The height adjustment is simply the best height adjustment system I have seen on a walk behind mower. Being spring loaded makes it effortless even though the mower is relatively heavy. it is a very well designed machine.
@ …not in Texas. This may be true in blue states. I have been in the lawncare business for decades and I don’t know of a single business or neighbor that has anything battery operated.
@@theflyingbrompton4787 I dont mean the consumers, I mean manufacturers. You got Honda dropping out in favor of electric. Even boutique brands like Bad Boy are going electric. You got Home Depot and Lowes focusing on electric mowers, with only a few gas mowers with some junky plastic Briggs engines. And then youve got the Chinese mowers from MTD and all the no names making questionable gas engine mowers. Seemed like the only choice left, for a while, was just the commercial grade mowers. So its cool to see new premium gas engine mowers and not just more low cost Chinese junk.
Nice review,i have the stihl rm655rs mower with the rear roller, its a joy to use,it is so well built and starts first time every time and it leaves a very nice stripe too, stihl make great machines, what weight is this machine please?
i generally don't like post pricing on RUclips as pricing does change and it get difficult to ensure it stays up to date but the Stihl push mowers start just under $1,000 in the United States and go up from there. Be sure to check with your local Stihl dealer for the most current and up to date pricing information.
These look great. When my Honda ever dies, since Hondas going to stop making gas mowers, this will probably be my next mower. I like Honda & Kawasaki engines the best, with Kohler 2nd, but don’t like Briggs
These mowers are truly impressive in thier design and build quality. Certainly with Honda leaving the gas walk behind space, there is room for a premium offering like this from Stihl. The Kohler motors are solid units with great performance and durability. I don't think you will be disappointed.
A Toro Super Recycler with a Honda would be a nice option. I'm looking for something with an aluminum deck and good engine. There are not many options.
@@melvinjacobs2328 I've never heard anything good about the Toro. I have 2 Husqvarna 600c commercial 21's with Robin Subaru eh18v engines a snapper commercial 21 with Kawasaki FJ 180v and a Gravely 21 commercial with a Kawasaki Fj180v Kai. The Husqvarna mowers were built by Ariens back in 04 and are identical to my Gravely. The gravely is the newest mower of the bunch.
It's a shame that Stihl has thrown there dealers under the bus and started selling at retailer stores. Does Ace and the other stores carry parts...No. Does Ace have trained mechanics to fix equipment ...No. Buy from Stihl dealers that have your back when thing don't work or expect to pay double the shop fees for bringing in Ace sold equipment.
While I can’t speak for all Ace stores or other retailers, I can tell you that my Ace store does stock parts and has a full Stihl small engine shop in house with Stihl trained and certified mechanics. I agree that buyers should consider making their purchases from serving dealers.
@@kopetskysaceyankton8767 tell’em! Not sure why a Stihl dealer would charge double b/c it was purchased at ACE. Given his user name is Troybilt, just a troll
That height adjustment got my attention. Being able to sit it upright for blade changes is nice as well.

Good no nonsense presentation.
thank you!
What if you don't want to bag or mulch? Is there a discharge chute?
There is
Oh dang, are they still making these things?
??? New product for 2024
@theflyingbrompton4787 just surprised, since everyone's bailing out of the gas engine market

They are certainly very well built units, Stihl lists the weight as 101.4 lbs., thanks for the view and the comment.
Great presentation! How much do they run now?

$1000.00 is a deal breaker for me. I love Stihl but this isn't for me. I can get a real good mower for half of that.

Anything oil burning brigs and Stratton is nothing but junk, instead of Toro they should call em cows
These Stihl mowers are more of a competitor for the Toro Super Recycler not the Toro Recycler.
