    2 years later, this is still my most favourite compressor especially on spoken dialogues.

    PULSAR people, please keep doing what you do, or improve! You are a bunch of absolute kings!
    The Massive-passive and this plugin are astonishing plugins, with great visual feedback, possibilities and amazing improvements compared to the the HW gears. That's bringing the best of both worlds (analog and digital). Such cool and useful plugins! The mojo is def felt. Sweet sweet stuff with so much more flexibility and options compared to the HW. Soooo nice! And that for a fraction of the price. Sick!
    I think you guys are really making the hardware original gears more and more obsolete each new release. I predict a lot of those legendary famous hardware gears will be more and more forgotten, at least as soon as the boomer generation will become too old to stand behind a console anymore. Mark my words!

    This cemented it, the Pulsar 1178 is on my shiny bits wish list. I've already got the Massive, Mu, and Smasher and they're phenomenal at compression and EQ with tons of colorization. Just the way I want it. My other plug-ins are by design pretty transparent, and they have their place as well.
    I really love the fact, when needed, I can do crazy deep cuts or silly gains in that Massive, and high compression on the Mu, and it still sounds great!

    Small thing but means so much is the presets telling you what gain reduction. Amazing plugin and company.

    Pulsar are true masters of analog emulations. The Mu is a beast, now they’ve made a FET compressor. I’ll get rid of my UAD stuff when Pulsar makes an LA2A emulation.

    Bought it. I had so much fun twisting knobs with the Mu and 8200 this morning I thought I'd expand my options. I can see how useful this is going to be.

    Looks fantastic, will be sure to check this out. Thought I didn’t need anymore 1176 compressors, but this looks so much more comprehensive and going by how much I love the Mu I know this will probably be incredible.

    This comp is the bees knees.. so good. It would be awesome if you guys added a slow attack time, like even up to 10ms or so. Cuz I love this comp so much, but when I want to add more punch, obviously you wouldn't turn to such a fast FET comp.. but nothing else really has this sound and I friction love it.. especially the Saturation circuits... SO GOOD....! EDIT wait so the lookbehind.. Does that technically make the Attack time longer?? whoa.. ive never heard of lookbehind before. Also what does the Invert switch do? He didnt explain that.

    • @PulsarPlugins
      @PulsarPlugins  Месяц назад

      The “lookbehind” function is the opposite of lookahead: it delays detection, i.e. gain reduction is delayed relative to the peaks detected in the input sound. As a result, transients will be much less compressed, similar to what happens with a long attack time. But it's not quite the same thing: with a long attack time, the gain reduction takes longer to build up. With lookbehind, it's delayed! It's also possible to combine the two: it's up to you to decide what works best for your particular application.

    • @PulsarPlugins
      @PulsarPlugins  Месяц назад

      The “Invert” position of the sidechain mode switch causes the left channel to be compressed according to the volume of the right channel, and the right channel to be compressed according to the volume of the left channel.
      This can be interesting on busses, to bring out instruments panned independently to left or right.

    I read about this a while back and I had been asking myself do I really need another compressor? Tested it and Mu and picked them up as a deal. I’ve been trying them on all sorts of material and I am truly smitten.

    The reverse direction of the attack and release buttons is really too disturbing!

    • @PulsarPlugins
      @PulsarPlugins  3 года назад +7

      Hi, it's disturbing if you're not used to it; but it's the way these knobs are connected on the real machine!
      At first, when we started working on this plugin, we thought about re-inverting these knobs in order to have a more up-to-date "intuitive" tuning of the attack & release, but many people who were used to the hardware 1176/1178 units told us that it would be very even more disturbing.
