      I love Megan's new "doo" --- I scarcely recognized her until she started fiddling. She is a consummate professional. Gidday to all from d'under.

    More beautiful examples of Scotland's almost unique talent of birthing gorgeous girls who are wonderful singers and musicians. Megan is of course well known as the fiddle player and clog dancer of the great folk band Breabach. Linda's voice is just so pure, pristine, perfect and gives you goosebumps. But then as a proud Scot I'm biased. Wonderful stuff.

    Linda has a GORGEOUS voice…I never get tired of listening to her!
    I was a little surprised that the song title is written in Irish, but the song and lyrics are actually Scottish. (I know some Irish, but almost ZERO Scottish.)
    Either way, this is one of my new favorites! I love the fact that the accompaniment is stripped down to a guitar and violin (or is it a fiddle?). The guitar part is played with a simple strum, but it’s PERFECT for this song!!

      Thanks. I understand your point of view. Actually on my father's side I have Northern Ireland ancestors and on my mother's Eire ancestry. But I am Scottish born and bred. As are Linda and Megan. But don't worry. We all love the Irish as true close brothers and sisters.

    Everyone saying this is Irish - it’s Scottish Gàidhlig

    • @DPG214
      @DPG214 2 года назад +1

      Exactly! But the song title might be Irish - the accents slope to the right.

    • @mesaaa08
      @mesaaa08 2 года назад +2

      @@DPG214 pretty sure that's just an error as this is a Scottish song

    • @wickedone6476
      @wickedone6476 2 года назад

      Depending upon the dialect one speaks it would easily understand by either of the two......however, be as it may , this might be a Scottish song but it sounds Irish to me , that could be due to the fact that I'm learning both and have experience with multiple dialects of both , which are so similar it can be hard sometimes to tell the difference between the two.

      The singer may be Scottish but the language is Irish

    • @tomasbyrom3954
      @tomasbyrom3954 2 года назад +1

      Gaelic was once a language spoken from the most northern point of Scotland to the most southern point of Ireland. Modern dialects are divided but it's just politics. This is the Scottish dialect of Gaelic, Linda is a native speaker. But an Irish Gael should understand most of the song.
