks frost.
Sick run. Never even thought about using forethought for an infinite. I liked this too, watching you try one seed until you beat it. If you made me videos of you trying to beat a single difficult seed I would totally watch them. And imagine the modded content. Honestly, this game has so much to offer in challenges and playstyles. I've been playing for as long as I've been watching you.
Tried the seed. Never saw Firebreathing. Ended up with Upgraded Evolve, 2 Wild Strikes, Upgraded True Grit, Fiend Fire, Offering, and Strategy (as well as some other stuff that was less important). It was spicy, but I got greedy with 2 back-to-back elites in Act 2 and died from being 4 HP off lethal on Book of Stabbing.
Gonna be honest, tried the run with you prefacing it as an insane line, actually went for the status/curse card build, just to get too greedy and died to the elite before the Act 2 boss since grabbing Black Star. Insane seed. My misplay was likely taking the vampire bites event as I had gotten rid of NONE of my starting cards halfway through act 2. Edit: Still watching the video...is there an infinite? If so poggies as hell.
Hey! You've coached Rarran in using the Silent and Ironclad. I'm REALLY looking forward to the Watcher coaching. That would be amazing and so informative. Hope you guys can set it up.
one thing that I have been wondering for a while now is if you feel as a slay the spire streamer, do you think every seed is possible to beat given enough attempts at it?
this intro kinda reminds me of a minecraft speedrun couriway who does no reset speedruns of seeds and I wonder if it'd be a fun challenge for sts (essentially playing a seed until u can find a way to beat it)
The moment he realized he was going to go infinite in this stupid way (stupid as in it would be dumb to pick these cards in the hope of pulling off this combo - like, you could see him realizing that this bonkers set of relics and cards were going to do what they did). I did not feel lied to by this thumbnail at all.
Early build guess from 15mins of watching... I'm guessing the winning build is exhausted firebreath with wounds block. I used a similar build to beat the heart by just blocking and slamming them based off block.
the thing about forethought is that it turns out it's pretty good if you have infinite card draw and a way to make your deck small, and it's completely useless otherwise
Ok, so after he plays fire breathing he is exhausting cards which makes him draw cards. Why do the wounds that he draws mid-turn not proc fire breathing? Am I missing something with that card? It seems like only the Status/Curses he draws at the beginning of his turn proc it, but that’s not what the card says.
Usually I'm just like "yep frost is good at the game business as usual" but I actually got pumped when I saw this bullshit go infinite. Like, what was that?

Alright. Forethought, dark embrace, med kit, power through, fire breathing is the sexiest infinite that I've seen so far
