    Unimportant but I’m a nerd - diurnal: awake in the day, nocturnal: awake at night, crepuscular: awake at dawn and dusk! I think you meant crepuscular around the beginning with quokkas going blind
    I also have my own views on quokka stuff as an Aussie wildlife carer who’s visited Rottnest Island a bunch of times.. they’re so integrated with humans that I think people assume it’s okay to feed them, despite SO many signs saying DON’T feed them, DON’T pet them… tourists either don’t care or there’s a language barrier. Sometimes I pick leaves from safe trees to feed to them, but that’s the extent of it and ‘quokka selfies’ are also a problem since it teaches people that it’s okay to get so close to them on your own terms…
    Dumb ramble! Cool video!:D

      No such thing as a dumb ramble here. This is valuable information that we need to know, thank you!

      It’s the f•cked up selfie “culture” that is killing animals and environments. :(

    Something interesting to note: koalas and quokkas actually live on either side of the Australian desert and haven’t encountered each other since the last ice age when climatological change isolated the two.

    the quokka fact about them going blind is so sad but so fascinating! evolution happening right before our eyes!!

    Great build by the way, but adding more trees and moisture to the habitat whould make it more realistic as koalas despite popular belief don't actually live in arid reigons, but instead live in lush temprate forests or tropical forests depending on the subspecies your going for. Great build verry inspiring.

      oh no for sure but california can get pretty arid!

      @crazzycreeper8789 10 месяцев назад +1

      @LeafProductions Eucalyptus are arid trees. If you want to keep to the environment realistic whilst adding trees, you could add some desert bloodwoods to the habitat. Trust me, I know koalas, the part of Australia I'm from is full of them.

    Good mix Leaf, Dubbo Western Plains Zoo actually cohabits their koalas with quokka too. With the addition of echidna.

    "Quokkas are kinda smart-I know they look kinda stupid." Never change, Leaf 😂 Big fan of this new cladding technique you're using (not sure if you've used it before, but the last few videos are the first time I'm noticing it). The colourful accents and eucalyptus feeders are a great touch as well!

    At our local wildlife park and rehabilitation center, the elk, bison, mountain goats and sheep and Przewalski horses all have multiple connected exhibits to explore and climb. As a guest, it's so rewarding to see naturally nomadic animals traversing so much ❤ oooh and the foxes have multiple areas as well 😀

    I went to this island the quokka lives and when I went no one was feeding them but I hate that the reason both of these species are starting to get endangered are because of bush fires very dangerous for both species

    Nice build but why didn’t you connect those platforms to each other? Now the koalas have to walk on the ground when reaching another one

    • @LeafProductions
      @LeafProductions  11 месяцев назад

      Good Question! Koalas are quite territorial, so it's best that they're split up from each other for climbing space.

    If I could make a update for the koala here is what it would be: when koalas climb to a top of a tree the may feel suicidal if there habitat has wrong plants and not enough space, if the koala becomes suicidal, it will jump.
