I’m one of those weird people who, prefer hand stitching the binging down on the back of the quilt, but for charity quilts this can become a real chore! So I’m watching carefully your technique of starting in the back of a quilt - I thunk I need to make this quilt as a practice before I start in my guild’s charity quilts so I can get the hang of doing this differently (I was going to say backwards😁. But it isn’t really, just different!). Thanks so much for this great series of basic quilting - I have my fingers crossed that there will be more of these series in various techniques, etc.!!!
Stitching on the Binding: I try to keep the top stiching within the (back) binding rather than on the back of the quilt sandwich just shy of the binding. How do you avoid this unruly stitch from following its own wayward path, while keeping the binding “full.” Many thanks I enjoyed both the diagonal cutting demo and the “where to cut the binding before joining explanation. Good job. You were a smart pick for AccuQuilt.
We are so glad you enjoyed these videos of Chris! Our biggest tip for keeping things straight when stitching your binding is just to take it slow. The more you practice this method, the simpler it will get!
Loved this seriesThanks so much Chris and Accuquilt. Love the pattern. I am thinking I would like it a little bit larger so going to try scrappy with 12" Qube sets.
Great series Chris! As a novice quilter, I learned so much.
So many new tools and ideas.
Thank you Chris for sharing your knowledge. Enjoyed your series immensely.
We are so glad you enjoyed it!
Great job Chris!
I am so glad you give measurement for laying binding down before stitching. Binding causes me so much trouble. Thanks.
We are so glad this was helpful!!
