Very nice video! This is one of my favorites trails. I hiked there three times but have never seen water in any of these lakes. They were all frozen whenever I got there. LOL.

You may want to look into Dinkey Lakes, just east of Shaver Lake east of Fresno. Easy hike, rarely crowded, and scenery far more beautiful than this hike. God bless all of you!
Im considering doing this during late January this season for early february, do you think if the roads are open this would be doable, wondering what the weather would be like during this time.
AllTrails give this a "hard" rating. The steep elevation gain as well the high altitude made this hike pretty challenging! But totally worth it i think!

Yes, I heard these lakes are famous for fish, but we werent prepared for fishing!
Planning on going in late June / sometime in July . Was it a one night trip ? Do you remember if the ground was rocky and hard for stake ?
Yup we were there one night but i wish we stayed longer! And no we didnt have any issues staking our tent

not sure about mountain lions, but there are definitely bears! bear canisters are required when backpacking

Hmm i would say it depends on their experience level and how well they do with elevation! We did see younger hikers on the trail though.
